Former President Donald Trump condemned the Hamas attacks against Israel and asserted U.S. taxpayer dollars helped fund them, without providing any evidence of this claim.

Trump is the front runner for the Republican presidential nomination, which means he and President Biden, a Democrat, could run against each other again in 2024.

The U.S. doesn't provide assistance to Hamas, which is a designated terrorist entity. In 2021, the Biden administration restored economic and humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, reversing the Trump administration’s decision to cut the funds.
