Klonoa Chronicles #26

Klonoa Chronicles is a series of tweets by Klonoa’s original creator, Hideo Yoshizawa, that give insights into the development of the games he had a hand in making. Below is a translation along with the original Japanese text.

クロノアクロニクル　第２６回！ 先週のあらゐ君の絵コンテの続きをどうぞ！ 

Klonoa Chronicles #26! Here’s a continuation of last week’s storyboard by Mr. Arai! 

リングが落ちてくるシーンはあらゐ君がカットしてますね。 ここはあらゐ君が勘違いしていたのか、ここでレフィスが再生の歌を歌い始める事になっています。

Arai-kun cut the scene where the ring falls. Arai-kun misunderstood here, and Lephise is supposed to start singing the Song of Rebirth here.

この辺はちょっと演出が長過ぎます。本当は再生の歌はクロノアが去る前から始まっているのでこれでは歌が終わってしまいますから。

This area is a little too long to be staged. The Song of Rebirth really starts before Klonoa leaves, so this would have ended the song.

次々に自然が蘇っていきます。

One after another, nature is being restored.

この時点でもじっじが生き返っていますね。 

And Grandpa is revived.

ヒューポーが笑顔でつぶやいています。 「いつかボクも…キミの…ファントマイルに…」 うーん、やっぱりこのセリフはカットですね～。 エンディングで語り過ぎるのは好きじゃないんですよね。 

Huepow mutters with a smile, “Someday… I’ll be your Phantomile…” This line was cut, I didn’t want much talking during the ending.

最後に「for your Phantomile…」を入れたのはあらゐ君だったんですねぇ。 

It was Arai-kun who put “For your Phantomile…” at the end, wasn’t it?

というわけで、盛り上がりの頂点の余韻が消えないうちにスタッフクレジットに入るテンポがイメージだったので、最終版はここから大幅に整理されたものになっています。 贅肉が落ちてイメージ通りのテンポになったと思うのですが。 つづく

So, the tempo that I had envisioned going into the staff credits before the aftermath of the pinnacle of excitement was gone, and the final version has been greatly rearranged from this point on. I think the extravagance has been removed and the tempo is now as I imagined. To be continued.
