Great perfume for it's price, I get decent performance with this one and smells very tropical. I recommend it in case you want to buy a good summer perfume that doesn't cost too much. Gem.
Cloying disgusting horrid flanker of the original, I expected something really nice coconuty and fresh for summer on a budget and it's so synthetic and it's just horrible
the coconut is not tropical and just in the background wasnt what i expected as a blind buy but great amber fragrance
Don’t expect a super loud tropical coconut that is just the main thing you smell, it’s a very very soapy warm sweet fragrance, it’s synthetic smelling and the coconut is detectable if you think about it and try to smell it. Lasts 5 hours and does radiate several feet for most of that time. A fresh green sweet fragrance. —Edit. Left with cap off after 2 days, no clue how this happens but the soapy smell is minimized if not gone, the coconut note in the biggest note now, it’s a not a coconut flake smell though, it’s a warm creamy smooth one, like warm coconut milk, the orange is also ontop of that as a citrus accord to make it fresh and airy, the amber is just a warm sweet under tone . From a 5/10 to a 8/10.
When i first got it and firar time i smelled it i thought it was very basic and smells like every mans cologne ever but after a time i grew more into it and actually started to like it. It is very ambery coconuty and a bit of citrus, i would probably wear it in a late summer night or afternoon, great for under 40!

A variation of its historic older brother, the classic, hyper-known Eau de toilette, this Intense version drastically changes its accords making it even more universal and therefore more youthful and extroverted.
Suitable for men, it can be worn in any situation without ever looking disfiguring, but always on days or evenings with medium-high temperatures.
Perfume with a rather high quality-price ratio, easily available in any commercial perfumery, and excellent as a gift without having to spend a fortune.

in my experience with this fragrance longevity is about 7-8 hours with the first 2-3 hours of strong projection and as time passes it sits closer to the skin. smells like a nice shower gel fragrance with smooth amber notes and for the price is amazing!
Just bought and wear it!This frag makes me feel like a p*rn star on a tropical island😂.From my nose it's mainly GREEN MANDARINE then u get a hint of that COCONUT NECTAR, on the dry down tropical fresh out the shower soapy and sexy MASCULINE scent, I saw many BAD REVIEWS on this and I was shocked when i smelled it,that's why I encourage dudes to go out and actually smell frags not just listening to tiktokers. This cheapy smell better than those overly hyped 2023-2024 summer fragrances
the best description for this one is it is clean, with a hint of mandarin, does not have have great longevity. for the price it is a good buy for a clean scent. it reminds me of a very weak jpg le male
Starts off with a strong green mandarin smell and slowly turns into a tropical, sweet smell which is great. Lasts about 7 hours for me. I bought a 125ml one for 35$ which is an absolute steal for a perfect spring/summer fragrance that you can easily pull of in the autumn and winter too. 8.5/10, but 10/10 for the money.
initial spray of this i almost vomited. i've never smelled the original cool water but to me this intense flanker leans toward more feminine its clean it's soapy and there's a hint of citrus as well. to my inexperience nose i don't smell the coconut. i get decent performance not like the beast mode some are getting but i do tend to get nose blind easily
This is a pretty good buy! I don’t smell much coconut which may be a good thing since a lot of the bad reviews I’ve seen were about the coconut smelling “synthetic”. It’s fresh but more sweet and warm. When I first sprayed it was a pretty good warm citrus smell. After that it goes into a smooth amber smell. The amber comes across very sweet and a bit spicy(which I enjoy a lot). Because of the warm amber I feel like this could be a signature scent. Seems very easy to wear all year round. I get 6+ hours easily. And 4-5 sprays can easily fill a room. Lower the sprays in high heat, I can see this becoming cloying. Will be one of my all season mains because I love the spice I’m picking up in the amber.

At first glance you'd think this is just a sequel to the original with better performance. However, you'd think wrong. The scent profiles are nothing alike. Either way, I saw coconut so I wanted to try it. Not much else to say. Here's how it went;
Scent:
Opening is ambery, citrusy, and tropical. The only three notes listed in the fragrance are green mandarin, coconut nectar, and amber; and I'm able to pick all of them out easily. The strongest notes are the green mandarin and amber. The mandarin has a rind-y orange type of citrus accord while the amber carries its signature resinous sweetness. This is followed by the coconut nectar for a creamy and tropical coconut note in the background. The dry down is ambery and tropical. The only notes I get are the amber and coconut nectar, with the stronger note being the amber by far. The citrus note had completely burned off and left a big dose of resinous amber with a tinge of tropical coconut accord in the background. The dry down was very reminiscent of a fragrance from Paco Rabanne's 1 Million line. Not a particular one, just that sort of vibe.
Performance:
Initial projection is moderately strong at around 3 feet. Sillage matches that strength with a noticeable but controlled scent trail. After a few hours the projection was light and under arms length, while the scent trail was still moderately noticeable. At around the 7 hour mark the projection was completely gone but there was still a slight scent trail. The fragrance was entirely a skin scent shortly thereafter.
When to wear:
This is a spring/summer fragrance most suited for daytime wear, but could also be worn on warm nights thanks to the heavy-handed amber note. This would not be my choice for an office scent, but it could work well on a date night.
Blind buy:
If you like amber-driven fragrances, but can also enjoy tropical vibes, this is a safe blind buy for you.
Final verdict:
It's a good fragrance. It doesn't do any particular thing exceedingly well, but it hits the target in all the important categories. Smells good, decent performance, and it's people-pleasing. I probably won't be picking up a full bottle just because I already own tropical scents and ambery scents; so it would be a little redundant for me. However, if you need something like that in your collection it's a great budget pick.
Scent: 7/10
Longevity: 7/10
Sillage: 6/10
This is an impressive fragrance, a nice, clean, fresh smell, but the performance is terrific, lasted an age on me, and the sillage was better than many other mainstream options. A few people asked me about it, their faces dropped when I said Cool Water. I love it.
Wow just wow. In general i’m into blue fragrances probably cause i’m still only 15 and like fresh fragrances. I was looking for a fresh fragrance that lasts a while and has good performance. i walked into my uncles room and i saw this fragrance sitting on his table, of course i smelled it and knew i had to get it ASAP. i sprayed it once on my hand to see how long it would have lasted (it was in the morning when i sprayed) it lasted ALL DAY and after even showering the same day i could still feel it on my wrist. and the performance was also great cause even in the evening before i went to shower my mom asked me what i was wearing even tho i hadn’t gone close to her just one spray was enough to make her feel it across the room. great price, great smell, great longevity and great performance.
One of the best blue fragrances out there, direct competitor to Sauvage and Dylan Blue, the Davidoff being more long lasting than both. You can use it all year round (like most blues out there) and in any occasion you want. The scent is quite sharp and it SURELY has Ambroxan , despite it not being listed as a note. Another thing I really like about this is the sprayer. Sprays a very good amount on the skin and also shoots decently. The opening has this playful orange note I really love, while the base is where some darkness starts when the amber and ambroxan come in, followed by the coconut middle note. In my head it smells like I imagine myself going to a luxurious hotel in the moutains and taking a shower in the bath of my hotel room, which has a window with a view at the forest, and while I look at it while being in the shower I use this orange and coconut smelling shower gel. That's how I imagine it.
Not bad! Classic man fresh fragrance with a good longevity. It smell a bit cheap, but in the end is the classic fresh smell that everyone like.
Beast mode of a fragrance. It smells way better in the air rather than spraying it on your hand and smelling it as it is very overpowering. The more you wear it the more you will like it. Its a very good everyday signature scent as it is very cheap, long lasting, and has a great projection. Not too sweet allowing it to be perfect as a daily use. Would give it a 10/10 just for the price tag and for it being a beast mode fragrance.
Unisex and I honestly find it more feminine. Pretty shocking and random to have the cool water name attached to something like this..
sweet synthetic ambery tropical juice
tiare lotion not so much coconut to my nose though
smells like tahiti lol
totally unisex
smells really good honestly
A cheap synthetic coconut and citrus smell with an overpowered ambroxan smell that smells like the pungent ambergris that my dog rolls in down at the beach. A failed blind buy based off the YouTube reviews. Definitely recommend smelling it before you buy.
Really nice mandarin and vanilla, decently fresh and also sweet. Synthetic coconut but it is well blended in the background and I doubt will cause problems. Very good longevity and projection.
Warm coconut cocktail which everybody would find pleasant (blind buy safe). For the price with discount (20$-35$) it’s really worth it. It lasts around 5-6 hours on my skin with only 4 sprays, yet i have dry skin that decreases the longevity on any perfume, so i predict it would last +2 hours more on you. Try it out.
Good cheapie with decent longevity on skin and clothing.
Ordered this to get over the free shipping amount on notino (it's that cheap where I live). I must say I really liked this in summer and will take it to Thailand in spring as my hot weather scent, since I ordered the smallest bottle available. I have the feeling it'll do well in tropical environments, since it's uplifting and fun.
The coconut is there for me, and yes it smells a bit synthetic, but it blends well with the fresh orange and the amber.
It's kind of a no brainer/dumb reach for the warmer months, even with all of it's sweetness.
Smells a bit like Versace Eros on the dry down. But I feel like Cool Water is slightly intense (no pun intended).
It smells like a tropical holiday in the Carribbeans 🍹☀️.
Gorgeous bombastic scent 10/10.
These reviews are getting worse and worse:
- one dude "bought a 100ml bottle" obviously there is no 100ml only 40, 75, 125ml
- one dude wants, ironically "more coconut"
- more people saying is similar to Eros or to Dylan Blue in 90% proportion - no, it's not!
It is a well blended, well made, better than all arab stenches from past years... fresh and solid, lasting cheapie!
It smells decent and nobody will say anything bad.
6/10
Would give any Lataffa, Hanalabanala, Abudullahana, clones... ALL DAY CLASS!
Lasts decently 4-10hrs and projects for 2-3 hours really good.
Stop this BS, this is a great fragrance for the price and wipes the floor with clones and others!
This perfume doesn’t smell anything special when you sniff up close. But I noticed after using it for many years, it leaves a very nice scent trail . Very nice indeed, very ambery and dark scent trail.
There was a lot of hyper around Davidofff Coolwater and I ended up buying this blindly. Pretty good, the coconut is unique, it performs admirably for something that smells fresh. It's a fresh out of the shower scent, however nothing that stands out or demands attention. A solid everyday wear, however nothing that is going to be noticed a lot.
A while back i wrote a bad review but this has grown on me. Should have more coconut in it, quite synthetic you can really feel that.
Mediocre, miss the original from 1988. This is just Okey. smell wise not my favourite. Coconut not really there more of a sharp smell. Dont know when it shines the most. Winter at home maybe. its a meh for me.
A Solid Clone of Rochas Lhomme - Davidoff Cool Water Intense Review
⭐⭐⭐☆☆
Davidoff Cool Water Intense is a solid release from the house of Davidoff, but don’t expect it to be anything like the legendary Cool Water, which is a timeless classic. This fragrance is more like a clone of Rochas Lhomme, with some hints of Oriflame Eclat Homme Sport. If you want to know more about the scent itself, you can read my review on Rochas Lhomme.
The main notes of this fragrance are pineapple, amber, and sea notes. I don’t get any coconut from it, unlike Jacques Fath Curacao Bay, which is a coconut bomb. However, the pineapple note gives it some resemblance to Creed Aventus, which is a popular niche fragrance. This fragrance is likely to get you compliments, as it has a pleasant and fresh aroma.
The performance of this fragrance is above average, as it lasts for at least 6 hours on my skin, with good projection for the first 2 hours. I would give it 4 stars if Rochas Lhomme didn’t exist, as it is very similar to it. If you like Versace Eros, you might also like this fragrance, as they both have a sweet and fruity vibe. This fragrance is a good blind buy worthy blue aromatic release, especially if you are looking for something affordable and versatile.
This is the perfect budget scent for a guy.
If you dont want to spend much money on perfume but still want to smell good this is it versitile works in every season even winter. strong and lasts a while. a no brainer for the privce
ovr: its a 10/10 just for the price.
Yeah you will smell good but not amazing .
Considering its price this is a W .
preformance is good (2h+ projection , 7h+ longetivity ) .
Synthetic coconut, for me this is aromatic also kinda balsamic kinda dislike, so bad scent kinda give me nausea. Performance are moderate on me, maybe it could be long lasting when you overspray it. 5/10
Cool indeed, fresh, very classy, and a decent fragrance... I get a mild creamy base with a fresh, nice manly feel, but I don't specifically detect coconut... it's more like a smooth, delicate, citrusy fragrance like creamy citrusy ice cream, something like that.
I believe it's amazing for all occasions... Seriously, it's like a 🃏 it's cooling and uplifting for the morning, office, and all casual occasions....The delicacy in the dry-down also makes it perfect for date night or intimate time... It's a soft, citrusy, not bright, tart, or zingy fragrance.... A very gentlemanly basic fragrance...
I tested it on a paper strip, unsure about the longevity and performance.
It's an 8.5/10 big 💘 blind buying safe👍
TLDR : Good daily, cheap, dark fresh, coconut on dry down, projects for 3 hours
On the dry down the fragrance becomes basically non existant to as i have to put my nose to clothes or skin that i spray this onto, however, the dry down does make the coconut really stand out.
In the opening it smells very fresh, not fruity or sweet but fresh and not minty, all i smell in the opening amber.
It lasts very long on my skin and projects very well until 3 hours when it almost seems it just suddenly stops.
Very cheap, i got a 100ml and not afraid to overspray, good to keep as a daily.
In my opinion this is all seasons although i see people say this is a day summer, its a winter night for me.
Sometimes you just want to smell something that makes you happy. Cool Water Intense is one of those fragrances that will lift your spirits and make you feel good. Some say "Summer in a bottle", and I can definitely understand that point of view. Is CWI ground breaking? No. Is it filled with natural elements that only the finest noses will appreciate? No.
Let's be honest with each other here: when it comes to niche hobbies like fragrances, some "enthusiasts" get to be snob-level and they can't see the forest for the trees. We all entered this hobby because we like to smell good, and we like scents that make us happy - scents that we enjoy. Can you really look me in the eyes and truthfully tell me you want to smell like a bat cave full of civet and burning oud? Come on people. Nobody WANTS to smell like that, and better yet, ABSOLUTELY NOBODY wants to smell that ON YOU. If you're buying those fragrances - and you know which house I'm referencing here - it's because you're trying to be edgy. Pause for a moment, take a deep breath, remember how you got here.
Along the way on that journey to the "Cave of Horrendous Scents" it was many bottles of similar scents to Cool Water Intense. Why? Because it SMELLS DAMN GOOD. It is fresh, "blue", mildly sweet, with creamy coconut balancing the sweetness. It isn't an Almond Joy coconut, but more of a coconut butter body lotion vibe. Yeah, it has ambroxan in it. Yeah, it has a darker deeper citrus note. Sandalwood for sure, and maybe a hint of freesia. But CWI still has that original Cool Water DNA in it - and I love that. It projects really well for the first 2 hours, and it lasts a good 6 - 8 hours, which is excellent, considering the price. I was able to get a 4.2oz tester for under $50 USD at the time of writing this. Certainly, that is a bargain.
The best part is that Cool Water Intense is definitely unique enough to stand out as having its own vibe. So there you have it folks. It smells fantastic, it projects well, it lasts long, it's cheap, and it's unique. What else can you want from a fragrance?
Better try this frag on your skin before buying. Got it blindbuy and got a weird allergy (doesn’t happen with others I have in my collection). But overall it’s a good freshy with a bit of depth and amazing longevity.
Definetly go for anyone, safe frags
but not fancy at all
smell just okay and cheap
7.4/10
I find the experience of wearing it as etherial , all the summer memories….the fragrance stayed with me throughout the whole season . Was definitely a signature one for a significant amount of time. Bought it three times and will soon buy it again . Truly a masterpiece .
Great cologne for cheap price
Work best in spring and fall
But i ware it all year around
Compliment getter with good performance
10/10
One my favourite fragrances
I got mutiple bottles
Smell is awesome
Price is cheap
I picked this up as a random grab from my local drugstore. Absolutely stunned by how well this performs. I only need to spray this three times and it can last up to 10 hours with great sillage. The smell is a little synthetic but not in a way that makes it smell not good. The only thing I don't really like is that the fragrance isn't super complex and the performance makes it relatively hard to layer with other fragrances (One spray of this overpowered 4 sprays of 4 different fragrances lol). All things considered, highly recommend this because it's cheap, performs well and can easily work in most seasons.
The last thing I would call this edp is "summer fragrance". All I get is sweetish boring amber. Davidoff is almost identical to Armaf Ombre Oud Intense.
One of my longest lasting summer scents. Beautiful citrus and very easy to wear. Much more unique than the normal cool water but it’s nothing unusual. Similar vibes to Dylan blue in my opinion. Davidoff atomizers are beautiful. 9/10 definitely recommend
Intense has grown on me - I’m on my third bottle since it was released and I’m appreciating it more than I did previously.
After the first 20 minutes or so, once the mandarin has died down it becomes linear - a sweet fresh clean fragrance with some soapiness. Very good performance, all season, good for casual and office wear (adjust number of sprays accordingly).
Nice bottle - of course the same as the classic Cool Water EDT but in a darker shade of blue. The usual top notch Davidoff atomiser.
Excellent value - can be found for a very affordable price at reputable online retailers.
Just got a bottle of this. I'm not getting the beastly performance it's known for, nor do I get any coconut at all. I get mint for some reason, and a citrus note, a mix of a blue and green scent profile. Smells like shaving foam if I'm honest and it reminds me strongly of something I've smelled before, my brain is saying it's a CK or Versace scent but I can't quite put the dots together yet.
Off to the cold dark cupboard of doom it goes to macerate until spring.
This, for me is an extremely versatile frag, pretty much all seasons. With CW Intense, I go easy on the trigger, still great performance, longevity and at a great price. I have a small handful of frags being signature material. CW Intense along with Dunhill Icon is at the very top. The latter being most suited for Office IMO.
EDIT: Ok, so I'm pretty hyped right now, layering two sprays CW Intense with a spray of Armani SWY EdT, for getting a bit more sweet/warm spicyness for the coming colder months. Seems to play out well for me, longevity-wise, too.
Marin Kristic from Scent Grail advises this for a summer evening. I agree as it’s a little bit tropical, syrupy and inviting.
Very long lasting. I did smell it on my neck the next morning when I woke up with just 1 spray. It's unique in a good way and in a bad way.
If you wore cool water the original you need time to get on this as well.
The sillage is projecting without a doubt more than average.
If you walk in a hallway, they are going to notice you.
It's very powerful scent and can overwhelm some people if you go to school, university or crowded workspace.
I recommend it for teenagers and adults in the range of 16 - 36.
If you buy this, 2 sprays on the neck and you are more than powerful for the whole day.
At first, the start is rough, very strong and piercing smell that can even hurt the nose.
After a while on the skin it smells a lot better, sweet pleasant smell that projects well.
It is worth the price in my opinion, i blind bought it and i like it a lot.
If you are into a sweet clean smell definitely a buy.
Nuclear performance, borderline naseus so spray responsibly!
Extremely easy and straightforward composition which gives versace eros/ ysl y vibes. Mix of freshness and sweetness (the sweetest of the mentioned 3).
Overall great for a cheapie, it gives amazing reactions and people seem to love it, for me it's really strong and I can't really find myself wearing it during daytime too much. It seems like a perfect club scent tbh. Overall a solid recommendation but don't expect anything suave
Very strong and lasts forever but not offensive or complex. Right off the bat my one friend said it smelled like Versace Eros. My other friend described a freshly showered gentleman on a date. I think it smells like if there was a Davidoff Hot Water EDP. Not aquatic at all. Deffinatly going in that citrus amber sugary vanilla direction that "blue" fragrances are rapidly evolving towards. Versace blue jeans meets Versace Eros flame and had a love child that Davidoff adopted. I personally LOVE IT. Smells expensive but basic so to me it's the modern age in fragrance form. It's art. Take it as you wish.
I like it. I think this could be a year round scent. Modern blue fragrance with slight sweetness along with the freshness.
It's too sweet that it's cloying. More than 2 sprays and I get nauseous.
Dominant notes are sugary citrus and amber notes. Coconut note comes in third but it's not the primary thing you smell.
The only thing worth praising this scent for is its performance. Literal beast mode, lasts 12+ hours and projects 3+ feet all throughout the duration.
Don't blind buy this! If you are curious, just get a small decant or sample first if you can.
Disgusting.
The fruity parts are very synthetic, and the amberwoody base is the final nail in the coffin, so incredibly tacky and cloying.
Yes, it performs like crazy, but damn it’s unbearable.
Ambery, coconut, and somewhat tropical. A go to high heat fragrance as this can hold up to the heat without being nauseating in any way. Could be a year round fragrance but I feel it has a vibe not as well suited to colder weather. Basic but pleasing and performance is fantastic on my skin. Probably won't "wow" you but there is something about this one that keeps me coming back to it.
This one clearly must have been reformulated because the 2019 batch and early 2020 batch I have are very, very strong. In the reviews below, everyone over the last year is saying how performance is mediocre at best. If it has been reformulated, shame on them.
Bought this mainly because it was advertised as strong in projection and longevity and it didn't disappoint.
At least my batch has overwhelming projection and longevity. It stays super long on my skin and on my sweater it stayed until I washed it (which was a very long time).
I am not a fan of the scent though. I'd say this is more for dudes in late teens/early 20s.
Just bought a bottle of this for $39 AUD and I'm absolutely thrilled. I am so impressed that I'm starting to think that I might prefer this over Dior Sauvage and Bleu de Chanel. The mandarin/orange note is lovely. If you're looking for a fragrance on a budget that delivers, this is for you.
Decent smell, it's very sweet and heavy on amber, it doesn't smell similar at all to the original cool water, it's sweeter and less fresh.
I only wear it to the office or when i workout it's just not special enough for dating, clubbing or going out in general.
Performance is amazing honestly for the price it lasts around 7 hours on me and projects like a beast for atleast 4 hours, i bought it at $33 for 125ml bottle.
I would recommend it only if you have other fragrances, you can't rely on that one for all occasions.
Very good and interesting smell and although it smells like a lot of other mass appealing smells it also has some uniqueness as well !
This opens up very powerful with a blast of rope green mandarin and that amber is very apparent making this fresh, creamy and sweet(but not too much) in the mid the coconut comes out making this a bit more creamy but it only has that effect and if you didn’t know this had coconut you wouldn’t know this note was added. The drydown you get mostly the amber with the green mandarin still in the drydown and at this stage it loses all sharpness and is almost in gourmand territory! The drydown is my favorite part and at this stage it smells like a mixed drink I tried in Jamaica !!
I’d say in a nutshell this is a heavy, tropical type scent that again is very potent so no more than 3 sprays and in the summer id suggest only 1 spray.
This is a perfect going out scent but because of the sweetness and strength I don’t think it will be a good casual day to day scent and I would for sure stay away from this in an office setting.
Performance- AMAZING performance as this projects beast mode for 1 hour and still very heavily up until the 3 hour mark. After the 3 hour mark it’s still a noticeable skin scent that will leave a heavy sillage trail. This stuff lasts me 24+ hours and will stay on skin until I take a shower.
Overall rating -7.5 out of 10 ! Surprisingly good scent from Davidoff with amazing performance but because of that beastly performance loses points for versatility
Cool Water Intense does not resemble the OG in any way, but for me, that's fine. I've used it most as a base scent sprayed to the chest under my shirt and it finds its way to the surface to color whatever other fragrance I choose to wear outwardly throughout the day. It's longevity is superior to the original and its sillage is playful and quite appealing to a young adult crowd. It's rather versatile and should not be overlooked because of its cheap price or mistaken to be like the OG. I've only given it away to help my nephews get started in the game with a fragrance that I truly enjoy, but I'll definitely be buying it again. It's straightforward and though not very exciting, it is likened to a staple that may be appropriate for any collector's stash~
I'm letting this one macerate for a month or two. Doesn't seem to be a lot of strength to it
Tried this at a local store. On my skin I get a D&G The One amber drydown with a fresh/green mandarin twist. Not headache inducing or overly sweet at all. Unique enough to add a bottle to my collection.
Davidoff Cool Water Intense bears little resemblance to the original Cool Water, but that doesn't diminish its appeal. The original Cool Water immerses you in the ocean waves, while Cool Water Intense transports you to a vibrant beachside cocktail bar, creating a different ambiance and experience.
This fragrance is incredibly versatile, suitable for both men and women. It delivers excellent value for its price, making it a great investment. Furthermore, it has the potential to be a hidden gem for layering with other scents, allowing for creative and personalized fragrance combinations.
For the price 10/10
I blind bought a 40 ml its just a super strong cloying sweet synthetic suncreen cologne all the notes just mush and mix together cant really tell anything apart what notes this what notes that what notes are what. A dumb reach no brainer wear anytime don't spray to much kinda headache inducing its alittle similar to eros if you're new into cologne and want something that'll last thats not worth much shure i recommend
This is honestly my favorite scent. Pefectly sweet, fresh, creamy, and smooth. I do agree it's similar to eros, but what I like about this is its versatility. I feel that it's an all season, anytime of day scent. The sweetness defiently carries it into the colder months, but probably more of an indoor than outdoor scent at that time. Summer, spring, and fall is a no brainer for this. Easy reach imo. Value is great too, got my bottle 2 years ago and have no regrets. If you have the chance to test before you buy, I would say so as your liking may change to your prefrences/age. But imo this is an easy blind buy if it fits what you like. Great performance, great scent, great value.
I like it, but it doesn't match up to the original in terms of scent. It's kind of soapy which isn't bad, but it does make it hard to smell the things that make regular Cool Water appealing.
The difference between this and eros let me explain,
Eros has vanilla & mint, it's fresher
Cool water intense - it has the same tonka and sweetness as eros, the main difference is coconut instead of vanilla and no mint. Instead of mint they use citrus which makes this smell more like a lime & coconut tropical fragrance. Eros is not tropical smelling but this is. This is what ever lime & coconut fragrance wishes it smelled like. If you want that tropical holiday drinking coconuts on the beach type smell this is it...with tonka added in it. Tonka ain't going to be everyones cup of tea so keep that in mind
With that said, yes you could say it smells like eros in some ways but you can also say it's completely different
Reminds me of Eros for sure. I don’t really smell the coconut, the comparison to le beau seems a lil crazy to me. It is nice for the price.
A lot like Versace Eros with toned down sweetness and more mint, does explain a little about the name "cool water". The initial spray has more fruits and dries down to a moderately sweet, amber wood, ambroxan, mint fragrance. Not bad at all for a cheap price, it does smell mass appealing but a little too familiar with blue fragrances. Coconut wise, its not that strong, more of a fruity sweet coconut dessert perhaps.
What a great fragrance. At the moment this retails for around $45 in Australia, which given its longevity and performance, it's a no-brainer. It's worth a blind buy. Why? It's an incredibly safe fragrance. Fresh, creamy, sweet and mass appealing with high versatility. It's also got character - it evolves and has a bit of spiciness in the dry down which gives it a richer, gourmandy feel. I believe it does suffer for carrying the Cool Water brand name, given it has no similarities. I also believe once its discontinued, clone houses will be all over this scent profile.
nuclear performance can u imagine after 24 hours and just 2 sprays it still projects off my shirt ?
this perfume is a huge hidden gem
This one is warmer and more versatile than the OG CW. Really a frag for any occasion and season. The amber is very prominent, with a touch of citrus and coconut (though for me the cononut isn't that strong). Overall a manly scent just like the original with a good balance of sweetness and freshness. Great value for money imo as the performance is very good.
Wonderful ambery scent. Quite unique I would say. Could still smell it on my wrist after my showers. Worth the price paid. A total different smell compared to DCW
Scent: 5/10
Sillage: 6/10
Longevity: 9/10
Value: 8.5/10
Overall: 7/10
Would I recommend it?
Yes, in terms of longevity, this is a beast for its price point it easily lasts me 6-8 hours on my skin. It should also be noted that the smell is completely irrelevant to the original Cool Water, I think this is a lot more versatile than its predecessor as this could be worn throughout all seasons. However, I am not a big fan of the smell, it smells like a mixture of a shower gel and a swimming pool locker room after it's cleaned (as mentioned by one of the reviews below). Personally, I don't particularly dislike it but I don't love it either, but overall it's reasonably a solid fragrance just simply not for me.
Really nice amber smell. Great for anytime use. If you see this cheap get it.
The dry down scent trail on this on a mild summers evening is amazing. I was on the fence with this at one stage but it has definitely won me over.
This reminds me of Sauvage more than the OG. I happen to like Sauvage and I like this one a lot. It is fresh, green and a little citrusy. More versatile and classy than the original which is more appropriate as a casual gym cologne. . This one can be worn anywhere. A real mood elevator.
This is a monster. Let me tell you something:
I went to meet my wife after her work in a shopping mall and put 5 sprays before going out. I stood like 10 metres away from her shop behind a corner. When she has finished and came to me, the first thing she told was: "I knew you are here, I could smell your cologne everywhere". This stuff is nuclear at least the bottle I have (2019 batch)
Good Stuff:
• It smells fresh and manly, with a good mix of citrus, mint, and wood smells.
• You can wear it for any situation, whether it's for work or going out with your buds.
• The bottle looks cool, with a sleek blue color that matches the name of the fragrance.
• The price is reasonable, so you're getting a good deal for a quality fragrance.
Not So Good Stuff:
• You may need to spray some more throughout the day.
• It may not be the best choice if you want a scent that really fills up a room.
• It's not the most unique fragrance out there
Dragged this out of the donation bin after thinking about what would layer well with "Montblanc - Signature"....COOL WATER INTENSE!!
Welp...looks like this is back in action after a year in the closet.
It just needed the right companion.
22AUG23:
Welp, after playing with this one again for a few months I'm down to half the bottle. However, I don't wear this one for the coconut anymore...there just isn't enough coconut. It's more amber and citrus...
I ordered a bottle of "JPG - Le Beau" to get a real coconut fragrance.
This one may go back into storage...
Davidoff Cool Water Intense is a shower gel scent that is extremely cheap and offers a great green, citrussy scent. I personally prefer the smell of the original, but this version is way more versatile and trumps the original in silage and longevity. Can be worn in the classic Davidoff-marketed Summer & Spring, with the Intense being more than viable for colder days in Autumn.
While it is cheap, it does smell synthetic, it does actually impress people. It's definitely masculine-leaning, sort of like how you would purchase a male body wash. So you can confidently walk around knowing you smell clean and out of the shower (which women love). You get way more than what you pay for with this fragrance.
Sunscreen (synthetic coconut) with some very one dimensional amber and a bit of indeed green mandarin or mandarin zest. Definitely missed the drydown part some people are mentioning here. Smelled very much the same all the way through. Longevity ain't bad though easily 6 hours for sure. Sillage and projection are in between moderate and strong.
This is a really good smelling perfume. Upon first spray, it smells quite sweet and citrusy and dries down to a really addictive smell. It is very very strong, lasts bloody ages and can probably fill a room with its smell. Don't overspray this though, you will get a headache.
I got it for a great price on Notino, where you can get a 125ml bottle for under £30 with free delivery (I highly recommend buying this).
Don't let the name fool you though. This and the normal Cool Water are very different. This one smells quite deep and fruity, with not much freshness. The normal Cool Water is quite sporty smelling and much more fresh. Between the two, I'd pick this one (Cool Water Intense), because I'm not much of a sporty person.
I am quite new in the fragrance world, and I am just some guy who wanna be smell good in front of others (especially women). I live in a tropical country and its always hot here and im in college thats why im finding an inexpensive fragrance that would last long, smell good, and cheap. This fragrance right here is the best if you want to nail those three i have mentioned. The first time ive smelled it is like amber with a little bit of coconut, but after a few days of wearing it, the citrus amber and the coconut blends together perfectly. I get 8 hours to 12 hours of longevity here. Also this frag pretty cheap.
Totally different from the OG Cool Water. The DNA is sweet. The amber does the job well. The dry down is the best part of this scent. You can’t get enough smelling it. Would totally wear it on any day around the year. 8/10 scent. At this price point, it’s an awesome deal.
This was my first designer fragrance and i love it. It smells fresh, sweet and a little woody. I got so many compliments with this. 10/10 Blind buy
Blind buyed.
Smells like swimming pool locker room after cleaning.
Gave me a strong headache from how synthetic it smells
3/10
i like how unique this is. it’s familiar, yet fails to remind me of any particular fragrance. coconut and amber is a nice warm take on an aquatic fragrance.
This is my second review about this amazing Annick Menardo DCW flanker. Because I want to say this one develops so well in the bottle. In the beginning I thought this was to sharp and strong with a cheap amber dry down. But after 8 months of maceration I get such a wonderful unique sweet smell. The headache inducing strength is not there anymore and I really like this. Got me several compliments too. The price is amazing. Great value. Really into all the Cool Water flankers now.
the opening is very strong on my nose to the point where i almost dizzy but 10 minutes or so the smell turns out nice- fresh citrusy with the creamy coconut, a sweetness lingering in between.
i think spray this as needed, dont overspray unless you want to feel dizzy in the first 10 minutes of spraying this fragrance
Although I think that this fragrance's DNA is very simple, I really like it. Sweet, coconut, with an amber base, you can't go wrong with it.
8.7/10
I just got a 125 ml bottle which I blind-bought and totally not disappointed.
For the initial spray, my female friend told me the perfume smelled kind of like "typical blue fragrances" which most of the man perfume conveys, and I kind of agreed on it.
But not after I passed the first 2 hours of spray when the dry-down is amazing and just my thing!
Warmly ambery with creamy coconut vibe to it. Great for daytime and summertime fragrance.
It is very much worth it with the price tag. (8.5/10)
citrus opening, creamy coconut middle, pure amber dry down. pairs well with and amplifies other fragrances. highly recommended for those who like layering. turns cheap stuff into better projectors.
This one is simillar to few mainstream popular fragrances. It's inspired by them, best to say. In the opening, i get a mix of AHS (beacouse of the orange) and JPG Ultra Male. After orange is mostly gone, it's a mix of Ultra Male and Eros. Later, when there is slight coconut nectar touch, it's a mix of Eros and Le Beau. When all of that is gone, it's very simillar to Eros EDP. Trough the whole time of the fragrance, i also get a slight hint od Invictus vibe as well. What is this fragrance to me ? Well, it really reminds of some tropical drink, or maybe lotion, sunscreen. It's strong, sweet, bubblegummy and fresh. Performance are insane, you easily get a 12+ hours wih few sprays. Projection is wery loud in first 3 hours, then it's lighter. Be carefull in the high heat, don't overspray! The price for 120ml bottle is such a bargain, i can't think really of a better fragrance with sent&performance to cost ratio. It's nothing amazing, nothing new or unique, but it's a very safe choice and you will get compliments.
This is currently my favorite frag. I don't care what the haters say. Next to the original cool water and maybe Versace eros, this is my most complimented fragrance of all time. I personally don't really pick up the coconut like others say. Mostly I get orange peel, cinnamon, ambroxen and a bit of florals (geranium?). Very versatile and compliment getting.
This one is in my top 3 favourite fragrances. It's clean, fresh, floral (everyone I asked said it smells like flowers so I'm not going insane xD) and a bit citrusy. Performance is pretty damn good as well and the price is even better. Even if you don't want it for yourself, it's a great gift material.
The opening spray brings about an unexpectedly pleasant aroma, progressing into an appealing dry down. However, caution is warranted, as it could potentially become overpowering and even slightly offensive. I would advise against wearing it in warmer weather, as it might not be well received by those around you. The longevity, in my experience, is moderate, contrary to the extended duration described by some.
I did not get good performance from this. Very disappointed. Reviewers on yt really lied about this and overhyped it. Light coconut sunscreen smell. Another letdown
This perfume deserves all the good things people said about it, in my opinion, it is suitable in many occasions. Be it day or night, you can never go wrong with this perfume.
The scent will surely confuse people, it can be sweet, creamy and refreshing at the same time which depends on the person's nose on how to interpret the smell. It gives people the benefit of the doubt with the smell.
The opening has the same strong citrus smell like Armaf CDNIM. On the drydown, it has that coconut-like smell which makes it creamy and reminds me of Polo Red Ralph Lauren since I only have that fragrance to compare with.
Overall, it performs well in any weather/situation and smells significantly good which is not bad for the price.
Blind buy. Maybe I had too big expectations. It is not so bad for its price. Performance is ok but not as great as on the charts here. Extremely synthetic. My wife does not like it.
Initially smells like orange sunscreen but dry down is amazing and turns 'blue'. Very good for the price. Longitivity is amazing.
Really like this. Nothing like the O.G. a solid everyday/office/gym choice IMO. Don't have much left - will be buying more.
Projection and performance is alright.
8/10
Hey Davidoff, hire Pierre Bourdon, release an actual "intense" version of Cool Water, and take my money.
A perfume that will remain in history and that in all its forms you do not regret the expense. Fresh, sporty, aggressive but always with the composure that others are unable to imitate. Excellent on any occasion from the evening to after sport. Chemistry emerges according to its evolution but does not distort its DNA.
This was a blind buy. I don't totally regret it because it was cheap and long-lasting. Anyways, it's synthetic, very synthetic. It'll never really get you any compliments(because it's so generic and not attractive in any way), you'll just smell decent. So I'll say it's 5.5/10 for me. There are better cheapies out there.
Cool water intense, the coconut kinda... a lil bit sweet and synthetic. Longevity is good around 7-8 hours on my skin, idk but the projection is kinda weak (moderate). and lastly, I never had the original Davidoff, but I can tell that this is a very different fragrance based on the notes fragrantica shown. intense just like the name said, but only at the opening for me, after 15 minutes the scent of this fragrance was gone from my room. is it worth it? ...nope, but if you're new to this world of fragrance then go ahead and try this, the option between this fragrance is Nautica Voyage. I'll never buy this bottle again.
A good scent, not my first choice but if I’m in the mood I’ll wear it.
A good summer fragrance that will get compliments, easy on the spritzing though, it is a strong projector and longevity is actually pretty good as well despite not being expensive.
Please, wait till drydown to understand it's true beauty. It has harsh opening, but very nice drydown, which is the moment that people around you will mostly smell it. I get compliments all the time wearing this long lasting fragrance. A little goes a long way. Please, don't spray too much. 2 or 3 spritz will do the job.
Not great smelling. Literally just synthetic coconut and strong amber. Really outdated scent in my opinion. Bought this blind on sale and ended up giving it to my father. However the performance is excellent, beast mode in fact, for that I can still respect this fragrance
this is perfume LONGEVITY to me is 8-12hrs this is unique am not usually smell this to other price is great value great blind buy for me
This is really bad. Blind buy and giving away. I really love the OG... i'm old and it smells great. The synthetic coconut is full on nauseating. I can't imagine anyone wanting to smell like this. Out of all the frangrances I own.. this is hands' down the worst of them. Make sure to try this first..but I can't imagine anyone that likes the OG to want to own or wear this flanker.
Blind buy fail. I received it today and unfortunately my experience is very similar to the last reviewer. Nauseating and generic. Nothing good about this fragrance at all. Note to self and others: don't blind-buy based on the note composition alone. What seems like it should be a winner is sometimes in fact a dud.
Do NOT buy this if you’re prone to experiencing headaches or nausea from fragrances. This is absolute dreadful, I applied one spray to my chest and instantly regretted it.
One of the harshest I've smelled, almost physically painful to the nose, and pure headache fuel.
@Eibextario I don't see many similarites with Roma Uomo. Sorry to say that but this is green mandarine on a cheap amber-shower gel base. I love Annick Menardo work and i kinda like this one because it's bold and long lasting but it's base is annoying and cheap. Roma Uomo is another one that i never liked that much but i's more vanilic. doens't have amber neither a shower gel vibe.
Gives a massive HEADACHE, every thing they say about is true like good smelling not bad sillage and longevity is good but boy oh boy does it give me a massive headache😭
3/10
I love it and would give it a 8/10 not something I would buy again just don't get the hype for this one.
Was in dire need of a new summer fragrance after experiencing disappointment with my recent purchase of Hugo Iced. I decided to go for one of the Cool Water flankers since they were both familiar and affordable. My tests revealed the following: Cool Water Wave smelled gross, the original Cool Water much better but missing something still.
Then I tried Cool Water Intense and realized that even though the opening green mandarin isn't particularly noticeable or enjoyable, it has a really nice dry-down. The thing I enjoy the most about it is that you get the coconut and amber notes together rather than one after the other. This combo is surprisingly effective and really changes the complexion of CWI. Having experienced disappointments before with coconut notes in fragrances, I find this a really bold and pleasing combination which Davidoff deserves praise for attempting. I never would have imagined that a combination of amber and coconut could produce such a lovely outcome.
Sillage isn't great and you might need 1-2 resprays to maintain a fresh feel throughout the day. But if you need a distinctive scent for spring and the beginning of summer, I feel this is a very good one to have.
A superb fragrance which can be used for almost any occasion. Extremely powerful fragrance and one to be used sparingly in the hight heat. Projects like a beast all day and one of the best performing fragrances I have ever tried. Amazing price as well considering how versatile and powerful it is. The scent is sweet and fresh, very heavy on the Amber. Reminds me of a less sweet version of eros edt so if you like eros then definitely give this one a blind buy.
There must be Symrise-paid bots voting thumbs down on 'Laura Biagiotti Roma Uomo' as "reminds me of". This is Roma Uomo in long-lasting. I see right through you, Mrs. Menardo. You just made the same fragrance twice.
This is the one you want - price/performance is better than with Roma Uomo.
Just got it. Not getting the beast performances everyone is talking about. But it’s above average though. Nice smell
This is not necessarily my favourite, but I can clearly see the appeal of this. To my nose, CWI has a similar effect to Dylan Blue, however rather than being a shower gel vibe, it is more of a tropical and sweet vibe through the coconut, which is prominent throughout the duration of the fragrance.
I also have to say that the performance of CWI is monstrous, particularly on my clothes. I'm currently wearing a t-shirt that I sprayed CWI on at least a week ago, and even now I still smell the fragrance in the air around me. For the price, if you favour the performance, this is hard to beat.
I liked it at first but after a month or so it started to smell very synthetic and i got nauseas from it when i smelled it. Its very cheap so it wouldnt hurt to blind buy this.
Bear with the beginning note after all that's why intense was added to the name, but once it starts to dry down you will begin to like it. The sillage is good enough for me and the longevity is 9hours +
Bought this fragrance a few weeks ago. First off, it's an absolute beast regarding value for money (30ish EUR / 125 mL on Notino). Speaking of notes, it has nothing to do with the original Cool Water, they only share that summer vibe. Nevertheless, I really liked it. Three notes (green mandarin, coconut and amber), changing accordingly over time. Not a lot but suits it just fine. Eventually you may not like this if you are a die-hard fan of the original Cool Water.
Projection and longevity are just beastly. Projecting pretty good for about 3 hours, compliments recieved multiple times, even on the outside occasions. As for the longevity, easy 12 hours on my skin, sometimes even more.
It's a pretty strong one, so don't overdo it (3-4 sprays are quite enough). And if you're about to drive a car long distance, don't put it immediately beforehand - it'll choke both you and the passenger(s). :D
All jokes aside, a brilliant, strong, well-performing beast fragrance.
Imagine a molecular soliflore. The flower is "mirror molecule". The molecule might morph to vaguely mirror "coconut" or "citrus" or "amber" but mostly it's just a mirror molecule.
Very conceptual. Your pleasure will depend on your tolerance for ambroxan and it's ability to smell cheap or chic, fresh or toxic. You'd expect this to appeal to young bros and I wonder how successful it has been because it's a clipped, not generous smell. It's artful and in theory fits the Cool Water image because it is liquid mirror impact but not in the 90s or 2000s way. Not "water" or "sea". Mercury. Coconut and vanilla are usually perceived as warm notes yet here they are ephemerally rendered, like those digital LED numbers in the Matrix mis-en-scene, which humans are duped to believe are real.
All the "reminds me of" suggestions to me smell like real notes with the exception of Sauvage on certain wearings in certain varieties. They have their synthetic tones but the nose is working on a connection to the natural world. Cool Water Intense starts in my nose as completely unreal and simulated, and then beams simulations of our tangible world, or not. Sometimes it's just a smooth molecule that vibrates very high.
This fragrance could be called Simulacra or Simulation, after Baudrillard. In my opinion only a master nose, and a famous one, would dare concoct this. First of all, get it right. Second, I think a lot of noses might have worked from a natural concept, but with synthetics, and might have put notes into it to make it friendlier.
Smells nice but I wouldn't do more than 2 sprays on the neck as it is headache-inducing and strong. I prefer to spray on my shirt. I wouldn't recommend it in hotter weather as you will choke yourself out. I do get eros edp vibes but with sweet amber and coconut.
It has potential it smells incomplete it could use a bit more base notes because the smell does not change its just linear would've been really good it had few more notes to it... first its a nice scent but youll get tired of it quick due to linear smell...
Quintessential "blue" fragrance. Doesn't smell of any of its ingredients in particular, just a (very) pleasant mix of unrecognizable notes. A more economic and niche-y alternative to bleu de chanel and sauvage.
Trying this fragrance again after almost a year away from it.
I just never reach for it...Amber isn't my deal, I'm a VANILLA addict.
Wearing this today and I'm reminded again why I didn't like it...I purchased it because of the reputed "Coconut" note only to find that it didn't exist...just heavy unending amber.
I moved on to real Vanilla frags and never looked back...until today.
In spite of it's longevity, mass appeal and acceptability...there just isn't anything interesting for me here.
This is such a "BLAH" fragrance when compared to the things I've discovered in the past year or so.
Take me back to my Vanilla frag fields and 80's powerhouses...
(Downgrading this frag to "ok")
Davidoff Cool Water Intense - This is better version than original. The scent is sweet fresh. Blind purchase suitable? Sure
Scent: 7.5/10
Longevity: 6/10
Sillage: 5/10
Bottle: 6/10
Value for money: 7.5/10
I really dont like this and regret buying it even at 25€.. Smells a bit like some sort of sun tan lotion.
How are people calling this thing a beast and getting 12+ hours with it? I get moderate longevity and moderate sillage. It smells good, but I only get the notes listed here. There is no vanilla in it. It doesn't smell anything like Eros and any of the other 35 fragrances in the reminds me of section. It's a likeable scent, but it's not amazing.
I wanted to have it for a while.
Not sure why.
Something about the brand the image of Cool Water. I knew it had great performance and that's something I am after recently. We don't want poor performing fragrances, they're pointless.
Finally got my hands on 125ml bottle through Notino on a very good deal. I paid around £21 with free shipping.
I actually expected it to smell differently it was a completely blind buy
But.......I love it !!!
It is heavy (I do like someones comparison to a car tree fragrance)
Not that it smells like one but it is just hard to describe.
It is an intensive great aroma, super long lasting, very masculine, I do get whifs of coconut nectar but only sometimes
It doesn't change much throughout the life cycle on my skin
It a brilliant work horse.
Super reliable and in fact versatile.
Woman like it a lot.
Great great buy, one of my favourites recently.
Definitely not suitable for hot (>28-30oC) weather, you will choke people.
Simple, synthetic smelling fragrance that is long lasting and good value. 2-3 sprays max will give you 8 hours of performance. The smell is pleasant but definitely not worthy of 4+ rating on Fragrantica.
Painfully synthetic, screechy, and annoying. Go with Cool Water EDT or Hot Water before this one.
Simple fragrance that smell great at any occasions. With good projection and long lasting too. Just don't spray too much and you're good to go. Great value as it's cheap and a safe choice.
Great value and a good, but simple, scent.
Long lasting on your skin but projection basically stops after the first 2 hours.
Good choice for everyday scent in hot spring/summer days.
Smelled on my uncle and got instant headache. I asked him how many sprays he wore he said 3. So yeah to me it's not bad scent it's that Cool Water vibe (90's goodies with warm amber background) but VERY strong performance that it can be too strong for some.
Lol yeah it's NOTHING like Cool Water original. They maybe share a similar theme of something you'd wear on a sunny warm day by the beach, but they smell nothing alike. CW Intense opens with a strong, sweet, almost vanilla like citrus scent. Shortly after that vailla wears down to a semi-synthetic coconut (think pina colada kind of coconut) and the citrus calms down a bit as the drier citrus notes come out. The amber underneath provides a great platform to host the sweet coconut citrus scent that would otherwise smell like a tiki stand. It's balanced, which is great because it's strong. 3 sprays will do you for the day. I don't get the longevity a lot of people mention, but it doesn't underperform any other fragrance I have. All in all this gives me a warm, inviting, sweet (but not sickly sweet) tropical beach kind of scent. A great addition to any collection suffering from overpowering citrus and smokey/tobacco/leather scents at every turn. Confident and sexy without being "manly man EDP for men". Also I think this would be fine as a unisex scent, though it leans a bit male in my opinion.
Batch 2021 Spl moderate.
only one word can describe this scent : Migraine
every time i use it, i always have a headache
Today I received Davidoff Cool Water Intense. I am very impressed, I adore the intoxicating aroma, he will write later how he passed the all-day test. Excellent price - quality
This fragrance has an opening weirdly comparable to a higher quality and sweeter to Lynx/Axe - Africa. The dry down is a pleasant synthetic green/sweet scent. Amazing quality for the price with decent silage. 7.4/10
This may be one of my favorite modern designers fragrances. The coconut is very prominent throughout its life which gives it a nice sweetness, which is mellowed down by the amber. In terms of longevity I only get about 4.5 hours and projection is subtle, but you can always reapply throughout the day. I actually like it more than the original. Highly recommend if you're into sweet fragrances. If you don't you likely won't enjoy this one
This is an interesting scent. I somewhat get how this is compared to Eros. I would say it's about 50% Eros. The Amber comes shining through on this one and the coconut is in the background. Definitely a spring/summer scent. Wear it with confidence. It's definitely a pleaser. Similar to Montblanc Legend Spirit.
Pretty crazy to me how people say this smells like Versace Eros EDP.
The opening comes off as heavy and synthetic and tends to linger for a few minutes, the coconut doesn't seem dominant which is good but it is subtle enough to blend with the mandarin to make it a decent spring and summer scent.
Firstly this juice is very strong and very long lasting so be careful not to overspray. 2 sprays last literally last +12 easily on skin or clothes. I have yet to come across a fragrance that is as strong as Davidoff Cool Intense. I mean wow. It radiates throughout the life the of fragrances.
The coconut is very pronounced and out there. The fragrance is very linear and after a while it gets a bit boring because it does not transform in the middle or in the dry down. Its a straight linear constant smell that doesn't go away. This is fragrance is totally different to the original water. As a flanker the is no relation whatsoever to the original. The original was also a linear fragrance and it classic.
Cool water intense is not a bad fragrance however as an advance fragrance lover, i don't see myself wearing this everyday. The coconut is too overpowering and starts to irritate me after a while.
Performance, longevity and silage are amazing. +12hrs easily.
This is not that great. The coconut kinda ruins it for me, it smells like some sunscreen or whatever. The ambroxan is hella powerful to the point of smelling very synthetic and cheap. The combination of coconut and ambroxan just doesn't do it for me.
Although if you do like the scent, the performance is amazing, they're not fucking around with the word "Intense", although I wish it was the right kind of intense for me.
You must try it first before you buy it, some people do like coconut in fragrances and that might be you.
5.5/10 (mostly for the beast performance)
Are the ingredients top notch? No. Is it synthetic ASF? Yes. Now the real 2 questions does it smell good and long lasting? Yes and Yes.
Eros? Invictus? Rochas L'Homme?
Guys, i have/had those fragrances and they share no similarities to each other neither with this one. It's a weird mandarin with sweet amber. Super longlasting. Kinda unique but simple composition. Good value for the money
Yesterday i went to sephora and i randomly tried it, i was expecting a similar scent to the original Cool Water but no, it's totally different. In the first blast this immediatly reminded me of Guess 1981 Los Angeles (a similar fragrance to Eros). So, while I was in sephora i compared Eros and Cool Water Intense side by side and yes, they share a lot of similarities!
In the first hour this basically smell like a fresher Eros without apple and with a ton of ambroxan added, then it becomes a little bit different but it always have that unmistakable Eros dna with a summery vibe, i don't know how people say they don't smell similar. By the way, in the listed notes there is coconut i but i didn't pick up any of it.
Performances? it's a longevity beast, it lasted for almost 12 hours easily on my skin with loud projection.
In my opinion it's blind buy worthy, it's dirty cheap and if you want an Eros with summer vibes, just pick it.
8,5/10
The coconut in this kills it for me. It’s a personal thing, coconut always smells cheap and synthetic to me. But if you like smelling like fresh nut then this is for you.
blind buy this one, after reading many reviews and you tube reviews i thought , go for it ,its only £25 for 75 ml bottle, never bothered with davidoff before, but price was the main factor buying it, i was worried that this would be just plain awful sweet sickly scent, but arrived today, first few sprays well it dont seem that overpowering, did smell mandarin , but to me its is just like montblanc legend spirit after half hour or so, had a few compliments for that so lets see with this, its ok not great but not bad see how i feel after a week or so wearing this and it will be everyday i wear it....................update had first compliment with this 2 days after writing original post .... so far so good
Very nice for summer as it starts cirusy with a hint of green (imo) and after some time gets this very creamy coconut note mixed with amber. It's also really cheap so it's a no-brainer. Have a great day! :)
I admittedly did not like Eros on my skin. On paper? It was ok but nothing phenomenal so I sold it (but I'm also older & not into anything with "Club" vibes). Cool Water Intense was a blind buy & though I can see similarities between it & Eros, I would not consider them related/in the same vein.
Cool Water Intense starts off slightly citrus-y but the 2 notes that I get almost immediately (and the latter I only picked up today while outside) is a gorgeous coconut water/nectar (yes, almost like sunscreen-ish) and a super refreshing, very sweet mint, almost like a stick of Spearmint/Double Mint gum (like from my childhood). The citrus disappears fairly quickly, then the mint fades, and those are replaced by a very nice & warm amber/musk combination, the end result being coconut/ander/musk.
This stuff also lasts forever, but I don't find it to project much. Outside with a good wind blowing, that's when I'd recommend this one the most (and that's how I caught that Double Mint gum-type note today was from the wind wafting it around me).
In the end, $20CAD for this 75ml bottle is such an incredibly insane price for this one. I guess we're very lucky for Davidoff being a name that often gets discounted hard & fast (with the exception of a couple of their limited run/collector type fragrances, none of which I can remember the name because spending $100CAD on a bottle of Davidoff doesn't sound nor feel right).
I'm not picking up on the coconut but instead I get a sweet amber bomb. If you like sweet scents then give this a try. Similar to Versace Eros Eau de Parfum but this is a better value and smells better to me. This can also be unisex.
Somehow interesting in the beginning, references to the original and then Menardo’s signature musky animalism, you can smell the same in Bvlgari Black. After the first 10 min it explodes in pieces and goes down the most predictable, trivial road you can possibly imagine..
To be clear this has nothing to do with og. Cool Water. It's fine fragrance but a specific one. In the first hour or so you smell sour mandarin with coconuty backround. After that it's the opposite dominant coconuty amber with mandarin backround. Stong projection and longevity, but not worthy of blind buy.

Good scent but don’t expect high quality ingredients .. sorry it smells ok to my nose
I had to sell my bottle after using as air sprayer .. another lesson not to rely on youtube reviews.
6 out of 10
Picked this up after reading almost all positive reviews. For me this is a like, but not a love. For the first hour and a half, it is an awesome sweet creamy orange coconut scent that is projecting like a monster (stopped for coffee and filled the entire store). After that, for me it turns to a very sweet powdery amber that just never goes away...and keeps pushing. Like most, I am always on the hunt for performance beasts but with Intense, I would be happy if it was a 5-6 hour fragrance. The powdery sweetness starts to annoy me at this point and I just want it gone but cannot get away from it without a shower. That said, on my skin this stuff nuclear and it does get compliments. This is definitely not something I will be wearing in the middle of the summer in high heat/humidity. Those of you who are looking for this type of performance and enjoy the scent profile cannot go wrong with $27 for a 1.7 oz. bottle.
I'm quite anosmic to this fragrance. To my nose it is an abstract or conceptual "blue". I can smell the notes with my nose on skin but 4 inches from the skin, I smell almost nothing. Rather, there is a strong sensation that I am being hit by blue light. Perhaps my nose will learn to perceive this. I will say my nose NEVER learned to smell Bleu de Chanel very well.
Cool Water Intense is a black-light feeling and lasts for hours and hours. Definition of ambroxan bomb. This is a base perfume - let your imagination run wild.
Bought a 75 ml bottle last year, will buy again once my current one is empty.
10/10 Frag. A must own.
Just got this. CW Intense is nothing at all like CW.
It's a sweet fruity and vanilla like perfume with a coconut vibe. The whole impression is that it's tropical and pleasant.
It starts off with the mandarin and later progresses into a coconut and a touch of vanilla. The dry down is a white musk note with mandarin, also a Sauvage note in there.
This reminds me of CK One Summer 2014.
This is fresh too.
Longevity and projection are both very good. I like this a lot, it has a nice character.
I love it! Fresh and sweet combo
In drydown, it is very much similar to Eros Edp version.
It has amazing longevity with decent inoffensive projection... 2 to 3 sprays do the job....
Besides, it's a swiss-knife kinda frag.... can be worn for all occasions....
Longevity: 10/10
Sillage: 8/10
Projection: 8/10
Price-value proposition: 12/10
First impression: coconutty. Familiar yet not able to put my finger on it.
I do not really see it as a "Eros alternative", there is no apple here. This is more like Gaultiers Le Beau or Kenzo homme night. I do also get some Bisch vibes leading my mind to 1million perfume. This is dark and powdery along the lines of Uomo Salvatore Ferragamo.
I would perhaps have liked it fresher as the name suggest "cool water". This is "warm coconut cocktail".
A mix of all the last years big hits. A bit of Eros, a bit of One Million a bit of Dylan Blue, BDC and god knows what. Rochas man?
Good performance and very strong.
A good value frag and I bet many would like it.
I’m not really a huge fan of Davidoff Cool Water, but this one…DAMN!
This smells quite amazing! Nothing like Davidoff cool water. It is not a flanker of that. I definitely detect all of the notes listed. It lasts all day, which I love and projects quite strongly the first 4-5 hours. It’s been nearly 12 hours and I can still smell it.
Verdict:
Scent: 8-9/10
Longevity: 10/10
Silage: 8/10
Value: 10/10 (seriously, this cheap and THIS good?)
Btw, I do see the similarities to Rochas L’homme since I own that one too, but I would say that DCWI is a bit sweeter (whereas RL is more balsamic) and DCWI lasts waaaay longer. If you had to choose between them two, I personally would go for Davidoff cool water intense. Great cheapie, but doesn’t smell cheap.
Just got it today it kinda does smell like axe body spray I think I’m gonna return it back to fragrancex mine doesn’t seem to perform and the smell isn’t that great I have way better blue frags Hunter intense edp blows this out of the water.
Medicine opening with an Eros vibe
Dry down smells like playboy New York
rating 5/10 (imo)
If you want a good bubblegum summer aquatic get Invictus intense
The first time I've tried this perfume it was kind of strange. I didnt know if i like it or not. After a couple of days i decided to apply it again and damn this time it was a beast. I was intentionally moving just to smell this perfume - i simply loved it. My gf said its nothing special but its a really nice scent. In my opinion its an excellent fragrance for summer days.
Gotta just quote samuelpeterson below:
"literal bubblegum. not "bubblegummy", but actual bubblegum. the pink one"
It's not a bad gfragrance, but the top notes immediately bring you to a stick of powdered, saccharine-filled pink bubblegum. Even as the strength and shock of that top notes dries down to let the full blend come through, you'll never get the bubblegum out of your nose, so it's not even worth describing what else is going on here.
Finally it's eau de parfum concentration i love the coconut, citrus, amber perfect for summer.
Longevity: 10hr+
Projection: 4hr+ (6ft away)
Seasons: Summer , Spring , Summer Night.
This stuff is so good! I really can’t believe how good this is for how cheap it is. I smell amber the most in the composition. You do smell them all, the coconut, the mandarin and the amber. It’s great!
Strong projection for 1-2 hrs, lasting good 7-8 hrs.
Intense is the right name for the scent.
Not much from original.
On it's own a very pleasant smell. Strong like but not love.
mandarin bubblegum open followed with a fresh open nut of coconut water. Then leave a very pleasant and solid amber watered with coconut water who last many hours.
sweet and smooth but fresh and clean, never sugary, manly, can fit that tropical style (but not a tropical cocktail like virgin island water) more like a quality shower gel in the cool water mentality
I didn't have much expectations for this one but found a 75ml for about $15 and thought "why not".
Upon first spray this was a positive surprise.
It smells like it could be a flanker to Versace Eros, or maybe something they came up with while trying to complete Eros. It's like a simplified Eros with less notes but beast performance.
Got this and Dylan Blue at the same time and I definitely prefer this one more, better smell and better performance.
Versace Eros Edt got itself here a younger brother. Very very smells alike.
It's a 10/10 overall rating
Just received this one.
Really really happy for this blind buy.
First thing, it smells GOOD. I don't get Eros vibes, neither Le Beau vibes. It's doin' it's own thing.
Masculine fresh opening, with a hint of coconut and amber. In the mid the coconut really changing the game and the amber pushes really strong from behind.
The coconut feeling stays until the fragrance fades away.
Performance-wise this is a nuclear bomb.
Longevity is about 8-10 hours which is good of course, but not out of this world.
But the projection.... The projection is one of the strongest i ever saw on a designer fragrance. I think it projects more than Sauvage EDT which is considered to be one of the strongest projecting designer fragrances.
Price? 30euros for 125ml. So 10/10 here.
Not a big fan of Cool Water EDT, but this one is something else.
I'm totally gonna rock it on "white t-shirt summer nights"
One of the best, if not the best, blind buy i ever had.
I don’t like the original Cool Water at all because I’m not into aquatic fragrances. But some flankers (Summer Fizz, Caribbean Summer) are very nice and affordable. I use those for the refreshing easy grabs. This one got my attention because of the reputation of perfumer Annick Menardo, the good reviews and the simple notes. I like the smell of fresh mandarin and coconut so I bought the 125 bottle for under 30 Euro’s, what could go wrong? A lot apparently when I smelled this one after the first spray. The opening is strange but pleasant with a very sweet mandarin smell that is not familiar to me. There isn’t any coconut to discover or it must be hidden in that almost cloying sweet amber that pops up after fifteen minutes. It’s absolutely not refreshing at all and I can imagine that Cool Water lovers are immensely disappointed with this Intense version. It has nothing to do with the original. This one could also deliver a nasty headache because of the heavy synthetic amber (ambroxan). The performance is almost beastly specially on clothes. The smell stays until the next few days. What did Annick Menardot and the brand Davidoff tried to accomplish with this version is a riddle to me. Yes, Batmans The Riddler could wear this because this one can knock you out with that heavy synthetic spicy amber axe. I will give this a few tries the coming weeks but I doubt it very much that I’m gonna like this one.
Edit 7-5-22: Beginning to like this. After a couple of months this perfume macerates and becomes softer. Beginning to like the sweet mandarin and the creamy synthetic coconut. Still heavy on the ambroxin but not as irritating after the first opening. Nice in the cooler spring evening. For under 30 Euro's not bad at all and rather unique. But that amber.........
It doesn't smell like Guess LA,but there is slight similarity to Eros(minty vanilla) on dry down. But slightly and it goes away.
I got CW intense couple days ago. Must say,i love it. It's super pleasant, not so sweet what people are telling. Little freshness underneath mild sweet blue type of scent. I wass totally surprised, positively. Great balance. Good/great performance. You could get noseblind to it. Jump of the skin nicely and makes super pleasing scent bubble around the wearer. 3/4 season stuff,it could be cloying in hot summer days,i think. Totally back up bottle worthy. Great great juice🔥💪👌
I think it smells great straight from the bottle, the way its meant to smell, thus i spray on clothes. When placed on skin it goes all soft smooth fruity, like a fruity cloud of cotton or soft laundry detergent similar to Wings For Men.
