Will Facebook, YouTube, Telegram, Signal, etc, be banned in Hong Kong under Article 23
Mar 6: Legislative Council Panel on Security, Panel on Administration of Justice & Legal Services and Subcommittee to Study Matters Relating to Basic Law Article 23 Legislation Joint Meeting
Some outrageous suggestions (page 100 of Annex 2 of the meeting report)
Anyone who enters Hong Kong as a temporary or permanent resident must take an oath to love the Motherland and Hong Kong and support Article 23 of the HKNSL (sic) of the HKSAR Government.
It is suggested that websites such as Facebook and Youtube should be removed from the Hong Kong market.
Telegram, Signal and some encryption communication software have become a hotbed of crime, which have been utilised by offenders for coordination of activities, dissemination of seditious information and so forth. The use of such communication software in Hong Kong should be banned under Article 23.
