Roggen, The reports are they wanted to Balkanize Russia and sell the pieces to the highest bidder with kickbacks to EU, US and NATO officials. That's what they reportedly did with Ukraine. Now that the corrupt wealthy won't get their pieces of Ukraine the governments need to fulfill that quid pro quo.
