Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 Beta is coming, grab your seat now

Since the dynamic world of smartphone operating systems is never short of action, one such important participant in this field is Xiaomi and its innovative software updates. Lately, what has been troubling the enthusiasts and users of Xiaomi’s HyperOS is the next course of action after the HyperOS Beta version concluded last month. So here is all we know about the upcoming developments and how this translates to good news for all Xiaomi users.

HyperOS Beta to HyperOS 2.0 Transition

Semi-officially, Xiaomi has just now officially announced that internal testing recruitment of the beta version of HyperOS 2.0 will be done during the fourth quarter of 2024, from October to December. It is given to understand by this information that Xiaomi is following a very strategic approach to fine-tuning its operating system based on user feedback and technical assessments received in the earlier beta phase.

Key Highlights of HyperOS 2.0 Beta Recruitment

  • Beta Release Synchrony: There is every expectation that Beta and Stable versions of HyperOS 2.0 will be issued together by Xiaomi, which, in turn, will take the giant leap by synchronizing development-deployment Cycles. It is mainly targeted at synchronizing the user experience and providing all advances and fixes to all types of users with one standardized gesture.
  • Beta Users Get A Smooth Ride: Those who applied for the previous beta tests get a smooth ride ahead. Xiaomi confirms that these users, once they reapply for Beta permissions, will be directly upgraded to the latest HyperOS 2.0 as soon as the beta program kicks off. This assurance itself mirrors how Xiaomi never misses even the slightest opportunity to keep its dedicated user base updated with the least hassle.
  • Expanded Device Support: With HyperOS 2.0, Xiaomi is expanding the circle beyond what was included earlier in the beta. An expansion like this will offer many more Xiaomi device owners an opportunity to enjoy the latest upgrades and features and, hence, enhance the overall ecosystem of supported devices.

What to Expect from HyperOS 2.0

Though Xiaomi has kept mum about the exact features and upgrades in the HyperOS 2.0, the move from the beta version suggests humungous gains and new features as below:

  1. Enhanced User Interface: They could experience a much smoother and more organic user interface, fine-tuned on the feedback of the beta stage for enhanced usability and appearance.
  2. Optimized Performance: With every new version, Xiaomi works on the system’s performance optimization. HyperOS 2.0 is believed to feature improvements with lagging reduction, more excellent battery life, and overall fast system functioning.
  3. Security Updates: Security being topmost on the agenda, the new HyperOS will more than likely have security updates and patches upgraded to protect users against the latest forms of vulnerabilities and threats.
  4. Additional Features: Additional features that may be included in this update include improved camera features, better integration with the IoT range of devices, and improved data management features based on feedback given by users as well as perceived market sentiment for such trends.

Looking Ahead

As the beta tester recruitment process for HyperOS 2.0 is scheduled to start in Q4 2024, Xiaomi users are at the door of receiving the new generation of their device OS. Of course, this process is critically significant for Xiaomi in testing out and removing any last-minute hiccups and receiving much-needed customer feedback before the full rollout.

For the fans who want to hop onto this ride, a constant lookout for official releases from Xiaomi and getting ready for the beta application shall be the first steps. As with Xiaomi, such a strategy evidences an optimal fusion of innovation and user-centric development, which will surely make for an exciting update for worldwide users. More of this in a while as Xiaomi makes HyperOS 2.0 and its expanded ecosystem of supported devices available. Better days are ahead for the Xiaomi lot as features only get better and more inclusive.

I don’t understand Xiaomi’s policy: an update for the Mi11 Ultra has been promised for ages and nothing happens. My smartphone is still running MIUI 14 and HyperOS still seems to be a long way off

It is ridiculous that Redmi Note 11 Pro did not receive the hyperos 2.0 update. It should have received Android 14, but it did not. It should have received Android 15, but it will not receive it. Since it will not receive Android 15 and Android 14, Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G will receive hyperos 2.0. They should bring the update based on Android 13, just like the HyperOS 1.0 version.

“More excellent battery life”??? This is just a masked ad. I finally had it and sold my 13T Pro. The battery life was terrible and the phone overheated and skipped frames while recording video. It is a shame, since the hardware appears to be good, but the OS hinders their phones. I’ve had Xiaomi devices since the Mi 8, but will NEVER get another Xiaomi because of the terrible OS. Terrible experiences with the Mi Note 10, 10T, 11T, 12, F5 and 13T Pro. My only good experiences were the 9T Pro and 12X.

HyperOS Launcher received June 21 update with AI support

The favorite launcher software, HyperOS Launcher, has now received an update that bumps the software version to RELEASE-4.39.15.8215-06211234. This update is performed close to the previous version released on June 21, RELEASE-4.39.15.8215-06211234.

What’s New about This Update?

The main focus of the June update for HyperOS Launcher is to enhance user experience: fixing well-known problems and optimizing different parts of the launcher. Here’s what is in store for you:

New AI Support

Now, the large-scale update of Xiaomi Suggestion in HyperOS Launcher has finally arrived in the Community Beta with version 2.0. The update launched on June 21 with many new capabilities geared toward enhancing user experience. They added a course schedule service that helps users keep track of their classes using reminders 30 minutes before and the night before each session once information is entered into the Xiao Ai schedule.

A new travel assistant has been added and can identify train and flight trips with the user’s schedule, showing progress front and center on the negative one screen and on the lock screen for easy access and, more importantly, better planning when traveling. The update also fixes several bugs, including the abnormal display of widgets, incorrect loading of scene cards, importing birthdays and anniversaries into the calendar, wrong birthday reminders, and a flash of the search box when sliding the Xiaomi suggestion card on the opposing screen. This will be an upgrade to revamp users’ daily lives and make HyperOS Launcher more convenient and powerful in its general operation.

Bug Fixes

This release fixes some bugs that developers had in some of the previous ones. Such fixes ensure a smoother experience and stability for all users. Often, bug correction involves user interface issues, performance defects, or unexpected behavior discovered while in use.

Optimization Improvements

In addition to the bug fixes, further improvements have been made in optimizing the HyperOS Launcher. These are intended to make the launcher more efficient and hence have reduced time lags and increased responsiveness in operations. Optimizations may include memory efficiency, faster load times, and improved performances that will make the launcher a delight to run.

There are 2 different ways to install the Xiaomi HyperOS Launcher June 21 update on your phone.

  • Download HyperOS Downloader app on your phone from the Google Play Store.
  • Tap Apps menu on the bottom bar.
  • Find System Launcher and tap update.
  • Download latest update from there. Note: China indicates that this app uses the same app as the Global version.

If you download the HyperOS Downloader app on your phone, you can get all HyperOS app updates immediately after they are released. After installing this app, we recommend that you update all older HyperOS apps on your phone. If you still want to download Xiaomi HyperOS Launcher directly, you can do it from here.

Conclusion

The June update of HyperOS Launcher hits the same chord: a developer set to churn out nothing but a high-quality, user-friendly product that satisfies its power users. Every new update of the launcher just keeps on making it more robust and more user-friendly at the same time, hence bringing out an example that even small changes could have a significant impact on usability and performance. Stay tuned here for more updates as the HyperOS team keeps developing and enhancing one of the most versatile launchers you could have today!
