Russian and Syrian warplanes conduct joint patrols in Syria airspace during exercises.
During the joint exercise of the Russian Group of Forces and the Syrian Arab Army, the crews of Russian Aerospace Forces and Syrian Air Force practised joint actions in the airspace of the Syrian Arab Republic.
Russian and Syrian pilots patrolled the air borders in the east and southern part of the country. In addition, aircraft from the two countries trained launching individual and group airstrikes at targets at one of the training grounds in the Syrian desert.
The joint manoeuvres involved Su-35 fighter jets, Su-34 bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces, and Su-24 frontline bombers of the Syrian Air Force.
