President Cyril Ramaphosa may hand the DA no less than five senior Cabinet posts as a reward for supporting the ANC's efforts to establish a government of national unity (GNU).

The agreement between the ANC and DA was that both parties support each other’s candidates in Parliament.

The DA supported the nomination of Thoko Didiza as Speaker of the National Assembly while the ANC will support the DA’s candidate, Annelie Lotriet, to take up the position of Deputy Speaker.
