<Hydross> What with being stuck in the ice, Metal Scythe took the Spear Wave head on, a metallic screech echoing from him on impact. The torrent of water pushed him back quite a ways before the black shield from before popped up to block the rest of it, but when the way was clear it became pretty obvious that he was damaged. The sparks spraying from his chest plate were proof enough of that. "Grrr... Gearteeth, covering fire!" Metal Scythe screeched, his voice box apparently also damaged. A huge number of them broke off of the fight to put themselves between us and him and obligingly opened fire to prevent any of us from approaching. Orvtre's summons piled in to try and clear the way, but the swarm of Gearteeth focused fire on each as they approached. Before we could move in ourselves, something huge burst out of the woods and slammed through the swarm of Gearteeth, sending hundreds of metal bits flying through the air. The something in question turned out to be Juggernaut, who dispatched the majority of the Gearteeth with almost pathetic ease. "Hey, there's my ride! Been fun and all, but I think I'mma skedaddle before this turns into any more of a mess than it already is, aight? Seeya!" Quicksilver called, already halfway across the distance between us and his huge purple friend. Nobody saw where he came from. Metal Black Hole seemingly just appeared from within the swarm of Gearteeth, claws out, lunging in Quicksilver's direction. This being Quicksilver, he stepped off Metal Black Hole's extended arm, used his head as a second foothold, and frontflipped over his swinging tailblade, a taunt on his lips. It was as he was flipped upside-down, with no control over his direction, that Metal Scythe shifted into position alongside him, armblade drawn back, the rocket thrusters built into it firing up for a high-speed swing that even Quicksilver couldn't dodge. SKLRRRTCH Quicksilver flopped bonelessly to the ground, a wordless sound of pain ripping itself from his throat, and two smaller thuds followed as his legs fell to the ground to either side of him. The world seemed to slow to a crawl for a moment as it sunk in. "Hah! Nice hit, bro!" Metal Black Hole crowed, as Metal Scythe lumbered menacingly toward the fallen White Pikmin, brandishing his now bloody blade. "What say we go for the finishing blow?" "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" came Juggernaut's thundering bellow, as he took one huge step forward and swung his hammer at the offending machines. Metal Black Hole dodged out of the way, while Metal Scythe deployed his black shield, deflected the blow, and stepped in the slam his armblade into Juggernaut's midsection, producing a grunt from the massive Purple. "Hey, two for one! Hold him still!" Metal Black Hole shouted, diving in towards Juggernaut's head. He never got there, as something zipped out of the brush to slam into him at high speed, sending the bot tumbling, coming to a rest only to find his flesh and blood counterpart atop him. Black Hole seemingly had nothing to say to him, emitting only a roar of fury as he went straight for Metal Black Hole's optics. "Ugh, your timing is impeccable..." Metal Scythe snarled, withdrawing his armblade and snapping it open like a pair of scissors, reaching toward Juggernaut's neck... which was when an arcane beam, a bolt of lava, and a wave of watery spears slammed into him all at once as Hero Squad moved in. Orvtre, Rune and myself stopped to cover Quicksilver, but Vashj ran ahead, after Metal Scythe. "Quicksilver! s***... s*** s*** s***!" I swore up and down. I'm not a goddamn medic, I have no earthly clue how to treat someone for severed limbs! "f***... did we f*** this up?" Orvtre questioned, raising a shield as a few stray shots came from where Black Hole and Vashj were fighting the two mechs. "Definitely not," Rune replied quietly. "Look at where the cut is." It was kinda hard to tell, what with all the blood and Quicksilver writhing in agony, but something about that spot... wait. "Those things he's got on his legs..." I muttered. Present Quicksilver's wearing those things on his calves, in precisely that spot. My eyes widened and I snapped my head up towards Juggernaut. "Omicron... Juggernaut, you need to get him to Omicron!" I urged him. Juggernaut stared for only a moment before nodding in understanding. Gingerly, he reached down to scoop up Quicksilver and his severed limbs, then enfolded his hands over him to keep him covered. With a final nod of thanks, he charged off, moving as fast as he possibly could. Faster than I'd known he could move. That was when a pair of expletives arose from Black Hole and Vashj, as both Metals suddenly shifted again... directly to Juggernaut. A smattering of Gearteeth shifted into place with them. "Acceleration!" Orvtre called out immediately, dispensing a speed buff to everyone present. We all took off at once. "I'll cover Juggernaut, just clear the rest of them out!" "Who the hell are these three? What the hell was that warp s***?" Black Hole growled, just as unfriendly as I remember. "Time shenanigans!" All four members of Hero Squad replied at once. Black Hole grunted and didn't ask any further questions. @-Rune-@ I let loose a barrage of arcane beams to clear out the Gearteeth ahead as Orvtre put up shields to protect Quicksilver and Juggernaut. Since it would be a few moments before the Vashj, the summons, and Black Hole would make it to Juggernaut's location, I decided to slow down the metallic battalion, this time with a spell entangling the enemies with masses of tree roots. Unfortunately, while this hampered the Gearteeth a great deal, this barely slowed down the Metal duo, who lunged at Juggernaut with their blades. Orvtre blocked Metal Scythe's namesake with Gurgurant and the Prism Cannon, being shoved back by that before Vashj fired several high-speed water droplets and a water spear at him, while Juggernaut tried to hit him with a shoulder bash. Metal Scythe sneered at them and put up that black shield again, but as the water projectiles impacted the barrier, they hit the same spot, compounding damage to one area of the shield. Orvtre's knack for teamwork was uncanny, as shi picked up on this, having gone into a diving rocket charge that ended with hir stabbing Gurgurant through the affected spot on the shield, piercing through it and impaling Metal Scythe. The machine Scythe hissed at them in response to the injury. He gave Orvtre a face full of gunfire and missiles, clubbed hir in the torso with his club tail, and then released more of those oblong, spiked metallic objects from his tail. Noting that the shrapnel wouldn't bother Juggernaut or hir that much, Orvtre settled for having a clone put up a barrier while Orvtre hirself returned fire with a point-blank Prism Cannon blast to the face. Meanwhile, I caught Metal Black Hole's claws on my staff, using the force from the lunge to create distance from him, blasting him with several frost beams to slow him down. He returned fire with various gunfire and missiles, and then slashed at me with his claws, wings and tailblade. Taking several slashes from those, I ducked underneath the rest of those and jammed my staff into MBH's midsection, a massive arcane beam and blast of wind forcing him back. He fired more missiles and bullets at me and Juggernaut, but before he could follow up on that, MBH turned around, swatting the reef spear out of the air that Hydross threw at him. Hydross himself caught up with MBH shortly thereafter, and attempted to stab MBH with his bone blade. Metal Black Hole parried that, but a timely assist from the summons which had caught up meant that MBH was now faced with a barrage of lightning vibroblade shots, fire-electric melty lances, and darkness blasts from the copies of the strange, Asura-like cyborg beast with dozens upon dozens of arms. Metal Black Hole snarled, retaliating and slicing through the majority of the copies, but one of them managed to grab the fallen reef spear and stab him with it, while Hydross used his bone blade to slash at MBH. The metallic enemy repelled Hydross and the strange cyborg beast copies, but that gave me enough time to finish preparing my big attack. "Arcane Zanber!" I roared, generating a massive blade of arcane power on the end of my staff and then swinging down, resulting in a massive slash that slammed into MBH and created a sizeable gorge in the ground below. |
#Vashj# Metal Black Hole being cratered meant the rest of us could turn our attention directly to Metal Scythe. Bonus, Black Hole lagging behind meant that when MBH tried to climb out of the hole he was set upon immediately by his flesh and blood counterpart, alongside a bunch of summoned creatures. That ought to keep him off our backs for a while. Speeding ahead to catch back up with Juggernaut, we found Metal Scythe still going at it with Orvtre, the large metal scythe clashing against Orvtre's oddly-shaped sword repeatedly while MS tried everything else he could to get at Juggernaut. As I caught up first, I introduced myself to the exchange with spinning roundhouse to push Metal Scythe out of melee range, where he was immediately set upon by Hydross decking him in the face with his electric claw. That blow stunned him enough for Rune, still lagging a bit behind, to set up and charge. "Marble Twister!" Rune roared, a black and white corkscrew beam lancing out from her staff. Metal Scythe's black shield came up a moment before impact and faltered almost instantly, as the rotating beam carried him forward and past Juggernaut, into the distance. "Did that get him?" I asked cautiously, landing atop Juggernaut's back. Hydross landed next to me, weapons still at the ready. Good thing too, as both of the Metalheads 'shifted' again, this time appearing in front of Juggernaut. "Go for the throat, let's finish him off!" MBH yelled, as both machine menaces lunged directly for Juggernaut's head. "Water Gate! Great Ocean Barrier!" Orvtre shouted in return, a massive wall of water forming around Juggernaut in an instant. The Metals slammed into it, but rather than being deterred both simply kicked on the afterburners in an attempt to push through. Water... plenty of water. "Hydross! Help me out here!" I urged, cupping my hands together at my side. He caught on quickly, using his greater control over water to begin pulling water from the shield to me. Orvtre caught on a second later and repositioned hirself behind me. "Upsilon, you can help too! Electric Gate!" shi called, directing a stream of electricity into the forming ball of water. "Hero Squad Combo Attack!" "Thundervolt... ULTRAMARINE!" I supplied the name myself, launching a massive 'beam' of swirling, electrified water at the two Metal copies, who hadn't had the time to upll away from the shield and dodge. There was a great deal of metallic screeching before I exhausted the entire water supply, followed by two loud thuds as the Metalheads fell to the ground. Juggernaut didn't stop for a moment, stomping through the now-soaked mud ahead of him, heedless of the thick mist that had fallen over the area in the wake of that massive torrent of water. The four of us hopped off his back and watched him go until he'd disappeared into the mist, then turned back to the damaged Metals. They weren't exactly in great condition; Metal Scythe's right side had basically been blasted off, and Metal Black Hole's left likewise. Even then they were still moving. "f***ing-ing-ing-ing-ing..." MBH sputtered, attempting to pull himself up, before both he and Metal Scythe took a large blade through their heads. Black Hole stepped out of the mist then and twisted his tails, s***tering the impaled craniums. "Restoring... to... backup..." echoed from Metal Scythe's chassis before both went completely still. Orvtre took this moment to step forward and sift through the trail of broken bits they'd left in their wake after the attack. "Now... that that's dealt with... how about you lot explain yourselves properly?" Black Hole demanded, narrowing his eyes at us. "Hmmm. Well, we would," Orvtre began, standing up with two shining specks clenched between hir fingers, "But I'm afraid we simply haven't the time." Everything s***tered away like glass before Black Hole could react to that. Elsewhere... Mithril's eyes snapped open, to stare upward at a clear blue sky. At least there wasn't some massive storm this time. Looking side to side revealed she was in the middle of a very large... crater? It kinda looked like a crater, but this craggy landscape was too rough for an impact crater. A quick check of her Hero Band before she got up... still no comms, still no teleport. Great. What was working was the coordinate finder. A coordinate finder which told her she was currently somewhere in Dusty Desert. Here, Mithril stood up, looked around, and even created a few clones to search about the craggy landscape. There was not even a single grain of sand here. Not a one. "Alright. So if I'm in Dusty Desert, then WHERE'S THE f***ING DESERT?!" she demanded, to no response. A quick check of the ground she was standing on revealed what she'd suspected: bedrock. Someone had stolen the entire desert. One of her clones pinged her, and one quick sprint brought her to within viewing distance of an answer. It was far enough to have been beyond the horizon from where she'd started, but what she saw up there was very clearly a floating island. A very big floating island. Country-sized. Definitely not ominous at all. But rather more importantly, she could sense a point of energy there, just like the one that had come from that crazy version of Striker. There was another shard somewhere on that floating island. It was a long and boring flight to get there, even at the speed Mithril could attain, but as she approached she began to pick out details. The island appeared to be a mish-mash of terrain features. Sand, grassland, a mountain, a huge sea, a glacier?! Whoever had made this had apparently gone about stealing entire locations from around the map. 'Major "Evil Overlord" vibes, here,' Mithril noted. Large as it was, there were several cities dotted about it, structures crafted of a wide variety of materials. The shard seemed to be in a glass city within the desert area. More specifically in the huge fortress at the center of that city. Coming in for a landing on one of the fortress parapets, Mithril took a moment to note the total lack of any kind of proximity alarm. 'Really lax security,' she thought, a second before a wave of invisible beams slammed into her and the floor around her. 'Ooooooor really quiet alarms.' It was actually kind of creepy, how none of the people that had come to attack her spoke at all. Barely made a sound, even when she knocked a few of them unconscious with a few rapid-fire strikes. Keeping with the whole Evil Overlord theme, they were all clad in full-body armor. No weapons, though, they just kind of pointed at her and beams of force came flying. Psychic attacks? Didn't matter, they all went down the same as anyone else. The shard's energy signature was moving out of the fortress, so rather than fight wave after wave of psionic troops, Mithril simply blasted her way through the building towards that signature, which she shortly found was being carried away by another faceless trooper. When she tackled this one, he actually yelled out. "No! I found the relic! The Overlord will reward me! MEEE!" he yelled, still pinned as Mithril reached down and pulled the shard from his grip. That had been easy enough. Proving immediately that it was never "easy enough", the shard and the Pikmin she'd pinned abruptly vanished. "My, my. How rude, barging in and taking what doesn't belong to you," came a familiar voice. Mithril whipped her head around to spot a White Pikmin facing away from her, shard held in one hand, the soldier she'd tackled sprawled out beside him. Hanging from his head was a spiked white orb. "Quicksilver...?" Mithril whispered. "What an interesting thing to say!" the Mark II replied, turning on the spot to reveal glimmering purple eyes, "After all... my name is Hyperline." <]-Mithril-[> With the recent memory of that crazy version of Striker powering up maniacally due to the shard, time was of the essence; I had initially planned on getting over with this quickly with speed and surprise. Rush in, grab the shard, warp out. That was the plan. I should have known it would never be that easy. Alternate Quicksilver, or, as he goes by here, Hyperline, is perhaps one of the worst people to have grabbed the shard here; it will be difficult to wrest the shard from his grasp. The question here is, how violent am I gonna go to retrieve that shard? The key factors here are this Overlord's morality and power. Morality: While this place indeed looks like something out of an Evil Overlord's imagination, I don't actually have hard proof that the Overlord that the soldier mentioned is evil. If I go in extremely violently nukes blazing, and the Overlord turns out to be someone who is good or neutral, yeah that would suck. Power: If it's someone around the power level of Gear or something, I probably wouldn't have to go for something as extreme as immediately going nuke, and can just conceal my hand and avoid unnecessarily revealing information about my powerset and abilities. However, if this Overlord turns out to be someone who is both evil AND someone powerful like, say, an evil version of Omicron, going in extremely violently nukes blazing is justified to prevent evil powerful Overlord from getting a ridiculous escalating powerup like that crazy version of Striker did. To elaborate on why Hyperline AKA notQuicksilver is one of the worst people to have grabbed the shard here; well he's so f***ing fast and can very very quickly put the shard in a heavily guarded place difficult for me to reach, among other speedster shenanigans. The only saving grace is he appears to be sticking around briefly to stall for time before backup arrives, and potentially to try and gather more information about me. I might as well take this chance to try and get some more information about this "Overlord". "Precisely who is this 'Overlord' that this soldier spoke of?" I asked Hyperline, throwing several metal boomerangs at him. Dodging those projectiles, Hyperline played coy without giving me a direct answer, replying, "Oh my. Do you not know? Ohohohohoho, well... I imagine you'll find out soon enough." "Are you and/or this 'Overlord' evil?" I asked him flatly. "Pssshaw. 'Good' and 'Evil' are nothing more than a point of view. The angle you're looking from determines what they are, and there are so many angles... But from MY angle? I'm gonna have to go with no," Hyperline responded. As unhelpful as ever I see. Well, might as well try the bulls*** option, to see if I can con him into letting me 'borrow' the shard for the few seconds I need. That, or use that time to charge up an attack to blast him if necessary. Since I haven't confirmed that he's evil just yet, I've decided to emphasize speed on this particular charged attack. Anyways... "I am an archaeologist from another planet sent to retrieve relics and study them for the force of Good," I claimed, making up a bulls*** story on the spot to try and trick him. "If you could only spare that relic for a few seconds or so so I can examine it from all angles..." "Hm hm. Perhaps... after the Overlord is done examining it. We wouldn't want any... unfortunate mishaps before my friend here gets his finder's reward, yes?" "Speaking of mishaps, the previous fleshlings exposed to such a relic have developed cancerous growths and... other abnormalities. It is advisable to hand over the relic temporarily so I can put it in a protective container," I lied. "Sounds like an even better reason to bring it to the Overlord. Not only would he be capable of containing it, but also of curing any such... abnormalities." |
"The previous fleshlings who attempted such a feat have died from complications. What makes you think that your 'Overlord' will succeed where others have failed?" "The Overlord can accomplish anything he puts his mind to. Raising the lands into the heavens, uniting the world under a single banner, cleansing the Black Pikmin of their malignant god's influence, slaying the Old Gods, even driving out the fanatical servants of the Galactic Gods! There is nowhere we cannot go, nothing we cannot accomplish!" ... Either Hyperline is utterly and completely delusional, or this Overlord is genuinely a powerful person. Furthermore, this "uniting the world under a single banner" thing is very ominous... I'm activating Metal Gate; this has the potential to be very bad. "I apologize fleshling, but it is nearly too late for you. The relic appears to have corrupted your mind and given you plenty of delusions. You are likely to die soon," I whispered, glaring at him. "Please hand over the relic so I can seal it before it results in your death." Hyperline's smirk grew into a more mocking, sinister sneer. "Amusing as it is, I cannot help but wonder how much longer you're going to indulge me in this little game." At this point, I fired the attack I was charging at Hyperline, but the sneer on his face remained plastered there. Furthermore, he didn't even dodge the attack, as one of his allies came in, blocking the attack with a barrier made of some kind of substance. "Ah, would you look at that, it would seem you're just in time Dark Matter! Deal with this... amusing invader, would you? I have a pair of deliveries to make," said Hyperline, before speeding off. "Amusing, he says... we'll see about that," Dark Matter muttered, before he fired some projectiles at me. ... This "Dark Matter" looks similar to Black Hole. That said, I don't think Black Hole could make constructs out of whatever that substance is. Anyways, the longer this drags on, the more time they have to gather reinforcements, and the more likely it is for that "Overlord" to learn too much about that shard. I have to get the shard back. And to do that, I have to crush Dark Matter. With Metal Gate, or even with my nuclear supermode if necessary. I don't have enough time to dwaddle here. I blasted Dark Matter's projectiles out of the air, and then unloaded a hellish barrage of attacks onto him, aiming to put him down ASAP. The quicker I beat this guy, the better. |
Dark Matter The precog arrays said nothing about an attack. A direct warning from the troops is the only reason I'm here. What an irritating interruption... This is clearly a powerful invader, however, judging by her opening salvo. Metal control... I believe I am well-suited to counter this. A cacophony of whirling threads of dark matter burst up around me, and rather than weave them into anything just yet I simply spun them in the face of the incoming attack, slicing each of the incoming projectiles out of the air. Only once her salvo had been shot down did I weave the threads into a collection of Bulbears, then tethered them together with lightning and sent them after her. Her response, somewhat surprisingly, was to generate a large number of vehicles - trucks, motorcycles, buses - all equipped with laser cannons, to run the bulbears down, resulting in a series of explosions as it all clashed. No good outcome if I don't intervene, so I slammed my hands to the floor and began to generate more dark matter, spreading it across the ground and then growing large dark matter 'vines' through the metallic vehicles. Certain I'd gotten all of them, I twisted the vines together and wove them into a massive, multi-headed Creeping Crysanthemum. The Crysanthemum was almost immediately beheaded by a series of flying axes, but each neck stump simply regrew two heads that lunged towards the invader, stretching in manners that would be impossible for an actual Creeping Crysanthemum. Generating a pair of blades, the invader set about severing these as well, even as the dark matter plant regrew more and more heads. This shortly left it with a lot of heads and not much body as material was shifted... which is when those heads started spewing out acid clouds and bullet seeds in all directions. I, meanwhile, had busied myself growing more dark matter 'plants' all over the building. Having completed my set-up, I linked them together with electricity, forming a huge electric "net" over the building. If the invader wants to leave, she's in for a brutal shock. <]-Mithril-[> Virtually all that I know about Black Hole comes from secondhand sources. That said, he never struck me as someone who'd willingly become an Overlord's stooge. The troops I fought beforehand were probably using psionic attacks, so if Dark Matter here is this timeline's counterpart to Black Hole, my hypothesis is that Dark Matter was brainwashed by the Overlord and made to become his servant. As for whether or not to go for the kill, I should point out that Dark Matter is a Black Pikmin, and thus connected to the evil god Zeromus. Additionally, the Overlord he serves is probably evil and very probably very powerful. Going for the kill here is very much justified. Since I'd imagine that Dark Matter would just make replacement organs if I destroyed his heart or lungs or whatever, I think the key to killing him would be to destroy his brain. The faster the better. The most immediate problem here are the acid clouds and bullet seeds that are being fired in my direction. I said fired in my direction because I simply ignored the ones that weren't heading towards me, of course. For the ones that were headed my way I simply sent a few trucks ahead of me to soak up some of the acid and bullet seeds, and for the ones that the trucks missed a few gaseous metal wind-blasts to deflect those sufficed. I had the trucks fire my clones at Dark Matter, with said clones using various attacks to bait out Dark Matter's close range combat capabilities. Turns out he's pretty damn strong; as he was handily able to catch one of the motorcycles that a clone swung down at him, before extending his claws to impale the clone and electrocute it. Another clone attempted to decapitate him with one of the axes lying around, but he bisected it with one of his tailblades before impaling it in the head with an electrified vine. A third one attempted to bash his face in with a large rocket hammer, but he caught the hammer by the head, impaled the clone with his other tailblade, and then slammed the clone into the ground. Still, despite Dark Matter's strength, he isn't as crazy strong as Grand Phantasm Trombe was, meaning that destroying Dark Matter's brain via close range combat may still be a viable option. Deciding to follow up on that, I had the various pieces of metal lying around coalesce around Dark Matter in the form of chains, which he melted off with heat from the electricity in short order. Speaking of the electricity, it is likely that when I decide to go in for melee to take his head, he's gonna try and grab me to electrocute the hell out of me. I can exploit that. Readying myself to detach any limbs on short notice, I also prepared some explosive power to give him a nasty surprise and give myself another opening to strike after this one. Going molten to burn the hell out of him after the explosive surprise will come after that and will deter grappling. Speaking of explosive surprises, it would be hilarious if I managed to finish Dark Matter off with my own version of Blades of Blood... There is also the option of avoiding direct melee and just blasting his head off with ranged weaponry, like lasers, cannons, and various other guns, but I'll leave that to some of my clones, at least for now. As Dark Matter fended off the trucks headed his way with a wall of plant and creature constructs, I had the heads of the trucks shift into sharp ramming heads, bashing a hole through the plant and creature construct wall which I rushed through. This was still right after I had my clones attack him and had the chains attempt to tie him up, so hopefully that would be enough of an opening for me to stab Dark Matter in the head with my "Iron Impaler!", a spear I constructed for the purpose of impaling him in the head, destroying his brain, and making him very dead. Somehow I do not think that it will go that smoothly, but here's to hoping that I get a quick kill. I really want to get rid of Dark Matter before backup arrives. |
Dark Matter Going for my head, hmm... Allowing that to strike me would be... unpleasant. Yes, let's do something about that, shall we? A quick shift in the composition of my dark matter should suffice. The effect was immediate and fairly obvious, a thick, cloying orange cloud dispersing from my body, followed immediately by a creaking metallic hiss emerging from the chains that had bound me up. The intruder plunged into the cloud only briefly before backing off, shedding a large volume of rust flakes as she did. Seems she has a means of isolating damaged parts of her body... interesting. A quick flex was sufficient to s***ter the now rusted chains, and I took the opportunity to draw back, producing a pair of oversized Cannon Beetles. Rather than those wimpy boulder cannons, though, I gave these bad boys railguns and heavily armored shells. The intruder produced more vehicles to send at them, blasting away with lasers, but a quick shift to the composition of their armor made them reflective as well. A few shots of their railguns was enough to clean up the vehicles, followed by opening fire on the intruder. She took to dodging out of sight, so I sent the beetles after her. "I must admit I'm curious. The precog arrays didn't report you, and I can't seem to decide who you're here on behalf of... The Seekers would not dare attack the Empire directly, so I can count that out... You don't seem to be a member of the Void Remnant, not nearly enough gibbering..." I mused aloud, perching my chin atop one of my hands. A barrage of metallic implements came flying around the corner towards my location. None struck, but her accuracy is quite impressive, hmm... I stuck my hand into the net of dark matter plants I'd grown around the building and was quickly whisked away, traveling at high speed through the net to another room. "You're certainly not a Black Pikmin, I can tell that right away; I don't feel the gestalt within you at all. Might you be... a member of the Correctors?" I called out, my voice echoing through the halls. That got a massive, heavily empowered javelin thrown in my direction, tearing through several walls and one of the Cannon Beetles in the process. It missed me, but it did poke a big hole in my net. Replacing that, I began growing some new flower bulbs on the net's inside. "Don't compare me with those scum!" came a very angry shout from the intruder, a second javelin proceeding to obliterate the other Cannon Beetle now that she knew it was effective. "Haha, touched a nerve, did I? Well, if not them... hoho, don't tell me you're with the Resistance?" I prodded, but got no response. Hmm. "Well, I suppose we'll learn your affiliation when the Overlord pries open your mind... or whatever's left of it, anyway. Death of Obsidian Spectralids." The flower buds opened, and out poured a ceaseless torrent of dark matter spectralids, their wings sharpened to razors. As they emerged, I linked each and every one of them together with lightning, then promptly vacated the net as it turned into a localized storm, the massive cloud of spectralids within obscuring the insides from view. The building will absolutely need repairs after this... but that's what the drones are for.
