As Old Brooklyn plants trees, solidarity takes root

CLEVELAND, Ohio – For many years, local painter Eileen Dorsey specialized in oil-on-canvas treescapes with eye-popping color. But only recently, with the help of her Old Brooklyn community, did she fully appreciate what trees offer in real life.

Three years ago, a violent storm ripped away several branches in Dorsey’s backyard, threatening her privacy. Troubled, she searched the internet for help and discovered a service close to home.
