Initiatives to prevent harassment
About KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre Harassment Prevention Initiatives - Aiming to be a theatre where people can trust each other and where everyone can gather safely and securely -
KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre strives to theatre harassment with the aim of being a theatre where people can trust each other and where everyone can gather in a safe and secure theatre . In addition to encouraging reading, distribution, and posting of information, we have established and are operating a harassment consultation desk for those involved.
In addition, KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre provides Kanagawa residents and other customers with opportunities to become familiar with art and culture, supports a spiritually enriching living environment, and is a place for the creation and communication of art and culture. It is a place for the creation of performing arts and contemporary art, as well as a place for performances and presentations, a place for human resource development, and a place for interaction between prefectural residents. In order for KAAT, a so-called "plaza" for art and culture, to be a place where everyone, including customers, can feel comfortable and gain the strength to live, we have been involved in theatre management and the theatre's sponsored projects. We would like to ask all of you who rent our theater, as well as those who rent our theatre, to do the following.
- In a theatre, people with various roles are involved in the creation and performance in their own ways. Each person has their own values and way of thinking. Understand that people can differ greatly in their words, actions, and the way they perceive things. Even words and actions that are not intended may be perceived as hurting a person's dignity and personality. To prevent this from happening, always maintain a sense of respect for the behavior and ways of thinking of those you work with when communicating with them.
- In the theatre, there are various decisions and instructions based on them. This is necessary to a certain extent in the creative field, and hierarchical relationships are likely to occur depending on roles, experience, and age. However, we must be aware of this when conducting our work to ensure that the physical and mental safety of those we work with is not compromised due to such dominant positions or abuse of rights.
- Experience and skills vary from person to person. Directly blaming those who don't know or can't do it will not lead to creative or healthy work. Instead of blaming others, try to provide instructions, guidance, and advice that will lead to the improvement of each individual and the safety and quality of work.
- In order to make communication work for safe and secure work, it is important to clarify what is shared by those working together (rules and work objectives). Try to share it, and if you are not able to share it, communicate with the assumption that it is not.
- Let's create an environment where people can exchange opinions and have dialogue as equals, regardless of their attributes or beliefs.
Lack of such consideration can lead to harassment.
Harassment is defined as speech or behavior that causes physical or mental pain to another person or damages their dignity, speech or behavior that harms the safety and security of another person, or behavior that is prohibited under certain conditions depending on the response to such speech or behavior. A general term for acts that provide benefits.
KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre aims to be a place where there is no harassment, where people can trust each other, and where everyone can gather safely and securely. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
