Greeting

Greeting

It was in March 1990 when I started Creek and River as a freelance video director. It is said that it was the year when the bubble economy started to burst.
At the time of our founding, our small office was filled with the overflowing passion of our employees. It seems like just yesterday that we had discussions every day and passionately preached to creators and clients about the society we aim to achieve.

I became independent as a freelancer at the age of 23 and worked on many documentaries, mainly for television. One day, when I was covering a village in Africa, I was driven by the feeling that I wanted to save the people in front of me rather than saving many lives in the future with the power of images. (This event is also the origin of the Creek and River company name) . Another time, when I participated in a documentary program co-produced by Japan and the United States, I learned about the existence of unions and agents to which freelance creators belonged. was given. Through these experiences, I began to think about starting a business that is useful to society rather than self-realization as a creator. Then, I decided to start a business to back up creators and came to establish Creek and River. Starting with a network of seven film and TV directors, our business has grown to the point where our directors are now involved in about 45% of the TV programs broadcast in Japan.

After that, as we gradually expanded our business in the creative field to web, games, advertising and publishing, we realized that the professional agent business model was needed in other fields as well. . Doctors, IT engineers, lawyers, accountants... When we look around the world, there are many professional fields that we need to support, and our mission is never-ending.

With movies and video works, you can get applause from the audience after watching. In business management, I believe that the equivalent of this applause is to make many people happy and win many "thank yous". By making Japan more creative and the world more creative, we will continue to grow and make many people involved happy.
