Dungeons:Illageralt
Note:
- Add more locations where illageralt runes can be found.
- In the appearance section, describe the form of how it is written.
Illageralt is a type of runic script used by illagers that can be found within the various missions of Minecraft Dungeons.
Description[edit | edit source]
Illageralt is an alphabetic writing system, meaning there are characters for both vowels and consonants. There are 26 letters corresponding to the 26 letters of the basic Latin alphabet, there are also 10 characters corresponding the Arabic numerals 0 to 9, as well as 4 characters for punctuation purposes, serving as exclamation, question, full stop and comma marks, for a total of 40 characters, known themselves as "illageralt". Because the terms for the characters and the writing system are the same, the former is written in sentence case ("illageralt"), while the later is capitalised ("Illageralt").

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Many illageralt characters resemble those of the Standard Galactic Alphabet, which is used in Minecraft itself.
- Illageralt was added into Java Edition in the 1.18 update, but can only be used via the command
./tellraw@a {"text":"Minecraft Dungeons","font":"illageralt"} - Before Illageralt existed, Telltale Games used the term Villagerese in Minecraft Story Mode - Season Two to refer to the language of the Villagers. It is, however, unknown if it is or is not the same language as Illageralt since Illageralt did not exist during the making of Minecraft Story Mode.[8]
- On the official Minecraft Earth Twitter page, the term villager-speak is mentioned in relation to the language of the Villagers.[9]
