What is Hyakuraku?
"Much Happiness, Much Fun"
is what it means
Chinese restaurant Hyakuraku opened in November 1958 on the 4th floor of Kintetsu Kaikan (currently Shin Kabukiza) in Uehonmachi 6-chome, Osaka. At that time, the Chinese restaurant business was an unknown field for us, but we traveled not only to Osaka but also to Kobe to conduct inspections and research. Since China is a vast land, there is a wide variety of Chinese cuisine. Therefore, we chose "Beijing cuisine," which is said to represent Chinese cuisine and developed as court cuisine. We have decided to welcome an authentic Chinese chef who is suitable for that as the head chef. The store name was decided to be "Hyakuraku", which means "a lot of happiness, a lot of fun". The origin of the word is in the ancient Chinese book "Xunzi", and it comes from "A good ruler should govern the country first, and then obtain hundreds of pleasures in it".To match this etymology, the interior decoration of the store is bright and refreshing. The Chinese cuisine "Hyakuraku" prepared by first-class chefs is supported by many customers, and currently we have 6 restaurants in Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara.

Hyakuraku Special Spring Rolls
Eight kinds of ingredients, including bamboo shoots, dried shrimp, and shiitake mushrooms, are simmered until the flavor is thoroughly absorbed, and each skin is carefully wrapped in a thin, moist crepe-like baked egg skin. When you take a bite, the flavor of the ingredients from the moist skin spreads throughout your mouth. Since Hyakuraku was founded, it has been the most popular menu item.
sweet and sour pork
The paste is made with Hyakuraku's traditional sweet and sour sauce and fragrantly fried garlic. Once put it for a while, the taste becomes mellow. The pork loin and colorful fried vegetalbes are entwined with the paste, making it a perfect match for rice. It has a moderate sourness and is very popular with both young and old, men and women of all ages.

Happiness (Xingfu) mapo tofu
Dried tangerine peels called “Chinpi” add depth and richness, while Kioku Sansho (Japanese pepper), known as the green diamond, creates a “refreshing flavor” that makes you want to eat it again and again. Please enjoy the “happiness menu” born from the desire to have everyone feel numbness of happiness as many times as possible.
