Since the bootloader could not be started with legacy BIOS, we recommend using it in a UEFI environment.

Creating a startup disk

Specify the file to download on the official website and click "Download Now" to move to Sourceforge and start downloading the ISO file.

If the CPU of the computer on which PrimeOS will be installed is 32-bit, select Android 7 Classic .

Write the downloaded PrimeOS ISO file to a USB memory using Rufus to create a startup disk.

A USB memory of 2GB or more is required.

Clean installation of PrimeOS

Insert the created USB memory into your computer, call up the Boot menu or BIOS/UEFI , and boot from the PrimeOS USB memory.

UEFI: (USB memory name) Select Partition1 to boot in UFEI mode.

Wireless keyboards and mice may not work, so a wired mouse and keyboard is recommended.

When the installer starts, select PRIMEOS 2.1.3 Installation .

Auto installation in Advanced options cannot be used because the bootloader is not installed correctly.

Once the drive is recognized, select Create/Modify partitions .

If the drive selection screen appears, specify the drive where PrimeOS will be installed.

If the drive is unformatted, you will be asked if you want to use GPT , so select Yes , and then press any key when the next screen displays Warning! Non-GPT or damage disk detected!.

On the Installer source screen, select the drive where you want to install PrimeOS.

cgdisk will start and Free Space will be selected for unused drives , so select New to create a partition for the bootloader.

For drives where partitions have been created, select each partition and delete it using "Delete" to create one Free Space.

When using a drive with MBR partition management , cfdisk starts instead of cgdisk .

First sector uses the default value, so press Enter if it is not entered .

In cfdisk , an item to select the partition type is displayed, so specify Primary .

Enter 512M for Size in sectors or {KMGTP} and press Enter .

cfdisk displays Size (inMB) , so after entering the value, select Beginning , and set the boot loader partition to Bootable and add the Boot flag.

Type will use the default setting Linux filesystem , so leave it blank and press Enter .

There are no input items for Type or partition name in cfdisk .

Enter the partition name and press Enter .

There is no problem if the partition name is not entered, but EFI is used to make it easier to understand.

After creating a partition for the bootloader, select a large free space where you want to install PrimeOS and click New .

cfdisk では Bootable のフラッグ追加後、PrimeOSをインストールするドライブを選択し、New → Primary → Writre で「yes」と入力して反映し、Quite で終了。

First sector と Size in sectors or {KMGTP} はデフォルト値を使用するので未入力で Enter キー。

Type もデフォルト設定の Linux filesystem を使用するので未入力で Enter キー。

任意のパーティション名を入力して Enter キー。

ブートローダー用のパーティションと PrimeOS用のパーティションを作成したら Writre で設定を反映。

Are you sure you want to write the partition table to disk? と訊いてくるので yes と入力して Enter キーで実行後、Quite で cgdisk を終了。

PrimeOSをインストールするパーティションを選択して OK 。

フォーマットは ext4 を選択。

データ消去に関するダイアログが表示されるので Yes を選択して Enter キー。

ブートローダー（GRUB2）のインストールは Yes を選択して Enter キー。

ブートローダーをインストールするドライブをフォーマットするので Yes を選択して Enter キー。

Reboot を選択して OK で再起動し、USBメモリを外す。

正常にインストールできていればブートローダーが開き、自動的に PrimeOSが起動する。

PrimeOS のセットアップ

PrimeOSが起動してウエルカム画面が表示されたら「Proceed」をクリック。

ユーザー名を入力し、タイムゾーンを Asia/Tokyo に設定。

使用許諾書に問題なければ「Accept」。

セットアップが開始。

デスクトップが表示されたら PrimeOSが利用可能になる。

言語設定

「Apps」ボタンから Settings を開く。

マウスのスクロールボタンを上に回すと画面が下にスクロールする。

System から Languages & input を開いて Add a language で 日本語 を追加。

右端のアイコンをドラッグして日本語を先頭に移動し、メイン言語に設定。

日本語 IME設定

Google Playストア から Gboard をインストールする。

Googleアカウントにログインすると Pixel2 としてアクティブティが検出される。

Mozcは相性が悪いらしく動作が不安定なので非推奨。

Gboard を起動して「ENABLE IN SETTINGS」で Gboard を有効にし、ダイアログが表示されたら「OK」。

左上の戻るボタンでセットアップに戻り、「SELECT INPUT METHOD」で Gboard を選択。

再度 Gboard を開き、物理キーボード から システムの物理キーボード設定 で認識されている物理キーボードを選択。

ダイアログが表示されるので「キーボードレイアウトの設定」で 日本語 109A配列 を選択。

キーボードレイアウトが日本語 109A配列になっていることを確認して設定画面を閉じる。

カナ漢と英数は Shift + Space キーで切り替える。

キーボードの半角/全角キーでは切り替えできない。
