Mega Man X, on the other hand, looks pretty damn good...
Well, so they're coming up short on ideas for robot masters. Still the
overall layout looks good. Of course, having a "bad guy not Dr. Wily" is
getting kind of old (MM4 - Dr. Cossack, MM5 - Protoman, MM6 - Dr. X) By
the way, what's a Yamato?? Anyway, I have MM4 and MM5 and I think they're
great. In fact, MM5 is my favorite and not just because it's the newest.
The play control is just right plus you get Rush and Beat and the mega
buster. As for Mega Man X, I think it may (this means possibly) be a
letdown. It seems like the game style is going to change a bit and that
could spell disaster for this game. Mega Man is so popular because the
style, though it's repeated in every game, is great. Of course, I balk at
the fact that a Mega Man SNES game won't sell, but I'm not sure what the
quality will be like until I get it.

I don't remember much about Mega Man 6, but it's supposedly a MAJOR REHASH.
They've got characters like Wind Man and Flame Man, and a good number of them
either look like previous robots or have weapons like previous robots. On
a happier note, it's supposed to be only $40, I think ...

And Mega Man 3 was shoddy and rushed, with moments that the game passed by
too fast and you missed music or whatever ... but we've been over this argument
before ... :)

I don't think changing the format will be disasterous for the game. On
the contrary, it may be a little refreshing ... after ten (if you include
the Game Boy versions) Mega Man games with the same basic set-up, I need
something different ... there's only so many times you can save the world
in the same way before you fall asleep ...

Everyone that I know that has played it says its everything you want Mega
Man to be. Its the best ever and blows away the NES versions and is far
from a let down. I get my copy on Monday so I'll give a full review then.
