      Viele nutzen Hotspots mittlerweile regelmäßig in Ihrem Alltag. Doch was genau ist WLAN Hotspot eigentlich? Hotspots sind drahtlose Internetzugangspunkte, die teils in öffentlichen (z. B. an Flughäfen, Bahnhöfen) oder auch in geschlossenen Bereichen (z. B. in Hotels oder in der Gastronomie) installiert sind. An vielen Hotspots der Telekom ist die Nutzung für alle Gäste kostenfrei und das Einloggen erfolgt ganz einfach mit nur einem Klick. Nicht selten sind Zugangspunkte mit einem Passwort geschützt oder es wird mindestens eine manuelle Anmeldung vom Nutzer gefordert.

      Mit einem Smartphone oder einem anderen WiFi-fähigen mobilen Endgerät kann sich der Nutzer dann mit dem Hotspot verbinden und das Internet nutzen, ohne dabei das eigene Datenvolumen zu belasten.
