Forum: general Subject: Wayback Machine search doesn't work with "?"

Hello,

it seems like the URL search does not work with the letter "?" - why not? Example:

The search query under this link returns the first 10000 archived "youtube.com/watch" pages:
https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://youtube.com/watch*

The search query under this link should also return such a list, but it does not, even though almost all of "youtube.com/watch" pages continue with "youtube.com/watch?v=":
https://web.archive.org/web/20240000000000*/http://youtube.com/watch?v=*

I am just using Youtube as an example, I want to search a different page, but the problem is the same. The website stops doing its job once a "?" comes into play.

Any possibility to fix/circumvent that?

Forum: general Subject: Try youtube.com/embed

As far as I can remember, what you described worked until around 2020. Now, what you can do is searching for a non-query-string URL like youtube.com/embed/example* . Or you can try prefix-searching the URL in Archive.Today, where query string prefixes work.
