Ulises is a 45 year old male orca who lives at SeaWorld San Diego. He is the oldest male orca in captivity and the largest.
Ulises lived with no other orcas for his first 13 years in captivity at Barcelona Zoo. He moved to SeaWorld San Diego in 1994 and has remained there since. Ulises is very fond of Orkid. Over the past few years they have become closer. He is often seen performing with her in shows or the other males in the park. Ulises is one of the more dominant males. He is rarely grouped with Corky because he will try to rake her. The only time they were together was when Kasatka was in the same tank as them.

Even though Ulises is very large, he can jump very high lifting his body completely out of the water. Unlike most adult males in captivity, Ulises dorsal fin only bends over partially, looking like a fish hook.
Ulises' first calf, Moana, was born to Wikie at Marineland Antibes in France on March 16, 2011. Wikie had been artificially inseminated in 2009. Kalia gave birth to his second calf, a female named Amaya, on December 2, 2014.
Ulises has had few issues with trainers, but on a few occasions when performing waterworks, he has shown sexual tendencies. He stopped performing waterworks before they were stopped in 2010, but had resumed them off and on throughout the years.
