Today marks three years since Magdalen Berns died, far too young, at the age of 36.
She stood up bravely against the erasure and coercion of lesbians, and was a fiercely inspirational voice to so many.
She is sadly missed.

Jenny’s regular social event has been targeted by those who believe lesbians must not be allowed to gather together. We’re seeking answers from Stonegate - the owners of the venue that has banned her events - and we’re supporting her to fight this injustice.

We are appalled by ’s executive order erasing the sex-based rights of women and girls. It deals a severe blow to women and girls in sport, prisons, rape shelters, hospitals etc and bans lesbians and gays from having our own spaces. We will help our US friends to oppose it.

We are appalled by the news that Fred Sargeant - Stonewall veteran and co-founder of Pride - has been beaten and robbed at Burlington Pride, by attendees who take for granted the rights he fought for decades ago.
We send love and solidarity to Fred and wish him a swift recovery.

Magdalen Berns was born on this day in 1983.
A lesbian, radical feminist, and inspiration to so many, she was fearless in her criticism of gender identity ideology and helped to co-found the campaigning organisation
She sadly died from a brain tumour in 2019.
We are appalled to see a violent mob attack as she tries to speak about women’s rights. It demonstrates a lack of respect for freedom of expression, a misrepresentation of sex-based rights, and a dangerous lack of political leadership.

We recommend everyone read Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s essay and form their own opinion about it. At LGB Alliance we consider it a beautiful, nuanced essay, full of important insights & not at all “transphobic”, a word that in our view has been drained of significance by overuse.
