Naja's Calf (2023)

Naja gave birth to her first calf on or around December 29th, 2023. The calf is a female and the father is Nord. This is the first orca to be born in Russia.

Naja gave birth to the calf after a 10 hour labor. They stated there was slow progress after labor started and had to give Naja Oxytocin to help the labor process. Naja and the calf are bonding and the next steps are watching for successful nursing. The calf was likely born on December 29th. Moskvarium states she is about 6.5 feet long and 330 lbs.
