Recommendation from the Fair Trade Commission regarding the Act against Delay in Payment of Subcontract Proceeds, etc.

Today, OSAKA SEALING PRINTING CO., LTD. (Head office: Tennoji-ku, Osaka City; President: Matsuguchi Tadashi hereinafter referred to as "our company") received a recommendation (hereinafter referred to as "this recommendation") from the Japan Fair Trade Commission pursuant to the Act against Delay in Payment of Subcontract Proceeds, etc. to Subcontractors (hereinafter referred to as the "Subcontracting Act").

We would like to once again apologize for any inconvenience caused to the subcontractor we had commissioned to create the designs, and we would like to offer our deepest apologies for any concern caused to everyone involved in our activities.

This recommendation was issued because the company determined that its act of having a subcontractor, to whom it had outsourced part of the design creation, redo the design after receiving the payment, was in violation of Article 4, Paragraph 2, Item 4 of the Subcontracting Act (prohibition of unreasonable redoing).

We have already corrected the violations and have paid the affected subcontractors the amount equivalent to the costs incurred by the subcontractors in carrying out the rework approved by this recommendation.

We take this recommendation seriously and will endeavor to strengthen compliance and prevent recurrence by reorganizing our internal structure, including by conducting in-house training and inspections regarding compliance with the Subcontract Act, in order to prevent a similar issue from recurring in the future.
