I can’t believe a friendship like Rik’s and Adrian’s existed in this world. You see them on a talk show interview and it’s clear there’s an understanding between them that the interviewer is on the outside of. They grew up throwing punches together and when you watch their routines in Bottom when they‘re much older, they are so in sync they don’t even use words to indicate when something’s off or they need to re-do a bit. And Ade’s words about the 90% of his sense of humor his wife shares with him but that the last ten percent is stuff Rik would have gotten breaks my heart every time I think of them. They cared about each other so much and called each other rude names while they did it. I just need to be reminded every now and then that magically-nice things can happen in the world and their relationship is one of them.
