New Delhi: Mahant Yugal Kishore Shastri of Ayodhya who has led many movements and yatras for communal harmony, said in an interview that America which projects itself as the promoter of peace and freedom in the world was behind the demolition of the Babri Masjid. According to Yugal Kishore Shastri, who is also the 16th witness of CBI in Babri Masjid’s demolition investigation, America’s secret agency CIA and an American company had given a huge amount to VHP for this purpose and had also fixed the date (6 December 1992) and time for demolition. He said that karsevaks associated with RSS had started their nefarious activities right from the morning on that day and after getting the green signal from it (CIA), started their destructive activities in full force and alongwith demolition they also indulged in killing Muslims and destroying their properties after which they celebrated the event. He said that such incidents are poisonous for humanity and open violation and contempt of law. Government must make its stand clear on this issue and ensure the safety of minorities whether Muslims, Christians or anyone else belonging to any religion. He said that without this neither the country can be strong nor democracy. He also expressed his concern over the arrest of Muslim youth on the pretext of national security and warned that if these things are not stopped, the country can reach the orifice of partition.
