Support for Adobe Flash was ended by the major web browsers at the beginning of 2021.

Several widely known sites that were established in the 2000s shut down, including Yahoo Answers and LiveLeak. YouTube purged any remaining channel comments (later known as the "discussion tab") and privated unlisted videos dated 2016 and earlier. Channel comments of channels that received access to the "community" subpage were already purged beginning in 2018.
