Kia ora everyone!
I hope everything is going well and you are enjoying some sun!
Find below the major updates relevant for clubs.
- Clubs Expo, Sem 1 – 2024
These will open this Tuesday 30st at 12.00 am and close on Feb 6th at 11.59pm.
Stalls will be allocated on a first-in, first-served basis for the City campus. Completing the application does not guarantee a stall – once all the spots are taken, we will create a waitlist and communicate accordingly. Grafton also has a limited number of stalls.
Stalls will be allocated into category areas such as sport, academic, and specialist, religious and spiritual, cultural, causes and collectives to assist students visiting the Expo to easily find groups they are interested in.
The form will become visible during the open time only, and will be called Clubs Expo Application Semester 1 2024 - you will be able to find it here.
- BBQ FOR CLUBS
Is your club thinking of running a BBQ on campus during Semester 1? The Student Engagement Team will fund one club a week with $200. In 2024 we will be running Beats & BBQ every Wednesday of the first semester; here, you will have the opportunity to have a BBQ to recruit new members, look after the community, or support students on campus. Find the perfect location to run your event, and go for it!
If you’d like to apply for this funding, please le studentgroups@auckland.ac.nz know and we will link you to the application.
- COMPULSORY TRAINING 2024
Some clubs have not completed their re-registration or are facing difficulties with grants and/or participation in the Clubs Expo due to NOT completing the compulsory training. There are more sessions available, find the links and information below.
- Creating Culture of Consent Workshop – Link here
- Bullying, Harassment and Discrimination Workshop – Link here
If you have been having difficulties attending, consider this for 2025 and try attending sessions late 2024 to save your clubs the difficulties of securing a last minute spot. Forward planning and organisation really is key to running a successful club.
Make sure you are signed in onto Engage in order to see the the application forms, and the training sessions.
Feel free to contact studentgroups@auckland.ac.nz if you have any questions or concerns.
