Hey, would you look at that, Jessica was the one who saved the day in the end! In a sort of improbable manner. In my first original draft to this story, Jessica had no involvement in the plot, it was just Bonkie and a crocodile. So in the end, being sucked down the drain truly was the end of him. Since I had introduced the basement in this version, I had to kind of explain what happened to all the water and the crocodile, and it was an ample opportunity to have Jessica be the one set things right, at last.
