Eaglercraft is an AOT-compiled JavaScript version of Minecraft 1.5.2 and 1.8.8. It was, and still is, developed by lax1dude, who continuously adds new features to the 1.8.8 version of the game.
Yes, Eaglercraft 1.12 is still under development, and our current focus is the rendering engine first.
We are planning to hold a public meeting on Saturday to address the progress made so far, what we've found, and some difficulties. Additionally, since people have been wanting to know about our progress regularly, we would like to make the meeting open to the public. Because It seems that every day I discover new files containing information that could have been useful to us earlier. We will decide a time on saturday by tomorrow.
Here is the Discord where the discussion will be held

I mean it is great that you're making 1.12, but I just don't think it'll be used much as a vast majority of eagler players use school chromebooks which aren't necessarily great. I mean even I get only around average 50-80 fps with fully optimized settings on my school computer (about the highest I've even heard of in the community). So even if this does actually become completed most if not all the large servers will stay on 1.8 purely for lag reduction
higher version ≠less fps
Can u make it so it doesn't expire pls

couldn't you use the rendering engine from 1.8.8 just wondering
I'm sorry to sound critical, but this really does just sound like those Kickstarter campaigns that promise the world but fail to deliver. Do you have any actual screenshots of any real progress, say, for example, rendering engine previews? Surely you would be making sure the engine is able to render as it's developed rather than testing it at completion.
our plan was just building until there are no errors none of us really know how we could test the rendering engine until we can actually compile everything
Use WebGPU instead of WebGL.
