Overuse and reckless usage of his psyker abilities increases the odds of Magnus being corrupted or compromised to some degree.

Heavily resistant to psionics. Also resistant to basically everything else.

Fire.

Personality[]

Much more cautious and reserved than his main timeline counterpart, Magnus nonetheless still endeavors to acquire knowledge.

History[]

Overlord verse Magnus the Red's backstory started out the same as his main timeline counterpart's, initially being very reckless and arrogant, but then diverged upon meeting Overlord Omicron. Disapproving of the Experiment's brutal mind-control regime, Magnus the Red had a falling-out with the Overlord. This event was one of two which caused Magnus to re-evaluate himself and his powers.

The other event which lead to his loss of arrogance was the incident where [REDACTED] heavily damaged Overlord verse Orvtre, causing hir to fall comatose. Failing to stop this, and the prior meeting with Overlord Omicron, made Magnus determined to reassess his psyker abilities and rebuilt them from the ground up, limiting his current powers while he did so.

Magnus ultimately joined Hero Squad, persuading them to accept his request for membership by agreeing to limit his psychic powers and by giving them means to keep him in check in case he or his powers go awry.

Themes[]

Potentially something related to Warhammer 40,000.

Trivia[]

The decision to introduce Magnus the Red was mainly as a foil to Omicron. In the Overlord verse, this means that Magnus the Red is what Omicron could've ended up as, had he decided to rein in his own psychic powers, not go on massive brainwashing sprees, and join Hero Squad. Effectively, in comparison to a "Hero Squad appears earlier" timeline, you could say that in the Overlord verse, Magnus the Red and Omicron switched places, and perhaps switched fates as well...

Overlord verse Magnus the Red has both eyes intact, unlike his main timeline counterpart. He wears a transparent visor/face shield to protect his eyes.
