クロノアクロニクル　第１９回！ 今回も登場人物のなまえについての裏話のつづきを。

Klonoa Chronicles #19! We continue the story behind the characters names.

悪役のガディウスは「ラディア戦記」ではガディスと言いますが、これも元を正せば「スーパースターフォース」（というより「スターフォース」）のボスのゴーデスを言い換えたもので、ずっと継承しているものなんですけど気付いた人いますかね？

The villain Ghadius is called Gadiss in Radia Senki, which is also a paraphrase of the boss Gordess from Super Star Force (or rather Star Force), and has been inherited for a long time, has anyone noticed?

後、クロノア２に出てくるレオリナもラディア戦記に出てくる水の巫女の名前だったりします。 スタッフのみんなに名前が浸透した頃に、種明かしをしたら、え～～ってなってましたが、こんなささやかな企みも開発者の密かな楽しみだと思って許してください。

The name Leorina in Klonoa 2 is also the name of a water maiden in Radia Senki. When I revealed the name of the game to the staff when it was already well known to them, they went a bit crazy, but I hope you’ll forgive me for thinking that this little scheme is a secret pastime of the developers.

そして肝心の主人公の名前は当時シャディと呼ばれていました。 これは主人公がプレイヤーの分身だという意味で、プレイヤーの影（シャドウ）だということから付いた名前です。

The main character’s name at the time was Shady, meaning that he was the player’s alter ego, or shadow.

そろそろタイトルも決めなければいけないので、主人公の名前のアイデア出しを私の企画チーム内で行ないました。するとある人がこう言ったのです。 「体が黒いからクロノワールや。ノワールはフランス語で黒やから、黒黒や」

It was time to decide on a title, so I asked my planning team to come up with a name for the main character. Then one of them said “Kuronoire, because his body is black.” Noir is French for black and kuro is black in Japanese.

その瞬間、クロノアって言葉が頭を駆け巡りました。 「それがいい！　それにしよ！　クロノア、クロノア」 提案された名前とは違うって？　インスピレーションですよ。語呂というか。 つづく

At that moment, the word “Kuronoa” ran through my head. “That’s the one! Let’s go with that! Kuronoa, Klonoa.” What do you mean, that’s not the name that was suggested? It was inspiration. It’s just a word. To be continued.
