This appears more feminine to me than than any of the perfumes from PDM labeled as Unisex

Creamy nutty and cozy. Ideal for cold weather or cold summer days. You feel like a Vanilla latte. Thats what i get. Unisex. Its kind a soft scent, good but soft. So dont expect loud results. Definitely office safe. For me, last a good 8 hours. Similar to Guerlain L'homme Ideal (EDT) and Ferragamo Uomo. I personally like those 2 better.
(Testing is from a 1.5 ml sample atomizer from PDM)

I received this as a gift and was not a fan... tried it for several days and just couldn't find a use for it. Fast forward one full year, and suddenly I thoroughly enjoy it. It's my vacation day-time travel scent. Light enough to wear in an elevator without people sniffling, but noticeable enough for random women to tell me I smell good and ask me what I'm wearing.

8.5/10.

Vanilla with a bitter almond. Very unique so do not blindbuy.

Smells good, very interesting fragrance from PDM house, tried Layton and Pegasus Exclusif and this is more comfortable to wear any occasion.
Took me a while to appreciate Pegasus after extensive comparison to Gucci Elixir which is similar in main accords, but each are unique and different. Performance is great, about 6 to 8 hours and then disappears, I wanted something similar to my first fragrance Prada L'homme, something powdery and not heavy or cloying since I easily develop headaches, but this is soft yet masculine. Only critique is that is expensive, but this shit is damn good.

Clean vanilla, slightly balsamic is what I get from this. Smells nice and I appreciate the scent but... doesn't really wow me.

One of the most underrated fragrances of all time, yet it is so unique...

"Not suitable for those who like darker, more masculine fragrances." Really now? I'm a Mathilde Laurent disciple with Roadster, Pasha De Cartier Reserve, her incredible LES HEURES VOYAGEUSES OUD & SANTAL sprayed on my chest for good measure. In other words the manliest of scents. Yet I'll tell ya Pegasus is a weekly visit from me for it's luscious creamy almond vanilla nutty fruity woody (vanilla predominant) and other scents that simply have me addicted. Silage, projection, and longevity are excellent. Love the stuff!!!

i'm wearing this as a woman because my dad gave me the rest of his bottle and i love smelling like him, so comforting. this is definitely a masculine fragrance, but the right kind of woman can pull it off. it's a fresh scent but not "clean" fresh, it's complex, mysterious, and inviting

share

if you want the best clone of this it's most definitely Portfolio Royale Stallion.

Very soft, it's a clean and safe smell, I'd relate it to Myslf by YSL, it has that white floral and sweet softness, the lavender and metallicky smell even reminds me of sauvage, but not harsh or synthetic at all. as a man I feel it's totally wearable but it's unisex still, works as an everyday fragrance, not too sweet for the summer and not too fresh for the winter, very good but smells designer.
8/10, 6/10 considering the niche price point.

Took some time to appreciate this scent. A unique take on vanilla. 8/10

Pegasus has an incredibly boring scent to me. I mistakenly blind-bought this fragrance after seeing so many influencers in the fragrance space raving about this perfume. Despite Pegasus' outstanding blend, its scent is mild and uninspiring. For an expensive and strong fragrance, it delivers a sleek and unembellished scent. While its smoothness could be appreciated, which is certainly done in Parfum de Marly's aim to create mass-appealing fragrances, it comes off as jejune to perfume snobs like myself. It does deliver compliments, typically in the form of "smells expensive". Certainly not as entertaining to perfume lovers as other releases from the brand, and for the prices they're charging these days, I'd personally advise to look at other houses.

Vanilla almond latte, with added woodyness. It’s alright. One of the least interesting Parfum de Marlys.

Eau de Cornichon

I find most almond scents pretty annoying and this is probably the worst offender. It's sweet, but not in a nice way, it's just sticky vanilla, and something about it comes across as metallic and almost boozy. Overall it smells a bit sickly to me, especially during the opening. Dries down to a slightly more manageable soapy thing.

If you like sweet scents and almonds then this is probably fine but I'm not feeling it.

parfumerieOG

Man this is a weird fragrance. I bought this a few days ago and the first two days I used it I thought it smelled like rubber but I tried it again today and wow is it nice. A great almond/vanilla fragrance with awesome projection. I don't know why it suddenly smells so different but I can only assume the first couple sprays were stale or something. Many people dislike this fragrance but I think its really nice. While its not PDM's best, it is still top 5 for me. It is very unique and makes for an awesome fall/winter fragrance.

Price: 5.5/10 (very expensive but it is a very nice fragrance)
Longevity: 10/10 (lasts all day)
Projection: 10/10 (projects really well)
Smell: 8/10 (very unique but quite nice, sometimes it takes a little getting used to)

I have always said to myself this one will probably grow on me. Or surely it smells better in the air. But does it? There just seems to be this strong almost headache inducing stinch when smelled up close that I dislike & am afraid if I ever accidentally over sprayed it others would smell that very thing! It’s hard to explain what it is I don’t like in this one & why I feel I might could possibly give someone a headache if they were trapped in a car with me or something..I know myself & tend to over spray from time to time..It’s one thing to wear what you want and not give a damn, And another to make someone nautious lol..Again always thought it might would grow on me.. But sampled it enough over the years I don’t believe ill ever be giving it the chance.

share

bradyyy

When I first sprayed it, I was unimpressed but wow, has this one ever grown on me!

When I was a young lad, my favorite flavor of cake was an extremely niche and olden regional flavor called ‘teaberry’ which has an extremely unique and subtle minty flavor. Named after tiny pink candies sold in the 1900s. My grandma used to make me a teaberry cake every year for my birthday. You may be saying hm… mint… seems an odd flavor for a cake, and you would be right. But it’s also delicious. And it’s equally good as an ice cream flavor. If you’re ever nearby Penn State University, try a teaberry waffle cone from Meyer Dairy. All of the above foods have a lovely pink color too, I might add.

Anyway… I realized that this smells exactly the same way that the teaberry cake and teaberry ice cream of my youth tasted and smelled.

So this one, for perpetually recalling such a beautiful memory, will always have a special place in my heart.

Apart from that, after spending some time with it, I realize that this truly is a fougere. Which is not, at least to me, instantly to be expected, given the prominent cake-y accords of almond and vanilla.

This one is really a master of contradictions because In addition, despite its cake-yness…it isn’t overly sweet at all. Although it focuses on almond and vanilla, this one is distinctly masculine in my opinion.

And despite being a vanilla and almond based MEN’s scent (???) this one is fantastic in much warmer weather than you’d expect. Looking at the notes, I’d expect a winter fragrance. And I would also expect to hate it… I am absolutely not one for gourmands and sweet scents. Except this one isn’t offensive in warm spring or fall days… and I don’t hate it. I actually love it.

More than anything else with this scent, I can’t believe how much my opinion has changed in just a few wearings. That’s been true of several PdM’s for me though. This one is just a pleasure to smell. It’s like a gift every time I catch my own sillage. This one is a LOVE.

share

Riddler2112

On me, it’s very similar to Man Eau Fraiche by Versace and Dior Homme Cologne. I don’t get the almond vibe. More sharp, bitey citrus. Have been wearing for around three hours and still smells very linear to those two.
Not bad but if you have either one of these, owning another is redundant

Its very different and unqiue.. its not bad but its not a people pleaser. Reminds me of hotel soap w the vanilla almond combo. 7.5/10 its different and has me smelling it constantly due to the uniqueness

Pegasus is the second Parfums de Marly fragrance that I have added to my collection and it was instant love. What attracted me initially to it was the metallic, silver, shiny bottle!

Besides the eye catching bottle, the perfume is gorgeous! That if you love a bittersweet almondy, nutty, creamy, powdery, jasmine, vanilla based scents! This is not necessarily the most mass appealing scent of PDM, it smells quite different than most of vanilla almond focused perfumes from other brands but it is great for the certain category of perfume lovers mentioned above! The only perfumes that is somewhat similar to Pegasus from what I have tried is Dent de Lait by Serge Lutens, but Pegasus is certainly more accessible and easier to like because of the addition of vanilla and amber in the base.

It has some aromatic tones from the lavender, a sparkling citrusy note of bergamot, some woods in the base and the infamous note of cumin. None of these notes are at the forefront of this scent.

I would say give Pegasus a try even if you don’t particularly enjoy cumin in fragrances. It’s not my favourite notes either…

Performs well, it’s not as strong as Carlisle is, but it’s not a weak scent. Lasts on clothing an entire day with moderate sillage.

I would say it worth getting a bottle especially if you can get it during a sale, like I did with mine! For a full size bottle, 125 ml, this is not too badly priced!

As a side note, I don’t find Pegasus a masculine scent. I personally wear it as a female and I got asked several times about what I was wearing by other ladies, so I would say it’s quite unisex.

Alas I am not a heliotrope/white florals fan at all. I associate the combination with that ‘moth ball’ smell and for the life of me cant associate it with a niche sensory journey. The same is for Gucci Guilty Elixir, a recent clone of Pegasus that just goes into that florally abyss.
This leans a little more feminine to my nose.

Pegasus is my first ever niche fragrance, it has an elegant vanilla & almond scent that you can wear on cool days and you will smell incredible.

Smells like if you were to grab a brand new freshly washed button-down shirt and smear it with vanilla and almond. Super smooth, not very complex but all of the notes come together perfectly. Lasts 8-10 hours on my skin with a moderate projection. Not every fragrance needs to be a room filler guys 😂

Worth the money if you get it at a discounted price, don't pail retail and don't bother with Armaf Craze, Pegasus is much better.

share

Limatani

Its a very unique scent but I still love it. Smells like vanilla, almond, and white florals. There is a weird bitter note to it but it is still pleasant. My bottle and on my skin lasts an eternal amount of time.

powdery, synthetic vanilla. i would not call this "creamy" or "gourmand", like several reviewers have. it feels like a soapy nutty vanilla. it only gets better as it dries down. clean.

At first sniff I hated Pegasus, it smelled like metal with some almond and milk, but I came around on this fragrance.
I think its not metallic as much as I previously thought, to my nose its now way more nutty and milky which I enjoy big time.
This is a scent for younger guys and women as it is not dark at all.

Moving onto the third entry in my Parfums De Marly journey, Pegasus. This one isn't talked about as much, and the times it was mentioned it didn't rank high on the list compared to other PDM fragrances. Nonetheless I saw it offered by SB so I picked up a sample. Here's how it went;

Scent:
Opening is nutty, sweet, and floral. The primary notes I get are bitter almond, vanilla, lavender, and cumin. The strongest notes are the almond and vanilla. The almond note is very soft and nutty in a gourmand way while the vanilla is very natural smelling, like a vanilla bean pod, and brings complimenting sweetness. Following is the lavender and cumin. The lavender is powdery and floral while the cumin offers a very pungent, spicy bite that contrasts well with the rest of the notes. The dry down is nutty, sweet, and powdery. The primary notes I get are bitter almond, vanilla, amber, and sandalwood. The strongest of the notes are still the almond and vanilla with the same accords from the opening. Following is the amber and sandalwood. The amber amps up the sweetness in its typical, resinous fashion while the sandalwood offers a powdery and creamy woodiness to help accentuate the other notes.

Performance:
Initial projection is strong at around 6 feet. Sillage is strong as well with an easily noticeable scent trail. After a few hours the projection was around arms length and the scent trail was still easily noticeable. At the 8 hour mark the projection was right under arms length and the scent trail was slightly noticeable. Right around the 10 hour mark is when it became a skin scent.

When to wear:
This is a fall/winter fragrance that is suitable for daytime or evening wear. This would be a safe pick for the office when used in moderation, and a great pick for a date night.

Blind buy:
If you like nutty, almond fragrances like Guerlain's L'Homme Ideal range, or you just like sweet, vanillic, gourmand fragrances this is a safe blind buy for you.

Final verdict:
This is, so far, my favorite PDM fragrance. The scent itself smells deliciously gourmand, it has respectable performance, and it's a crowd pleaser from what I've experienced. What really won me over with this one is just how unique and enjoyable the scent is. It doesn't quite smell like anything else I have in my collection. The closest would probably be my bottle of Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EDP, but Pegasus is still a much better fragrance in my opinion. I will definitely be getting a full bottle of this when I can.

Nice creamy, nutty, vanilla fragrance. The almond and jasmine notes seem to be the star players. There's a coldness that's present throughout the whole time. However it becomes a bit too soapy and creamy for my taste but it's not offensive at all. I can see why it gets recommended as a nice beginner niche fragrance. Very pleasant .

share

Arxxz

This is a truly beautiful scent, powdery vanilla with the slight almond hint. My only gripe with this and many other PDM’s is the lack of longevity for the price. If the house didn’t offer so many almost perfect scent profiles it might put me off.

share

Bizzy1995

Heliotrope and bitter almond are very noticeable and give this an almond soapy vibe. You also get a hint of bergamot in the opening. The lavander gives it some freshness while the jasmine adds a light floral note. Vanilla and amber are present and the sandalwood offers a rounded out soft woodiness.

share

TupacAmaruShakur

Yes it does remind of Gucci Guilty Elixir but it's not as good, Gucci is better.

share

ASmellySmell

This one is definitely more unisex. Think baby lotion...specifically Baby Magic if i remember correctly. Not like johnson's brand. Anyway, i like it. I'm realizing i prefer scents that lean this way, light and powdery but still masuline. I don't like overly synthetic or strong scents. I want the ladies to wanna get close without getting overwhelmed by my cologne. I also don't want to make myself sick of smelling my own scent throughout the day. If that sounds like you then you should like this one.

share

H4jdm

Oh man this is good, Upon opening it was okay, don’t remember much but the dry down is where it hit differently for me. Such a pure, clean, soapy smell, it’s flowery, sweet, soft and just gorgeous. Gives me Gucci Elixir vibes.

share

jakerei

Got a decant of this to try out and I’m honestly pleasantly surprised by it after a few wears. A lot of the below reviews describe it as an “almond soap” scent, but I think it’s quite a bit more complex than that.

I do get the almond/vanilla notes, sure, but this is predominantly a floral scent on my skin. The heliotropes/jasmine really help give it a sort of airy and cool feeling that I’ve come to enjoy a lot (although I will admit it was sort of off-putting during my first wear).

I like this. Definitely not sure if I’d ever buy a full bottle of it, but I’ve got 5ml to go so we’ll see where I land near the end of it!

share

Max Rich

One of the best "beginner" niches. To me smells like fresh laundry with vanilla. 9/10 fragrance that all can enjoy.

share

Kyer

Wow!, it’s really different from everything I’ve smelled so far.

The bottle and the scent itself fit really well, the smell feels “silver”, meaning the fragrance feels like coldness, class, and money.
It’s hard to pick up the notes by themselves or even describe the smell but I definitely get like a cold, creamy and powdery vanilla with an airy almost ozonic or “metallic” feel to it, it’s just sooo different from everything I’ve smelled but in a good way, this makes me feel like a king walking around his castle.

It’s a smell that sounds weird when described but when you smell it just makes sense. Definitely better than Layton in my books and in my top 3 PdM fragrances. Projects loudly and lasts a long time so it’s a plus too! (Projects like 3-4 meters and lasts 10+ hours)

Cold, royal, metallic almond/vanilla.

share

lmnsvgz

Very different than what I expected - I thought it would be a lot softer, sweeter but it smells like a masculine version of Hypnotic Poison. The notes of almond are sharpened and the scent is very strong, masculine. The lavender makes it a bit aromatic, a little bit more earthy. But the overall scent is very good

share

midget11

Peggy! pure bliss…the creamy powdery almond immersed in fresh metallicness is just something else, you can literally smell the two opposite personalities juxtaposing, i’ve never smelt anything so simple yet so interesting, intriguing and unconventionally seductive; as another review states, it is indeed a technical masterpiece. Now this is niche! smells just like the bottle looks; there is a slight sharpness to the metallicness but the creamy almond manages to round the edges so perfectly the metal never gets overwhelming

I dont remember the performance being anything special when i first got it around a year ago, but now people around me reportedly get whiffs of it for hours so im guessing maceration helped, but it is not a strong or pungent scent by nature so dont expect anhthing crazy, its meant to be modest, classy and alluring in the dry down…this is one of the scents u can never overspray, feel free to go ham and indulge. Also i wore this in the heat and it was amazing? to me its definitely an all year round/signature scent rather than just cold temp

share

Emin1602

My first ever niche fragrance, this just hits different imo. Smells like amaretto disaronno, roasted marshmallows and a subtle sweet vanilla. I have never smelt something more unique and rememberable. It's sweet but also formal, could literally wear this for work as well as going out to the bar or to the club with friends. I would go as far as to say you could wear this during the summer, in the night time (not when it's warm). Loved it so much, I ignored the price and instantly went home and ordered the 125 ml, since the boutique only had the 75ml bottle.

share

Not my jam. Dusty, powdery sharp smell dominates. 50% old woman smell, 50% vanilla and amber. I don't mind other powdery scents but this just smells like a 60 year olds cologne.

This scent is an artifact. Even though I have so many scents in cold weather, my hand involuntarily goes to Pegasus.

4 Season scent, very versatile.
Smells like heaven.

jlz076

overrated asf. almond note smells more metallic and ends up making the vanilla blend just smell off. expected it to be sweeter too but really isn't and there are much better creamy fragrances with way better dry downs than pegasus. It had a good idea with the notes, but just a really poorly blended fragrance imo.

share

calamusdraco4

It’s such a shame because 8 years ago I loved the brand. From what I’m reading about all the scents now they don’t last now and have been reformulated.

share

pashaagirl

I ordered a mini Tester and i am so glad that I did not biy a full bottle. This to me smells exactly like Fiore del Dragone from Tesori. This is like a cheap Hypnotic Poison dupe. There a two perfumes on the market actually which has been made cheap as Bubble Gum by other brands, BACCARAT ROUGE & HYPNOTIC POISON. Basically beautiful fragrances but I cannot smell these anymore due to sooo many cheap dupes.

share

Serpentarius

Got a chance to put my nose to this at Saks today. I can see why this is called Pegasus! It's got this 'uplifting' to it. It's a very light, airy scent but this isn't a comment on performance. I didn't put it on my skin so I can't speak to longevity or anything. However, if it performs like other PdM frags have for me in the past, it likely falls into the 'underwhelming' category. Yes, I am biased...I like-love a lot of PdM scents but feel they are overpriced and underwhelming in terms of performance. However, I do think it would be weird for this scent to be beast mode...it's beauty mode!

I have no idea why so many people rate this 'more male' to 'male' but unisex/femme leaning is my vote. This is comparatively speaking as far as the composition, not commentary on gender or sexuality. I wear what I want...Erba Pura is rated very feminine, and I agree, but still love the stuff. I just think it's worth noting that this isn't blind-buy safe in that regard.

It's a beautiful, addictive, light, clean scent. Creamy almond-vanilla foam + fresh laundry. Like Prince's ruffled shirt grew wings and flew away before d'Hadrien got on it.

Delicious powdered amaretto with a distinct talc feel, opens with a metallic touch that's not too overwhelming.
Perfect for autumn, winter, and spring, a bit too overwhelming in the hot summer months.
Lasts all day with a noticeable projection.

share

Angelsforshare

A really meh fragrance imo, it lasted like 2-3 hours on me and Just the first one was a good projection it went really quickly to a skin scent, it was really disapointing honestly

franbosakfran

It smells like a fancy fabric softener, drydown goes very smooth. This screams cold spring mornings for me

share

Creamy_ambrette

So at first I was really disappointed with my 1 oz travel set.
No almond, no vanilla definitely no jasmine! Just a metallic note and sandalwood.
I put it away and listed it for sale. Every now and then I’d smell it to see if it’s growing on me.
Well today, 10 month later.
I still don’t get almond or vanilla but the amber is coming foward more.
It’s reminded me of something I love- Myrrh Imperiale Armani Prive line which is discontinued.
That one has more spice in the opening but it’s the same sticky amber.
The opening notes of cumin and heliotrope also peek out more which remind me of Gucci Eau de Parfum -which is another discontinued beauty!
Pegasus has a cool almost metallic fougere opening that moves to a very strong and buzzing amber.
Pegasus rewards my patience with an milky almond tinged amber in the deep dry down.
I might keep him after all.
Pegasus does have great projection and longevity! Even after several hand washes, he clings strongly to my hand.

share

ZeaMoore4

Strong, and long lasting. 2 sprays on my neck gives me 10 -12 hours of projecting performance. Clean and sweet with a little bit of freshness.

I have one issue though and that's that on me at least, it smells Very much like a bar of Dove hand soap (European version). That is a fantastic scent, but i don't feel like the scent is something i'd like to smell like. I'm 100% sure this is a scent that the ladies will like, on themselves and on a man. Even a man might like this on a woman. But i don't get a "sexy" vibe from it. More a mix of "blue" fragrance and a little "sping/fall" fragrance.

The scent is of high quality with perfect blending of every note. A technical masterpiece for sure. But too soap like for my taste.

Not blind buy safe in my opinion. Too much money for a fragrance you might not want to wear. If you like Dove hand soap, you'll like the scent. If you want to wear it is up to you.

Great fragrance from Parfums De Marly, my fourth in the collection and man this smells awesome. Opens up pretty floral and clean, then some more of those powdery notes start coming in once it starts to dry down. About a couple hours in I was catching a very decadent and natural smelling vanilla, to die for. Some of the best vanilla I ever smelled, not synthetic smelling at all and extremely smooth. Longevity on my skin is about 8 hours then turns into a skin scent for a few more hours before it’s gone. But it never really leaves, if you smell your skin it will be there, very subtly, for what feels like forever, atleast until you shower. It’s lasted through a night of sleep on my arm. Highly Recommend if you’re looking for something unique and sexy.

It is creamy, powdery, sweet and nutty, a slight metallic edge to it. I love this fragrance. Somehow reminds me of Creed Millésime Impérial due to the metallic profile I can smell.

This fragrance smells amazing, a nice relaxing powdery floral, with some sweetness, but I have received the reformulated batch, it is currently the worst performing fragrance I own by far. My skin chemistry usually loves florals

i really don't understand why would Parfums de Marly butcher their iconic masterpiece by replacing cumin with cypress and upping the alcohol from 80% to 83%...still I'm grateful to have experienced the original 2011 version that Mr. Hamid Merati-Kashani created.

After all Pegasus will remain mythical creature.

Pegasus by Parfums de Marly: A Majestic Olfactory Journey

In the realm of scents, a tale unfolds,
Pegasus by Marly, a fragrance bold.
A symphony of notes, a dance in the air,
A majestic creation beyond compare.

Upon the skin, a journey begins,
Almond whispers and amber spins.
Vanilla dreams in the warm embrace,
A fragrant poetry, an aromatic grace.

Pegasus soars on wings of delight,
A celestial blend, a fragrant flight.
Sandalwood whispers in a woody trance,
A melody of luxury, a fragrant dance.

In the twilight of dreams, it takes its stand,
A stallion of fragrance, a regal brand.
With every spray, a myth reborn,
Pegasus by Marly, a fragrance adorned.

A trail of elegance, a lingering song,
A symphony of notes that linger strong.
Oh, Pegasus, in your olfactory sky,
You paint a fragrant poem, oh so high.

So let it linger, let it play,
Pegasus by Marly, enchanting all day.
In every drop, a story untold,
A masterpiece of scent, a fragrance to behold.

I truly fell in love with this fragrance in my first sniff. My favourite perfume of all time. Few more people pointed out that this is the niche version of Prade L'homme, I have both and I can kinda confirm it but, a big BUT, Pegasus surpasses it in every way. It embodies a lovely blend of softness, a gentle powdery essence, an alluring sensuality, and a comforting warmth with a touch of spiciness. It can turn into anything depends on your mood. Definitely my go to perfume for colder days but can fit to every weather except for hot summer days. It's performance is great, I can easily carry it on me for more than 12 hours and even the people that doesn't interested in fragrances pointed out that I was smelling nice. One of the best things that I've spend my money for.

AMAZING , SEXY , Intriguing ! I love this juice , really nice and well crafted . The opening is a very metallic soapy scent given by the heliotrope but is not invasive or abrasive as a cheap fragrance , this is very well rounded. As the fragrance develops on the mid you can smell slightly the flowers in the background as a vanilla and almond bomb comes forward from the dry down. This is by no means a powdery fragrance nor musky, it is super rounded and smells super luxurious out of the shower fragrance that transforms into a nice and sweet vanilla and almonds fragrance. 10/10 in terms of quality and uniqueness but the performance on my skins sucks really bad. I get at most 5 -6 hours from this , maybe Im kind of nose blind but I really think it is my skin chemistry. It is blind buy worthy if you like almond and vanilla.

Got a tester of this.

Extremely powdery scent, reminds me a little of Prada L'homme with a bit more depth.

If you're a fan of powdery fragrances, then you will love this, but for me, I am not a fan unfortunately!

Edit: after testing again, it's fairly pleasant but not something I would wear myself as a late 20s male.

Fell in love with this at first sniff. The almond and vanilla notes are just so heavenly. I do think this should be unisex though, great for women too.

Longevity not great.Getting very soft whifs from it for few hours,,sits close to skin, even from 6 sprays.Do not over spray, will bite your throat ,is bitter sweet.

Pegasus: this is a marvelous fougere, with a surprising mix of chemical and natural elements; at the first spray it seems entirely synthetic, then the various nuances emerge, Heliotrope first and foremost, whose odor is reminiscent of almonds, invigorated by a pungent accent of cumin. From there, a delicate Bergamot introduces a spectacular and very persistent Lavender, whose sweetness and some acidulous nuances are reminiscent of cherry, the same impression already had in other creations of the house bearing the same note. In the heart of the fragrance, bitter almond also emerges, with strong hints of milky dried fruit, crossed with juicier fruity notes, such as apple and apricot, made light and airy by white flowers, which give the right elevation to the whole. After about a couple of hours here finally come out the base notes, all centered on the protagonist, sandalwood, here represented by a very good quality raw material, the characteristics of which I found dark and decisive, not soft and creamy as one would expect, making me think that for this formula the very fine aged Indian sandalwood oil was used, which has very special characteristics, stronger and opulent. In short, after smelling these Parfums de Marly I think I will have to use them as a yardstick, as far as perfume quality is concerned: they have no edginess, they are blended to perfection, they hold rare and precious olfactory treasures... They all show that they share a definite DNA. I find Pegasus to be a very successful perfume, linear, with an impeccable, almost mathematical profile. I see it as perfect for a professional, suit-and-tie, self-confident and intelligent man who does not like surprises or adventures, who proves his reliability with facts. The best perfume I will never wear.

I do really enjoy this scent, just not on me. I am surprised that it is marketed as a men’s fragrance, although I’m sure some men can pull it off. That being said, I find it to be slightly more feminine leaning side of unisex IMO.
I ended up gifting my decant to a female friend who is in love with it. She smells wonderful when I catch her wearing it. In my experience it has excellent longevity and very good projection as most of the PDM’s I’ve tried.

Despite the fact that this is marketed towards men, I find it perfectly unisex. I am a woman, and recently I've been wearing it every day. I smelled it first at a perfume shop, where the salesman didn't tell me it was a men's scent, and I only found out after by googling it.

This scent is honestly just fantastic. It's an amazing cold vanilla, with a touch of almond and a metallic opening that's a bit sharp and overpowering at first. But the dry down - wow. I can't stop sniffing this when I'm wearing it. That cool vanilla is like no other vanilla I've smelled before - pretty intoxicating. It's oddly cozy too for the fact that it is such a cool smelling scent. I do get some of the "pastries baking" feelings that other people have mentioned as well.

Having said all that, for me this is a mature scent. I wore it to a wedding recently and it was perfectly elegant and fit right in.

My boyfriend loves it on me, I love it on me. Pegasus is a totally unexpected new favourite, I can't say enough about this fragrance.

I feel like the complaint that it smells metallic is just because of the bottle design. But I was told about this apparent metallic scent prior to smelling it, so I was prepared to look for it, and then I can't pick it up at all. Reading the notes I can't even lie to myself that there is anything metallic about this thing except the bottle. It could be that the metal bottle is getting infused with the juice inside, but that is just speculation, and I find it hard to believe since why wouldn't it just be a metallic coating on the outside of the bottle? If this were the case it would be a new low for PDM. But hey, I'm willing to accept all of us get conditioned by bottle designs, like lots of people think Phantom is childish, and I even acknowledge the bottles effect in my controversial Althair review. But this time it had no effect.

Now, less yapping and to the actual scent. Heavy almond and cardamom, with a vanilla base. But I feel the floral notes blend in with the vanilla a lot. It smells like someone's grandma baking pastries, and I like that. The bitterness of it isn't anything notable to me, but for some people who really care about smelling like a man and not a weak woman or little sissy boy the bitterness is what sells it. For me it's unisex, especially grandma like, but that is good. It's mature and pleasant.
And while it does last very long, 8 hours or so, later it just turns into pure vanilla on my skin. On someone else it still had the almond after a long time, and I would be really disappointed if the bottle belonged to me.
And don't let the low summer votes fool you, these sheep just see vanilla and think NOPE! Not summer! But almonds and vanilla definitely work in more northern summer.

So in the end it may be simple and safe, but it's welcoming and mature. It smells like pastries, everyone likes that.

A blend of almond, lavender, bergamot, and a subtle presence of sandalwood that leans towards a sweet, yet undeniably manly fragrance. It's tailored for someone with a gentle demeanor, friendly without an air of arrogance—optimistic without being overbearing. The type of scent that evokes thoughts of an attractive stranger whose memory lingers months later, wishing them well.

The dry down of Pegasus is truly HEAVENLY. It retains its sweetness and approachability, potentially leaning towards a unisex appeal as both men and women could comfortably wear it. It's undeniably gorgeous, yet not overtly masculine, offering a delicate balance that's versatile and alluring.

I was intrigue to know PDM house and wanted to try out all their popular line up so i get Pegasus as my first PDM.
This is the type of perfume u wear for Summer and hot weather. You can smell the sweet almond powdery vanilla with an Amber sandalwood drydown which i like.

Performance wise I'm not sure why but im just getting 4-5hours max on skin and cloth.

If anyone wants a cheaper version or dupe, go for Lelas Black, but with strong amber and sandalwood jasmine.
I wouldn't suggest a blind buy because it's not that wow or that unique unless you're getting a Decant than yes.

I had a prereform bottle of this...don't know if the few % of perfume mattered, but this literally lasted all day. It was such a nice scent when it wasn't over sprayed that I would have loved it. It opened a little strong with the bitter almond, but slowly the almond took a back seat to the vanilla and it became such a creamy wonder. But I sold it and someone else will enjoy it. I'll be purchasing Armaf Craze to see if its close enough, I wouldn't mind using a clone like that as a room scent.

Got the PDM masculine set to try a few that I haven't yet. Reading all the notes of the various PDMs included I thought this one would be my favorite. Was very wrong, glad I didn't blind purchase this one!

The initial scent after applying can only be described as strange. Almost reminded me of Dutch licorice drops... Was dreading living with this all day on my car ride into work. But, at the time of writing this, 4-5 hours after application, I am happier with the current scent than that first hour or so. I think it was the bitter almond that was the offender at first and why people say it smells metallic. At this point it's dried down into a very slight and sweet, close in, skin scent. A little LESS BITTER almond, vanilla, sandalwood, slight tinge of floral lavender but I think most wouldn't pick up on that one. Almost verging on having a soapy undertone at this point.

Definitely better PDM scents in my opinion... but this would be good for anyone who likes a mild sweet scent that isn't totally gourmand. My two cents, Layton, Herod, Carlisle, Oajan, Althiar(?), are the best horses in the PDM stable.

This fragrance is the younger sibling of Reflection man by Amouage. The similarities are so obvious and numerous. Even though they only share two notes in common (Jasmine and Sandalwood), Pegasus feels like a carbon copy of Reflection, with a touch more freshness (most likely the Bergamot). That isn't to say that Pegasus isn't a great fragrance, it's just clear that Reflection was clearly the inspiration behind this one. I could definitely see this appealing to a younger demographic; it lacks a certain sophistication that Reflection has. I would say to those who want the scent of Reflection but don't want to pay the almost $500 price tag, go for this instead.

Smells like vanilla almond milk in a steel bowl. I just didn't like this smell, and have no idea where to wear this. The stainless steel smell doesn't complement the sweetness/nuttiness of the almond milk, just makes it smell weird and chemical. Had big expectations having loved Layton, this one is NOT IT.

I can't get on with this at all. From opening to dry down, all I'm reminded of is Germolene, that pink ointment grandma's always had in a first aid box, it makes me feel like I've got a bandage on somewhere and I'm getting whiffs of the ointment.

This also smells like root beer tastes, and I don't like that either. I've got a decent of the Exclusif version on the way, I really hope that's better than this.

Pegasus is the one that got me into fragrances, let alone niche perfumery. As soon as I saw the sleek, chrome bottle, I just knew I had to get it regardless of what the scent was. This is one of the first few fragrances I got starting off my collection that I still decided to keep around, for a good reason too. The Almond, lavender, and vanilla combo is one that creates such a unique scent profile that is incredibly addicting. It seems like the metallic note is pretty divisive. In my opinion, the metallic scent is what turns this fragrance from a "good" one to a GREAT one. Without the metallic note, Pegasus would just be another run of the mill sweet gourmand fragrance. But that, in combination with the jasmine keeps me coming back wanting more. Even though Dior Fahrenheit has claimed the throne for the #1 spot for me, Pegasus was my first love and I will always keep a bottle of it around for as long as possible.

Performance wise, I have a pre-reformulation 78% bottle from 2020, and it is very good. Above average longevity and above average projection.

I’ve had this for about 2 years and and though I don’t wear it a lot it’s not because it’s not wearable it’s because I don’t waste things this good on my daily wears to work. This is almonds done right. This is like a fresh bright airy vanilla milky almond scent. Very classy and yet can be dressed down but not too casual. I wore this to my cousins wedding and went pretty heavy on the sprays. This one is a sillage beast on me. I get about 10hrs longevity and nice projection the frost 2 or so hrs. It’s a 2019 or 2020 batch I forget incase it’s important to you. All in this is one I plan on wearing more this fall and winter. Nothing but compliments with this one.

Pegasus by Parfums de Marly is a great woody Oriental scent with dynamic and lasting notes of orange blossom, saffron, cedar, and sandalwood. It is definitely a favorite among fragrance lovers who appreciate a bold and masculine feel. However, when it comes to longevity, Craze by Armaf takes the crown as a superior scent that lasts for a longer period of time. Craze is described as spicy, vibrant, and unique with its blend of cistus, Chinese ginger, and agarwood.

So, if you’re looking for a bold, spicy, and masculine scent that will last throughout the day, then Craze is the winner for you. Although Pegasus has its own unique appeal and is very popular among fragrance lovers, it's surpassed by Craze in terms of longevity.

Maybe this one is an acquired taste, but Pegasus was not an instant love like Layton, Sedley and Greenley were for me. This struck me as a sweet floral and somewhat metallic unisex fragrance that leans ever so slightly feminine. It smells more like a fancy suntan lotion than vanilla flavored almonds. It’s a soft scent, projection is fairly light but it does waft around pretty well. The bottle’s platinum finish matches the scent for sure. I may try this again and see if it grows on me but it just didn’t have that “wow” factor, but everybody’s tastes are different, and I could see it possibly growing after another round of test sprays. In my opinion definitely not blind buy safe, so try before you buy!

This is a very well executed amber-vanilla scent for men, although it definitely does not smell like a classic amber-vanilla scent. The bitter almond and floral combo makes this a very addicting, metallic scent. It does smell synthetic, not in a disturbing way, but in a way that indicates a very unique, crafted scent. The projection and longevity is great on my skin. As a guy who likes vanilla and floral notes, this is definitely an unconventional combination, but I love it. I would definitely not blind buy this is you don't like bitter almond, it definitely not one of those sweet vanilla-amber scents.

Bitter Almond and Heliotrope. Both are my favorite ingredients. Pegasus cools and warms at the same time. I can also smell a very slight urine note. Sexy and not uncomfortable. Metallic? Yes a little. But not uncomfortable. On the contrary: The vanilla keeps the balance.

I only have a sample but i think i might have to pull the trigger on a full bottle once the weather cools off. Very cozy/gentle clean almond scent. could be casual or formal but i don't think i could do it in the summer. It doesn't seem like the projection is crazy (which i like) but i think that might just be because it is a calmer sort of fragrance since others say it projects well

Not for everyone and definitely not a blind buy, even if you usually like vanilla fragnances.

I've worn this a lot over the last month or so, both in colder and hotter weather, to the office and going out, and I must say that it's a lot more versatile to my nose, than many here describe. It's very inoffensive while still having a unique identity from the thousands of vanilla options out there.

The almond is very strong and prolific in the opening, but the dry-down is what makes me put this on so often. The blend between the almond and vanilla is amazing, creating a much more balanced vanilla note than with many other vanilla perfumes.

The vanilla is distinctive, but is balanced by the jasmine and almond so well and some subtle woody notes, which are quite prolific in the later part of the dry-down.

Overall the unique almond identity makes this a lot more attractive to me than the more generic and classic vanilla fragnances out there.

Pegasus smells like a puff pastry, almost like the inside of a bakery. But it's more refined and a little metallic. It's definitely a very sweet fragrance so it can be worn unisex. The almond pairs so well with the vanilla! Can be used for all seasons except for summer although I think fall works best. Now, the problem is I don't see myself buying this because it's very costly, and I doubt I'd wear this regularly. But I really admire this unique and beautiful scent by PDM.

After testing it in a shop and really loved it, I thought I would buy Armaf Craze to save some $ as everyone is saying they smell the same - well kind of but not really. Armaf Craze has very similar smell on the surface (i.e. the sweat vanilla note), however the way it develops is totally different and for me it is extremely harsh on my nose - it almost feels like it triggers some sort of allergy (which I have noticed is the case for most dupes I have tried for whatever reason). Armaf Craze is the type of perfume that can get the people around you sick by its smell as it is really in your face and not in a good way.

Pegasus on the other hand is still long lasting without this cheap vibe harshness of Armaf. The smell is more "creamy" and almost like ice-cream + some subtle freshness. It smells expensive (as it is).

On the price...Not sure if it is worth it, but it is really great scent and if you can afford it, I would say there aren't many alternative and it is certainly unique scent. Overall, I love it, though the price is too high.

I got this for an absolute steal ($147 for 4.2oz sealed in box from highly reputable seller). Late 2022 batch. For the discounters’ price, this is an absolute banger. It smells very smooth, but not at the expense of being weak. Great performance on my skin, and I could see myself wearing this one year-round, although warmer weather is the best time.
I compared to the Exclusif version in a store once, and while I can’t remember much, I remember them being similar-ish, but normal Pegasus being more of a crowd pleaser and versatile.
I’m definitely becoming a PDM fan, but there’s no scent from them out now worth its retail price tag.
Highly recommend this one if you find a good deal!

Luca Lucarelii

A nice unisex fragrance, but it won't appeal to everyone. It is in my TOP 5 Parfums de Marly! Lasts about 7 hours with moderate projection. Pegasus Exclusif has twice the performance, but is less wearable. Not for temperatures higher than 15 degrees Celsius. Justifies its price. A cheap variant of Armaf Craze.

When I sampled this years ago, I didn't like the metallic almondy + floral (jasmine?) smell at all.
I recently re-tried the sample and started to appreciate it more.
Now I am very intrigued by this scent DNA, not yet a love but likable.
And once I heard the company got sold, I had to buy a pre-reformulated bottle along with some of the other PDM bottles.
Pegasus Exclusif is more enjoyable still but this OG has the uniqueness which I'd like to experience more for years to come.
If you can, try to get some pre-reformulated PDM bottles, the obvious ones at least.

This is a masterful and entrancing scent. The opening is bright and sweet. A creamy vanilla texture blended beautifully with the intriguing bitterness of the almond. The florals really brighten this scent up and push it closer to Unisex as opposed to fully masculine. Upon dry-down, Pegasus becomes quite a bit powdery and maintains that creamy sweetness. I seriously can't stop spraying this stuff (discounter prices help keep my mind at ease). My girlfriend got herself a bottle of Hypnotic Poison and our combined scent cloud is incredible - the two are similar but Pegasus is definitely more masculine leaning. Sexy pampered prince vibes. I don’t quite know what to describe Pegasus as. It doesn’t smell quite like anything else I’ve ever tried. It’s a beautiful scent, and one that lasts me a full day, but it’s not one I reach for because I tend to gravitate towards more “traditional” deep, dark, woodsy men’s fragrances. A pleasant unique scent. Bitter almonds is the dominant note to my nose and stays throughout the lifetime of this fragrance which lasts a whole day on my skin. The vanilla and amber notes help to balance this out into a fragrance that turns powdery and not overly sweet. The overall smell reminds me of clean wet clay that is drying out or freshly laid porcelain tiles that have been cleaned. I know that sounds odd, but it does works well on my skin. I rarely smell this scent when I’m out and about, and it will make you stand out in a positive way. In warm weather, I think this scent would become very sticky on the skin.

The only issue for me is the expensive price point. I wouldn’t buy this again for such a high price, as other reviews seem to indicate cheaper fragrances offer a similar scent experience. Definitely test it before laying down the money for a full bottle. I tested a 5ml sample first and did like it enough to purchase a 75ml bottle. That will last me quite a while, as this is a fragrance I don’t wear often. For me it’s perfect for cool sunny days, and when on lunch dates and meeting friends. It has some versatility in that I think a wide range of age groups could wear this, and to me this is masculine leaning towards unisex.

I just want to add, I enjoyed reading the reviews on this, both the positive and negative ones. Smell is so subjective, and I found it fascinating to read the opinions and thoughts of others about this fragrance.

Decent scent. It can be unisex because of how powdery it is also the vanilla is dominant, pretty similar to dior hypnotic poison but the almond neutralize the sweetness and femininity of the fragrance with a bit of a metallic accord making it unisex leaning masculine. It is unique and lovely maybe not my favorite of PDM but i like it.

I just got a sample of this from a purchase I made from fragbuy and it’s very good unisex scent profile. But shortly after I grabbed a bottle of Armaf Craze and it’s sooo dang close.. Close enough that I won’t be buying the pdm. And crave lasted on skin all day. I received compliments many hours after spraying it and I work in a stinky machine shop making race engines.. i don’t want this to turn into a craze review but I truly don’t think the pdm is worth the extra money. Unless you’re really into collecting all the pdm bottles for your collection or something. That’s understandable. I do detect higher quality oils in pdm. Longevity and projection about same as craze after maceration period. If you really got that extra money obviously go with the pdm. Everybody else Armaf is awaiting your purchase.

This is a divine scent, very addicting to smell up close and in the air. Smells like a creamy vanilla cream on top of an almond cake served on fancy china dishes with a freshly washed sterling silver fork right next to the plate.
10/10 scent once it dries down for 15 minutes

Most beautiful when sprayed on clothes instead of skin. It's warm with a cocoon vibe. It's powdery due to the heliotrope but it's blended in an elegant way. The almond brings that warmth and sweetness and the cumin brings just a smidge of spice and grounded(ness)
It's blended masterfully of course.

I tried it today and I really don't like it. It project quite a lot but the smell become annoying after some time. Maybe it would be a little bit better if I would try it at the winter. Here in my town it is spring today and it was 23 degrees celsious.

Not a fan of this one. Just smells like almond baby powder. If you want a better and cheaper version of this, I highly suggest Prada Luna Rosa Black. On my skin they smell the same, but Prada is a bit sweeter and lasts longer. Women seem to prefer the Prada as well.

This is a sweet almond cologne from start to finish. Not a Xerjoff-level sickeningly sweet amber. There are a few other PDM frags with an almond note but this one is definitely the strongest. The lavender and Jasmine add a little “fluffiness”. Essentially, I gravitate towards all the notes in Pegasus so my love for it is unsurprising.

This is very much a masculine version of Dior Hypnotic Poison… and that is a good thing. I love both.

This was my first fragrance from De Marly. One
Interesting creation of the in-house perfumer. It really has sexy appeal and makes me picture intimate, erotic situation. Drydown is sandalwood -vanillic bliss. It has been composed initially as a women's perfume and then was recreated to a unisex fragrance so it can be worn by men as well.
100% unisex. Longevity and performance is fine in general. It' s not suitable for high summer temperatures, however.

This is a really comforting scent. Very rich and creamy with a hint of spice and not overbearingly sweet like some other gourmands.

A beautiful almond fragrance through and through. It features a sweet-spicy, powerful opening with hints of almond coming through already, and contrary to popular belief, I personally find this opening to be on the mature side. Not to say I don't like it, because I really do, but it gives off the same vibes that some vintage scents have. There's a portion in the heart which vaguely reminds me of an almond shampoo I used to use long ago, which I mean in a good way, as it feels the almond note has taken a somewhat soapy and powdery direction. The drydown is where Pegasus has me in a chokehold, though, with its woody, creamy vanilla-almond accord that smells essentially like Boss Bottled on steroids on my skin. Like, imagine the scent profile of Boss Bottled, modernize it, then amp up the sex appeal by 1,000, and you get the drydown on Pegasus. This drydown is what sold me on the fragrance.

Performance-wise, you're looking at around the same level as any other Parfums de Marly fragrance, with 7-8 hours longevity and decent projection. It's not beastly, perhaps, but still pretty damn great.

In terms of application, I think nicer occasions in colder months suit Pegasus perfectly. I'd personally wear this to a nice first date or a fancy dinner, something of the sort. And no, I don't think this is exclusively masculine or feminine. This is perfectly unisex from beginning to end.

(Side note, I think the metallic silver flacon suits the scent profile perfectly.)

Ultimately, I think this is one of the better offerings of Parfums de Marly. Of course, this is a personal opinion, and I recognize there are some notes which could potentially be quite polarizing depending on a person's tastes. However, I find Pegasus to suit mine, and as such, I can say with confidence that it was a worthy purchase for me.

I "borrowed" Pegasus from a PDM sample set on my husband's fragrance shelf. It immediately reminded me of Jean Paul Gaultier, which was my signature scent in 1999. As a woman, I think this smells incredible and feel Pegasus is definitely Unisex. Gonna give it a proper test on my skin next to see how this beauty holds up.

A beautiful and refined gourmand fragrance. It feels more youthful than some others from the line, perhaps more youthful than Layton, but not far behind.

I understand what everyone says about the metallic note, but to me, it fades within about 30-60 minutes. It isn't off-putting to my nose at all. In fact, I find that it fits quite well with the vanilla and almond, and it's actually very intriguing. I thoroughly enjoy it. I felt that as the metallic note was fading it was either becoming or making way for the lavender. It could have been my mind playing tricks on me, but I almost mistook the metallic note for a very, very strong lavender.

As the lavender pushes through and the metallic note fades I have a beautiful vanilla almond with a balanced/smooth lavender and slight touches of amber and wood. The almond and vanilla are present throughout the entire ride, and never leave, they only blend with the different notes throughout the day.

As the day progresses Pegasus can start to border on the fresher side of things, but still with the gourmand mixed in, and not at all times. I believe the freshness pushes through depending on the reaction to your skin chemistry and with body temperature changes. It is probably the bergamont popping up as your body temperature rises, but I do not personally smell the bergamont at any time while wearing.

So far I know the sillage is about arms length up until at least 5 hours in, as I have been getting some attention from the fragrance. I was smelling this throughout the day on my skin for 8+ hours. Performance is definitely there.

I rate this a solid 9/10 as I personally would not wear this daily, but you can dress this up or down with ease, so it wouldn't be out of place for many occasions. I feel it leans slightly more to being dressed up. It is quite versatile in cooler weather. I feel like the vibe of Pegasus is suited best for the fall than any other time, although it's also fantastic for the winter. I don't completely see this as a spring fragrance, but you could pull it off.

Odd side note: Someone asked me if I was wearing Gio. I was a little bit taken aback and they clarified with Acqua di Gio. They are obviously not a fragrance connoisseur, and looked puzzled when I said it was Pegasus (what the hell is that?), but if that's what an average person thought, who's to argue? After all, if we aren't wearing them for ourselves, we are generally wearing them to smell good to the general public. In a way I think this goes to support the fact that you will get some very fresh notes at times. Don't worry, I'm not going to vote any of the ADG line into the "This perfume reminds me of" category. 😂

Once upon a time, a bunch of executives sat in a conference room and had a call to action. Together they thought outside the box, and they shifted paradigms. They used all sorts of graphs and charts, they did a deep dive into their collaboration, they really created synergy! Ultimately they decided they didn’t need to re-invent the wheel, they just needed to give 110%, and take it to the next level, so they contacted Firmenich with a brief, and with that they put boots on the ground, and started marketing Hypnotic Poison to men. Pure. Corporate. Genius. Bravo PdM execs! Great success, huge return on investment, everyone involved with Pegasus deserved a huge bonus!

This is a very fresh and smooth scent. Its powdery fresh without being bathroomy or overkilled. It settles in to a smooth blend where no scent overpowers the other. I can still smell the citrus - I still get the almond and the wood. A different vibe that strikes the balance between fresh without smelling like a shower.

This is a gorgeously clean and sweet scent. If I had to describe it in a hurry, it's like a tres leches cake with lavender and musk. I know musk isn't listed as a note, but perhaps it's the amber and sandalwood that makes it smell similar.

I do get what others describe as a metallic scent, but it's more of cold stainless steel smell. It smells "cold," kind of like how Terre d'Hermes Eau Givree gives a cold or frosty smell. However, this smells like you're pulling out a tres leches cake out of the fridge, but with a metallic hue. It's not just a sweet scent, though; it smells clean with the lavender. Parfums de Marly really knows how to execute lavender.

I absolutely adore this scent.

Performance is fantastic, from projection to longevity. I sprayed a shirt to test it, and it smells just as strong 24 hours later. I can definitely see myself wearing this in every condition except extreme heat during the day. Otherwise, this works in everything from winter to summer nights.

I'm smitten with this fragrance. It's perfect.

I smelt this on my friend at the club and it smelt nice and sweet from the vanilla. However, once I tried this on myself it was way too metallically and smelt like metal shavings. I also tried Peguas Exclusif and it was so much better on my skin, with now being on my "Want" list. Give Exclusif a try if you don't like the original DNA.

Opens straightaway with sweet almond and warm vanilla, complimented beautifully by the heliotrope. Settles down into a soft and creamy sandalwood base.
It’s comforting yet elegant and luxurious, a very smooth ride.
It’s a bit gourmand, I don’t normally like gourmands but here it is handled with poise and restraint.
It’s very adaptable, wearable for all occasions and all seasons but maybe best in cooler weather.
Obviously unisex but I have a hunch women would like to smell it on a man, it has that gently soft and seductive vibe, reminiscent of the sexy vibe evoked by Tom Ford Noir Extreme.
Performance is a bit lacking, after an hour it’s quite an intimate scent.
It’s not my favourite PDM but it’s a masterful creation.

Original First Impression on February 15, 2023

I don't know how to feel about PDM Pegasus.

Let's say, this is Almond Cologne, stronger than Galloway - In line with Kalan.
Mostly, the strongest scent of this parfume is Almond with white Musky wood underneath.
Linear, unlike Layton. The perfumer make other note be supporter for Almond.

My question is regards Versatility, I don't know where I wouldn't like to smell this Almondy - clean.
Unlike, Pegasus Exclusif. I could reach for evening event, feeling very formal.

It's clean, it's tasty, It's sophisticated.
but I think it a bit too classy for everyday wear while it's not special enough for special occasion.
I feel like this is what "Christian Thompson" from the devil wears prada would wear daily.
I think it fit well with people from Fashion / Designer industry as everyday cologne.

But I'm working in law enforcement based gov project.
I feel this a bit out-of-reach for me.

Strong and high in longevity.

Edit 2 : December 5, 2023

I revisit Pegasus, after a few impression that this is slight too metallic for my test.
I picked up this blind along with Pegasus Exclusif which I allegedly decided to keep
with out proper test, I pass this to declutter bin a few month but I haven't sell it yet.
Not really sure about the reason.

After I pick up Jasmine Marzipan by Maison Lancome on November 13, 2023
and do 2 full wear test. It kinda softly reminds me of Pegaus, not strongly in the first place but on 2nd wear, I start to recall this. So I bring this back for 2nd wear.

This time, when I reware. I feel it less metallic than before maybe I use way many
Saffron fragrance that I use to this note already.

Pegasus is very beautiful Ambery-Fougere that make you feel clean, powdery & musky.
The scent is fairy linear as it open it Sweet almondy then transit to musk side of thing over time, the support nuance of Jasmine floral and Lavender do add complexity to the scent.

The key point that I now appreciate is how authentic almond note they are.
In both Pegaus/Pegasus Exclusif. The way heliotrope came across in this.
Are truly make Almond photo realistic, normally Heliotrope can be easily, dense and powdery. I still think this is a perfect example for Heliotrope in Almond fragrance done right.

I was underrate this before but actually I think this is most unique fragrance from the house without any referable identity (you know Layton to Hugo Boss, Kalan to BR540).
I already declutter Layton, Kalan and Galloway as I quite sure that are not really my taste
at this point but I was not quite sure about Pegasus as I love nutty/almond note.

But I know now.
This is a keeper.
It calls Pegasus for a reason.

Score 9/10
Longevity : 7-8 hours
Projection : Moderate / Moderate-Soft
Classification : Unisex
Summary : Christian Thompson's fragrance

Additional note:
I do not find this redundant to own both Pegaus and Pegasus Exclusif.
One is more Woody-Spicy / One is more Fougere-Musky.

Also, I suggest for people who kinda like Chanel Jersey, Gentle Fulidty Gold to try this one. Vanilla and Almond in this are beauitful.

Edit 3, May 5, 2024…

Take more than 1 year to realize that Pegasus is very unique take on Vanilla and true Iconic of the house.

Being contains strong element of Fouguere. Smooth powdery note. Ambery, Lavender and spicy note.

Enjoyable.

One of the best of Parfums de Marly. I love the metallic note in it. That gives it a niche edge. This is one of the most versatile of the line. You can wear it to work, clubbing, dinner or a date. On my skin it lasts long and projects aswell. If you don't like it at first, come back 6 months later, try it and you will probably understand why this was the first perfume Parfums de Marly created.

Beautiful clean scent that has a touch of elegance to it in my opinion. It’s a wonderful blend of aromatics with an almond accord, a bit powdery and metallic with some vanilla in the base to keep it from being too sterile.

It’s inoffensive, smells clean and professional with the versatility to be used in almost all seasons and situations, day and night. Signature scent worthy. Pegasus has given me quite a lot of compliments at the office.

Pegasus by Parfums de Marly is a fragrance that I have had in my collection for a couple of years now, and I must say, it is truly remarkable. The performance of the fragrance is fantastic and the unique blend of almond and vanilla notes makes it the perfect gourmand winter scent.

The longevity of Pegasus is impressive, as it lasts for several hours on my skin and leaves a noticeable scent trail. The sillage, or the trail left by the fragrance, is moderate, making it perfect for both casual and formal settings.

The almond and vanilla notes in Pegasus are the real stars of the show. The almond adds a nutty and warm feel, while the vanilla provides a sweet and comforting touch. These notes work together in perfect harmony to create a truly unique and captivating scent.

I would highly recommend Pegasus to anyone looking for a warm and delicious winter fragrance. It's the perfect choice for chilly days and nights and works well for both casual and formal occasions. Whether you're cozying up by the fireplace or heading out for a night on the town, Pegasus is sure to make a statement.

Overall, Pegasus by Parfums de Marly is an exceptional fragrance that I am proud to have in my collection. The unique combination of almond and vanilla notes, along with its fantastic performance, makes it a must-have for any fragrance enthusiast. If you're looking for a warm and comforting winter scent, Pegasus is the perfect choice.

Hmmm…after recently trying this again I’ve grown to really like it. The opening is a bit harsh. It smells very metallic, and dusty. But, it quickly settles down, and you get that creamy almond/vanilla scent. IMO this would be really nice to wear in the spring.
It’s really not that sweet like some reviews make it out to be.

Very pleasant fragrance. To me, the first few minutes of the opening is a bit harsh but after that is where this shines. Longevity is way up. Can be worn in 3 seasons easily. It’s unisex…some days, to me, it leans more feminine and some days more masculine. The scent also transforms a bit throughout the day. All said, I like it and people around me seem to like it as well.

Tried this fragrance at PDM in NYC, and fell in love with it. It is by far my most commonly worn scent, and it is a absolute crowd-pleaser. I've received so many compliments with it, and it is a beautiful smell to catch whiffs of all day. I 100% would never change my decision on it, and will be buying another bottle in the near future. For those looking for a cheaper alternative, Craze by Armaf is a great scent, and has a ton of similarities.

Almost blind-bought this online because I found it on sale. I thought "everybody talks about PDM, it's got to be good!" Well, Im glad i didn't. I got a small dabber vial from microperfumes, and have tested it on my wrist a couple of times. This definitely does not smell masculine on me, and the first thought that comes to mind is "feminine hygiene products" 😵💫 i don't know why. It just doesn't do it for me. I think it might be the bitter almond and jasmine combination. Also, i go noseblind to this pretty quickly, as i can hardly smell it after a few sniffs. In summation, this is nothing special.

UPDATE: OK, so I'm an idiot. This IS something special! I transfered my sample to a small sprayer, and after a few more wears I'm REALLY starting to like it. That "feminine hygiene product" smell I was picking up is the bitter Almond, and I think one of my female friends used a bathroom spray that had that note in it. Anyway, this fragrance is top-notch, and even my wife said she really likes it. Unfortunate that it only lasts about 4 or 5 hours before losing its strength.
I'm still adding it to my wanted list

The first time I ever smelled Pegasus, I imagined that this is how the angels must smell.
I got a discovery set from PdM because of all the hype that the house has gotten on Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, and the internet in general. I was definitely the most excited to smell Layton, but upon testing the different fragrances, Pegasus for me was by FAR the best of the set.
It's sweet, calm, and the almond in it sets it apart from other powdery fragrances that I have tried.
Pegasus is by far the loveliest fragrance I have ever smelled in my relatively short existence on planet earth.
I doubt many people will fall in as deep of a love as I have with this fragrance just because I feel as though it will get overlooked being in a house with hyped fragrances such as Layton and Herod, but that's okay with me! I'll keep this one for myself :)

Pegasus.

I loved this fragrance so much when I sampled it. Wore it like a signature for several days, until one day, I smelt my newly acquired “full-bottle” and felt mildly grossed out. Something didn’t connect with me like before. I then applied it for the day (this is a very casual scent) and found that I began to feel even more grossed out because this fragrance is a BEAST. You get whiffs of it all day, for hours upon hours. It definitely has an almond note but in my opinion, it pushes towards a soapy/shampoo scent.

Nonetheless, this scent is still very good, and I find myself digging it a bit more than my strange stretch of time where I didn’t like it so much.

You can wear this fragrance anywhere you would like, it’s not one that you have to save for special occasions. I have worn it in the snowy blizzards of the Appalachias, and the warm humidity of New Orleans. Overall, not my favorite PDM, or even top 3, and would maybe even direct you to the Exclusif version. But either way, this is a solid pickup for the right price.

Bought it today and here’s my take on it, clear and simple: If you’re like me, love to have that fresh, clean, powdery semi-sweet scent on yourself - try Pegasus. To me, the hype train missed the Pegasus exit and took Layton’s instead.

Pegasus is amazing.

share

Apollo27

@Midget11, I would say that Pegasus doesn’t lean too masculine. It lacks a sweetness that is characteristic of most feminine marketed fragrances but it is very smooth. Tobacco Vanille by TF is definitely sweeter and denser, however the airiness of Pegasus doesn’t mean that it’s weak. I would say that the fragrance floats around you like BR540, but the two are not similar in notes. The vanilla is more light and airy like with Eau Duelle by Diptyque. The fragrance is floral, musky, powdery, and a bit salty in my opinion. Salty as in the feel you get when you smell it. It’s addictive like something salty, sweet, and smooth but light. There’s a hint of lavender but it isn’t sharp. The almond is present but it isn’t nutty. Pegasus is really hard to describe but I will say that it is addictive and I’d love to smell it on a woman. I am wearing it currently and I can’t stop smelling my skin.

I am not familiar with Poison but for a point of reference, some of the unisex fragrances that I enjoy are Another 13 by Le Labo, Eau Duelle by Diptyque, Santal Austral by Matiere Premiere, Molecule 02 by Eccentric Molecules, TF Soleil Blanc, MFK BR540, Angelique Noir by Guerlain, and Amber oil by Nemat. Though Pegasus doesn’t smell like any of these, the fragrance and feel of it exist in the same scent universe. If you enjoy any of these fragrances then you’ll probably enjoy Pegasus too.

Ambery, milky/creamy vanilla and metallic almond smell. The metallic note gives it this kinda cooling effect. Smells so good and different than other fragrances out there, and also is a crowd pleaser.

Extremely long lasting (15+ hours on my skin) and projecting, a little bit dense but still airy, lingers in the air and fills a room. Could be used as a signature frag by any age group. Maybe not in the hottest summer day but a solid 3/4 season frag for sure. Could be worn up or down. More of a daytime frag but works ok in the evening too. For evening I would switch/use Pegasus Exclusif because of the added depthness.
A 10/10 masterpiece if you respect semi sweet creamy scent with a unique twist.
Unisex for sure, but some people say its leaning more towards feminine because it's so sweet, but I find it bit more masculine than feminine.
I would not recommend this as a blind buy even though it's very likeable scent. Might be too sweet or feminine to some men at least.

I found a 75ml bottle for 119€ so I had to get one as I've only read and heard good things about this one.

It's a great smell no question about it, but for me personally it didn't have that "it factor" that everyone made it to be.

Really loving the vanilla/powdery vibe to it, but it's accompanied by an odd synthetic odor that my nose is not a fan of. Definitely better when you let it sit on the skin or clothes for a while. I wouldn't mind the longevity to be a bit better too, I get like 4-6 hours with this on my skin before it disappears almost completely. Zero compliments so far, then again I'm not the biggest social butterfly who meets females all the time. I still like the scent and would give it a solid 8/10. I love vanilla and this is definitely one of my high-end/more expensive scents, so will use it accordingly (especially during cold weather). The bottle is really well made with a solid heavy cap - you can feel the quality in this one, though it is a fingerprint magnet with it's chrome surface.

I enjoy this fragrance a lot. It's unique and I like how the almond note is more masculine. In another fragrance Carte Blanche, the almond note came across much more feminine. This one makes it edgier and Pegasus Exclusif takes it even further. I don't love this, but this is a really really good fragrance. I would not advise blind buying, but you definitely should give this a smell. This fragrance lasts all day on skin and it projects for 3-4 hours. I would put this as my third favorite PDM fragrance behind Herod, and then Layton. This can work for most seasons and this is the one fragrance to this day that brought me an unwarranted compliment from a stranger (from almost a year of exploring the world of fragrance).

In the opening it's a rich, beautiful and creamy almond, spiced with lavender, nutmeg and citrus. It then settles to a very pure almond scent with hints of lavender and spices, and dies down to a sweet sweet vanilla base. The projection is awesome, 2 feet for the first few hours, and then projects about a foot after that, and projects for at least 12 hours. If you spray this on your clothes, you will smell it for several days. I would therefore go easy, I usually spray three times on my chest with great results. Any more than that and it could come off as potentially cloying.

Would not recommend in the hotter seasons, but for the winter and fall it's an amazing potential signature. The scent is incredibly unique, and at first I was unsure if I liked it or not. But after trying it again over the months it's quickly become one of my go to's for colder days, where I want to stay indoors with people I love. Definitely give it a sample or two though before splurging on a full bottle.

A scent that shows great potential in the top but unfortunately turns somewhat acrid on my skin as it dries down. The jasmine almost certainly being the reason as the same happens with Craze wears, which Pegasus is often compared to and which also has the same floral aspects. Craze does have its similarities but is noticeably more floral and less nutty - far enough away from Pegasus that I wouldn’t consider it a dupe, only a scent that has similarities. The deep dry down of Pegasus does have an amazing nuttiness I do enjoy once the more acrid aspects pass, but its too long to wait for and consequently renders the scent overall unwearable sadly.

I have a batch of 2013 PDM Pegasus, this one is the real Beast full of almonds! nothing to do with the current version!!!!
The new Batches are very diluted and weak!!! 2013 lasted on my skin for 13 hours at least and on clothes forever!! 2 to 3 weeks !! Projection BEAST !!! is a shame nowadays all companies cut corners!!! for money! If you ever smell the 2013 Version I have, you wouldn't buy it again the New one!! that is a shame as it is an amazing Perfume!!!!!

I didn’t get a lot of almond, but it’s a sweetness beast. Loads of vanilla and icing sugar. Leans more gourmand.
