Idea - An installer/setup wizard for Scares Scrambler on Windows #4
Comments
Yeah, that might be a good idea! I haven't touched this project for quite some time as other projects have been more pressing (also this thing's codebase is nasty), but I've done installers for Python projects before so I could definitely add that. When I get back to working on this again, I can look into adding a proper installer. Or, if you wanna make a pull request, I can test whatever installer you can hook up and see whether I like it enough to use it :)))) |
I can make an installer for the Scares Scrambler in Inno Setup. |
As someone who is very unorganized with files, I'd much rather Scares Scrambler have an installer/setup wizard, so it'll essentially be an app installed on the computer, and I won't have to deal with trying to find it in my downloads folder or whatever, if a setup wizard is created, I can just install Scares Scrambler and then I can access it from my start menu. I've created a setup wizard myself using Inno Setup 6, and I can upload the install wizard somewhere and link it here if wanted. Since it was created using Inno Setup 6, the setup won't launch if you're running a version of Windows earlier than Windows 7, however that's not a big deal because Scares Scrambler doesn't support anything earlier than 7 (I tried it on Vista, and got a dynamic link library error.), if really wanted though, I can use Inno 5, so it will at least display an "operating system not supported" error when trying to launch the setup on XP or Vista.
