Happy #LeapDay! We get a whole extra day!
But why?
We say it takes 365 days for Earth to orbit the Sun, but it’s more like 365.25 (where 1 day = 1 rotation of Earth on its axis). To make up the time, we add a day about every 4 years. go.nasa.gov/49Pg1jF
