Chili powder tainted with carcinogenic dye Sudan III (蘇丹紅) had been distributed to six different businesses including popular hot pot chain 
Haidilao (海底撈), which used the chili powder for its "spicy duck blood” that was sent to 16 branches across Taiwan.
Food importer / distributor Bao Hsin Enterprises imported the chili powder from Henan-based Sanhe Drug Co (三禾药业). Bao Hsin Enterprises will be fined NT$2 million (US$63,335) for failure to immediately inform downstream companies to initiate a product recall.
