The dynamic trends in automotive industry have resulted in flooding of world market with high performance vehicles. Obviously this has cascading effect on the automotive components with expectation of high level of performance and constant need to upgrade the technology to meet these levels. Tyre certainly could not remain different and as a result of that, we find constant innovations in this product line, to meet the growing technological requirements of vehicle as a whole. Tyre noise has become an important performance indicator today, which has not only become a major customer requirement but also a mandatory norm in the International market. Hence tyre has become a product of intense research also for reducing its contribution in overall noise generation by the vehicle.

This paper seeks to address validation of tyre pattern noise prediction using objective and subjective evaluation techniques.
