This whole 'Chinese' vs. 'Western' dragon discourse somehow completely forgets that 龍 long has also been the Chinese Buddhist translation of Sanskrit nāga नाग, and longwang 龍王 (dragon king) that of nāgarāja नागराज for 1,500 years or so...

Ppl are saying that Chinese dragons, long 龍, have no wings, in contrast to Western dragons. But there are also winged varieties of Chinese dragons, called yinqlong 應龍 or hwanglong 黃龍!
