national Peng Hui has been arrested for stealing S$107K (US$80K) in cash from a passenger on board flight SQ899 from Hong Kong to Singapore on Tue Mar 5.
The passenger discovered that the cash was missing from his bag after he disembarked at Changi Airport.
Singaporean authorities found that Peng made four remittance transactions amounting to S$37,897.70, believed to be part of the stolen cash, at People’s Park Complex in Chinatown. The police halted the transactions and arrested Peng, who was found to be in possession of cash amounting to S$79,662.83 in multiple denominations and currencies. The cash was seized by the police.

Peng told the court on Thu Mar 7 that he would not plead guilty.
