In case you were wondering, none of us were going to hyper-Christian web designers to make our wedding websites But what happens when all the gay creatives decide they don’t do Christian design anymore? Christians turned away from architects, designers, stylists, etc.

Today a friend’s five year old son was watching another friend put on makeup. He asked if she would put the sparkly blue eyeshadow on him. His mom overhead and firmly said, “do you know the rule about makeup…” My heart sank.

It was a small moment in the day, but so meaningful to see a kid be free to be himself and be loved. For so long, moments like this have been full of shame and self-esteem consequences. In so many places, things are moving in the right direction.

Puberty blockers (temporary, reversible) are more benign than going through a puberty that can’t be undone. If you can’t see that, then you really need to reflect on your biases and whether you consider #trans people *at all* when you form your opinions.

If gender identity were purely a result of social environments, trans kids who are constantly pushed to be gender conforming (ie most of them) would not still be trans. And yet we have over 1 million openly trans people in the US alone.

I’m a child psychiatrist. Trans kids playing sports is not the reason we’re seeing high rates of suicidality among youth. In fact, most kids couldn’t care less.

Maybe a gay architect thinks Christian homes are against his deeply held beliefs because he believes they promote unethical homophobia and harm children, so he refuses to design homes for Christian families.
