Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Season 2” improves on the few issues of the first season, resulting in one of the best series of the year so far. Rated: 7.5 •  Aug 13, 2023 Full Review David Hogan hoganreviews.co.uk The second and seemingly final season continued the trend of great character development, fun mobile suit battles and interesting politics, all with great animation and a dramatic OST. Hard to find much fault, beyond some storylines feeling rushed... Rated: 5/5 •  Jul 11, 2023 Full Review Kyle Foley But Why Tho? Miriam G Gundam: Witch From Mercury is a brand new entry in Gundam multiverse, by the creator of the incredible Code Geass. And it is another flop. Witch From Mercury takes place in a new timeline, where Colonists have the upper hand and Earth has lost. But the main antagonists are not generals or emperors, but... Companies. One company discovers a Gundarm, a secret weapon and tries to use it against the other Companies. But let us forget all of this and switch the entire show to a space high school for Mobile Suit pilots, who fight for a tournament and marriage rights! The first season was so boring to watch, between the second and the penultimate episode, that you can even skip 10 episodes and lose nothing. It has a promising cliffhanger, out of nowhere and...then Season 2 happens, which tries to make up for the crappy first season. And fails miserably. Even the stellar animation and the production can not ultimately make up for the messy story and the finale is fully rushed. Personally, after I've watched every Gundam (except AGE), Witch is by far one of the bottom 5 Gundam anime series. It is forgettable, boring and another fail attempt by Ichiro Okouchi in mecha genre, after the incredibly bad Code Geass alternate sequels. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/25/23 Full Review Gojo I Gundam but injected with high school drama Some episodes are good and you feel like you are watching a traditional high stake gundam show, but those are few and far in between. If you are into high school drama mixed with mecha then this is your show, if you more of a traditional gundam fan who likes war stories then i don't think will be the show to watch, this leans toward economics more then war. Not worth your time if you are more than 15 years old, in reality o mentally. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/25/23 Full Review Ichigo K 1 Episode of Gundam, 11 episodes of teen drama The setting? Wack. The supporting cast? Wack. The plot pacing? Wack. The Gundam fights? Pretty decent, if you just want to watch the mechs blow up and don't care much about the circumstances you may enjoy this. Don't be fooled by the "It is an entry point" reviews.... that is not an excuse for a low quality show. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/24/23 Full Review Badre B Second season feels rushed compared to the first season therefore a lot of concepts were left underdeveloped, likely due to the fact the entire series only had 24 episodes. Despite that, the series overall is still good and works as an entry point for new fans into Gundam. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/20/23 Full Review Sad N It's ok the ending it's a bit rushed and there is Soo Many Plot holes that doesn't get answered like what is the big deal with Space Assembly League anyway they only exist for two episodes and that's it no more colony laser also miorine's mother identity and deling rembran True intentions of using Quiet Zero is still unknown it doesn't amaze me, Unicorn's ending is a lot better than what they trying to Copy tbh. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/18/23 Full Review Don G Basically Utena with space robots, but replace the cryptic symbolism with politics. And it doesn't even commit to the themes it sets up at the start. Just go watch Utena instead. It's dated, it doesn't look as good as this, but the depth of the plot is so satisfying unlike this... thing.
