Solution to "Attempts to archive this video failed"? |
To whom it may concern, I have recently found a YouTube video that was archived before it originally went private, but there was a problem with it; Although there was a capture of the media, the video won't start, and finally showed a gray screen with an error message, and a black box on the top with the texts, "Attempts to archive this video failed". Is there a possible way to fix this and watch the video, or is it a dead-end? I am able to see the frames of it on the progress bar below, but I want to watch the video in motion. Thank You!
Best,

Re: Solution to 'Attempts to archive this video failed'? |
I discovered that it has better shot at archiving when the web saver is not having the "&themeRefresh=1" issue, and/or being saved as only "
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=" format.
However, if a video is in the process of being downloaded and it gets met with those conditions, the saver will fail and won't allow another chance of the video being downloaded to be archived (even if done correctly that time).
I hope they fix it, so that a video that failed to be archived or has that specific error, allows another chance of being done.

Seems the videos without "&themeRefresh=1" are gone forever. Unless they fix it, but that's very unlikely at this point.

Welp, I tried to include "&themeRefresh=1" to videos I tried to archive, but it just redirects me to a "accounts.google.com" sign-in page. So it seems that ALL videos are gone forever. 😭
