Heads and officials of more than 50 countries, international institutions and organisations and some regional personalities expressed their sympathy by sending messages to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the government and the people of our country following the martyrdom of the president in the helicopter crash.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa, President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, Sultan of Oman Haitham Bin Tariq, Emir of Qatar Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, King Abdullah of Jordan, and President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed Bin Zayed, are among the leaders of the countries who expressed their condolences on the martyrdom of Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and expressed their sympathy and solidarity with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the government and people of Iran.
In his condolence message, Russian President Vladimir Putin described Martyr Dr Raisi as an outstanding politician, respected among the Iranian nation and having a strong and powerful position at the international level, who devoted his whole life to serving the country.
Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of South Africa, while condoling the demise of Dr Raisi to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the people of Iran, describing the loss of the beloved president of Iran as a sad tragedy.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated in his condolence message, "As a colleague who personally witnessed the efforts of my dear brother Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi for the peace of the people of Iran and the region during his tenure, I remember him with respect and gratitude".
In his condolence message, the President of Sri Lanka expressed his condolences to the people of Iran and announced that he is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and other officials accompanying him.
Vahagn Khachaturyan, the President of Armenia, while expressing his sympathy and cooperation with the people of Iran, expressed his deep sorrow following the loss of Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, the late President of Iran.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of Lebanon Najib Mikati, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan, Nechervan Barzani the President and Masrour Barzani the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Charles Michel, President of the Council of Europe, Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Secretary General of the Arab League, Member of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen and Spokesperson of the National Salvation Government of Yemen, foreign ministers of Russia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Malaysia, Armenia, Switzerland, Norway, Afghanistan and the spokesperson of the government of Japan also expressed their sympathy with the government and people of Iran and condoled the martyrdom of our country's president.
In addition, the Islamic Resistance of Palestine (Hamas), the Islamic Jihad of Palestine and Hashd al-Shaabi of Iraq, Sayyid Ammar Hakim, the Leader of the National Wisdom Movement of Iraq, Mouqtada Sadr, the leader of the Sadrist Movement, and the secretary general of the Sayyid al-Shuhada battalions of Iraq and Abdullah Abdullah, one of the well-known figures of Afghanistan, also sent messages following the martyrdom of Dr Raisi and expressed their condolences and sympathy and solidarity with the government and people of Iran.
The governments of Lebanon, Syria, India and Pakistan, in addition to sending messages of condolence, have also announced public mourning in their countries from one to three days.
The United Nations office in Geneva also raised the flag of our country at half-mast in the headquarters of this organisation as a sign of sympathy with the Iranian nation.
