I have seen comments on the Archive forum that were blanked by their author, meaning edited to remove their content, sometimes months or years after first being posted. This makes those conversations incomprehensible.

The Archive forum has no revision history like wiki-based sites and the Wayback Machine can not capture the archive.org forum. If posts are editable forever with no revision history, post authors can simply manipulate conversations after other people have replied.

This is why I suggest that posts are only editable or deletable by their author until one hour after posting.
