Yoshinori x F:NEX "Japanese Doll Figures" 13th edition is twin zashiki warashi "Ichiko" and "Niko"
From the TV anime "Hozuki no Reitetsu", "Ichiko" and "Futako" have been made into 1/4 scale figures as part of the "Japanese Doll Series", a collaboration product with Yoshinori, a long-established doll manufacturer.
For figures and Japanese dolls, “the face is the life”
The two of them together created a cute expression that was looking at us with bright eyes.
Hair like a checkered doll
The hair was made by Hiroshi Soyokuta, head master of the Daisei Doll, located in Iwatsuki Ward, Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture, which is also known as the town of dolls. Insert a bundle of thread into the pre-drilled hole, spread it out to cover the head, and cut it to style your hair.
Using the same technique as traditional checkered dolls, we have created two cute bobbed hair styles.
It is said that in the mid-Edo period of the 18th century, the portrait doll of the handsome Kabuki actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu I became popular, and from then on, this doll became the generic name. Pet dolls that look like children are called Ichimatsu dolls, and in the Kansai region they are also called Ichima-san. In addition, in the Edo period, dolls were so popular that people immediately referred to them, and they ranged from inexpensive toys for girls to luxury items that were cherished by wealthy adult women, including luxurious clothing.
Born in 1967 in Iwatsuki City, Saitama Prefecture (currently Iwatsuki Ward, Saitama City).
In 1988, he began making heads and honed his skills under his father Mineyama I, who studied under the puppet maker Jinichi Yasuo.
In 2009, he was certified as a traditional craftsman in the Iwatsuki doll head category designated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
In the same year, he was selected for the 49th East Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and the 56th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition.
The following year, in 2010, he was selected for the 50th East Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition.
While preserving tradition, he creates original faces for Hina dolls and Ichimatsu dolls that are acceptable in modern times.
Wearing a kimono with a meaning of “wishing for future growth”
The costume prototype was created by Koji Saito, a doll craftsman at Kobo Tensho, located in the doll town of Iwatsuki Ward, Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture. The cute and childlike visuals of the two were dressed up using traditional "Ichimatsu doll" techniques.
The ``waist up'' part can be said to be a characteristic of childish clothing. This is made to be longer in anticipation of the child's growth, and carries the meaning of ``wishing for the child's future growth.''
The obijime part is shaped like a small tassel by loosening the end of the string. The obiage part is made from a dyed fabric called Kanoko Shibori that has a white pattern resembling the back of a baby deer, giving the image of a cute child.
The bright vermilion obi is made from gold brocade fabric sourced from Bando Shoten, a representative textile merchant in Kyoto, and while it looks gorgeous, it faithfully depicts the cute obi knot in the original work.
Born in 1935 in Saitama Prefecture.
When he was 20 years old, he studied under the late Goro Mizuyasu and entered the doll industry.
Established independently in 1966 in the doll town of Iwatsuki, Saitama City.
In 2001, he was certified as a Saitama Prefecture Traditional Craftsman.
He is currently certified as a Traditional Craftsman designated by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.
He has received numerous awards including the Prime Minister's Award, the Minister of International Trade and Industry Award, and the Minister of Education's Award.
Since its founding in 1947, Bando Shoten has been a manufacturer and wholesaler specializing in gold brocades.
We continue to provide products that meet the needs of the times, mainly for dolls, costumes, and small bags.
We deliver materials from Nishijin, Kyoto that enable new collaborations that transcend genres.
Tsumami hair ornament
The flower hair ornament is made by Tsumamizaiku Ichirindo. While following the image of the flower decorations worn by the two in the original work, we adopted the ``double pinch'' technique, making the inside of the flower petals made of crepe and covering the outside with silk. By making the flower core shine golden and combining two different types of fabric, we created a cute yet luxurious finish.
runs full-fledged tsumami-zaiku courses with the aim of correctly transmitting the culture of "Edo Tsumami-Kanzashi", a traditional craft designated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, to future generations.
We also sell tsumami-zaiku hair ornaments, accessories, ornaments, and specialized tools and materials.
With the philosophy of "making tsumami-zaiku a major culture," he is working to popularize tsumami-zaiku not only in Japan but also overseas, such as Vietnam and Italy.
