DOJ designer Hiroyuki Tanaka has set the record straight about the cat sitting atop st.5 enemy Eisou: it's not a cat! it's supposed to resemble a bee's head, but in the process of converting the 3D model to pre-rendered dot art, it became so low-res that it looked like a cat🇯🇵

怒首領蜂大往生5面の敵「衛爪」に 猫が乗っている問題 3Dモデルでは「蜂の頭」だったが 実機表示する際に横幅を縮小する必要があり その結果 蜂と認識するに必要なドットが間引かれ それがたまたま猫に見えてしまった って訳 つまり蜂を横幅縮小すると猫になる 蜂=猫 故に「怒首領猫」である ん？
