- 1/27/24-Sad news out of the Moskvarium this morning. Naja's calf passed away on January 26th, due to a congenital heart defect. Here is a link to the article. We mourn for Naja, who was an amazing first time mother to her calf.
- 3/13/24-Shanghai has announced Dora's calf is a male. They are holding a naming contest for the calf. He was born on December 5, 2023.
- 3/15/24-Kobe Sea World has announced they will be opening June 1st. The park is anticipated to receive orcas prior to then.
- 3/16/24-Kamogawa Sea World has announced today the orca stadium is closed and will remain closed until further notice. This could indicate Lovey is about to give birth or they may be transferring whales to Kobe.
- 3/17/24-Shanghai has confirmed that Panghu is the father of Dora's calf.
- 3/23/24-Kamogawa had closed the killer whale show on March 16th as Lovey had gone into labor. Sadly, the calf did not survive. Kamogawa resumed shows on March 20th. It is unknown who the father was. It is also not known if the calf was a stillborn or if it died shortly after birth.
- 3/23/24-Another adult female has been moved from Chimelong's holding facility to Chimelong Spaceship. This is either Jade or Nukka.
- 3/28/24-Marineland Antibes has announced that Inouk passed away overnight. His cause of death is unknown.
- 3/29/24-Orca_Dolphin.726 on instagram has posted that Nukka is the whale to have moved to Chimelong Spaceship most recently.
- 3/29/24-Port of Nagoya has announced that Stella has been transferred back to Granvista Hotel. This is the owner of Kamogawa Sea World and Kobe Suma Sea World. It has not been announced which park she has been sent to, but Kobe has been planning to import orcas to their park for their opening on June 1st, which leads us to believe she has been sent to Kobe. (Update-Stella has been moved to Kobe.)
- 4/8/24-China Orca News has posted that Zhengzhou Haichang Ocean Park's killer whale exhibit is scheduled to be completed in July 2024.
- 4/24/24-Ran was transferred to Kobe Suma Sea World.
- 4/27/24-According to China Orca News, Dalian Laohutan Ocean Park plans to build a killer whale stadium. They had temporarily housed Panghu, Sean, Cookie and Dora in a backstage area prior to Shanghai Haichang's opening in 2018. Both aquariums are under the same ownership.
- 5/24/24-Dora's calf has been named Pangdoubao.
- 5/24/24-Jade and the calf born last year at the Chimelong Holding Facility were moved to Chimelong Spaceship, likely in May. Jade is the calf's mother.
- 5/30/24-Kobe Suma Sea World has opened to the public. Stella and Ran have been performing in the orca show,
- 5/30/24-Tyson at Chimelong has been seen performing waterworks in the park's show. While he is the only orca at the park to have been seen doing waterworks, Nakhod, Bandhu, Chad, Kaixin and Yilong were also in the show pool at the same time this was happening. The trainer could be seen riding on Tyson's back.
- 6/17/24-China Orca News has confirmed that Jade gave birth to a male calf on October 6, 2023 at Chimelong's Holding Facility. The calf has been named Jingxi. Jade and Jingxi were transferred to Chimelong Spaceship on May 22, 2024.
