Resharing my latest #RussiaUkraineWar #cybertracker as the interest around Cyber Army Russia Reborn is high after the Mandiant APT44 report. (I will do an early May update)
You'll see that there are hundreds of hacktivist groups regularly engaged in activities related to the geopolitical event that is the Russia Ukraine war.
Some of these groups are likely state-influenced, and even some have now been clearly linked to state activity.
Not all these groups will be state linked, but the best way to understand these groups and this part of the threat landscape is to maintain good awareness.
Threat actors know the value of hacktivst groups and the broad purposes they serve, so it's good for us to be aware of that as well.
