A trans friend I never stopped caring about recently asked for financial help. I know this friend has been mad at me every since they learned about my view on the gender issue, but I sent them money anyway because it sounded like they really needed it and, may be I am crazy, but I define "kindness" as the ability to care about people who may be different from you, hold different beliefs, etc. - after all, it's easy to care only about people who share your opinions.

If someone I vehemently disagree with showed me an act of kindness, I would have reached out and thanked them anyway. I would have asked myself whether or not I may have misjudged or misunderstood them.

But no, they decided to simply block me on their donation platform (but kept the money anyway).

I didn't do this for them for recognition. I kept my donation message private. I simply saw a fellow human being who needed help.

It doesn't seem like our definition of "kindness" is aligned.

So, while trying to fav some artworks, I came to the realization some artists I follow (but have never interacted with) blocked me, presumably over my opinions on the trans issue.

I've never blocked anybody on here regardless of their political alignment or personal opinion. The only time I've ever blocked anybody was when they were personally rude to me.

Since these are people who have not even spoken with me, the only reason they blocked me is so I can't fav their submissions - seems rather pathetic, considering the purpose of virtue signaling is so that other people can witness your piousness. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh well, I save all submissions locally via an add-on anyway. If that offends you, may be don't upload any art at all.

Earlier today I was told by a former friend that I am "a real threat and danger to women" because another mutual former friend had alleged to her that I drew a picture - supposedly in secret - of this friend's character being physically assaulted, as "revenge porn" because I was "jealous that she had other partners".

Aside from the fact that I've never drawn anything of that sort, everything I've ever drawn - including rough sketches and WIP's - were always shared in a public friends group, which still exists & all of the chat history is fully accessible. I have never shared any art exclusively with this "mutual friend".

I don't care that this person has a negative opinion of me, but making up absurd lies like this is morally reprehensible.

In retrospect, I am very glad all of this drama happened to me, because now I get to see the true face of people I had in my life, and many of them are vile poison.
