Parents of German schoolchildren are increasingly reporting that their children want to convert to Islam due to fear of bullying from classmates, writes the German publication Bild.
“More and more parents of German children are seeking advice because Christian children want to convert [to Islam] so as not to be outsiders at school,” the publication quotes an anonymous source from one of the services responsible for state security in Germany. The number of children of migrants from Muslim backgrounds countries, including Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq, has increased sharply in German schools in recent years, so students professing Christianity often find themselves in the minority,” explained the publication’s source from the German intelligence services.
He added that the phenomenon of “group coercion” often arises in classrooms, when for schoolchildren compliance with Islamic moral standards “turns out to be desirable.”
