Coco and Splat have heard about the specific world that wasn't in Skylands, nor even Crash and Spyro's dimensions, but a totally different world, so they decided to check this world out.
In that realm, all clothing outside of headwear, facewear, neckwear, and bags are strictly prohibited, and the only way to get there is dipping in the magical spring, so the girls stripped naked and jumped in, and it suddenly took effect.
What Splat and Coco didn't know is that in this world, only girls' heads get detachable, and their heads just suddenly popped out of their necks when they were being teleported to that strange realm, looks like they have to get used to it, let's just hope they don't lose their heads in this.

A fun little comic by cervelet showing what typically happens when Wu Tou (usually a biped but halfcut here cause why not) finds a cute head she likes. Given the right location, she’ll quickly move in, using her two special magic blades to behead the person, the body gaining a mind of its own. While initially it may try and chase her and its head, once she gets out of sight the memory charm embued in the blades quickly take effect, wiping their memory of her ever existing. They quickly return to normal life, just headless, with no memory of how they lost their head, but no real side effects either.
