Firstly I would like to say how much I appreciate Bitchute, however there are some glaring problems with how the site is operated that hopefully might start to be addressed.

The first one is the how completely opaque the whole operation is. I understand that it is not operated with billions of big tech dollars behind it and will never have the level of gloss available elsewhere but that said it is still riddled with silly (and some not so silly) issues and seemingly no way whatsoever to have them addressed.

We all know about the problem of the disappearing videos (seed issues) but there are others as well.

Bitchute clearly started out in life being sold as a distributed P2P platform based on webtorrent, which it clearly isn't. If it was then we could, for example, host our own seeds.

You could also take some of the load off your own infrastructure by introducing a way to "re-upload" videos from other channels without having to actually upload (and subsequently reprocess and re-host) the video file. Half the videos on bitchute are copies of other videos on bitchute and you end up hosting multiple copies of the same content, which seems highly inefficient to me. A reupload option could also include ways to credit the original source as part of the upload process to spread the love. Oddysee allows this for example.

I also have been having a recurring suspicion that, like twitter, bitchute is also doing shadow banning. What is the purpose of the "Popular" tab? How is it populated? It seems to me that it would be more accurately described as "New", however...

...most of my videos never appear on it despite them getting more views in the first few minutes than others and, as I write this, the latest entry has a grand total of 1 (ONE) view. What is going on there?

I used to have a bronze membership in the site (even after I lost my job in the plandemic) but I eventually stopped after I had dozens of my videos just drop into the bitchute black hole and I began to question whether my investment was well placed. That was 2020 and the problem still exists today.

I was an early adopter back in 2017 and started posting content in 2019 so I have some personal investment in the success of bitchute but you guys make it really hard for us, and also yourselves. I have been considering making the transition to Rumble for quite some time now and it's only the fact that I have built up a midsize channel here and would prefer not to have to start again that keeps me from doing it.

Hopefully you might start opening up a bit more to the bitchute community and no, brainstorming over a new name shouldn't really be a high priority right now.

there are A LOT of videos that stopped playing (including about half of mine), but as I heard the seed swapper can make them work again. Please add a method of scanning for the video being 404, checking whether any other seeds have it, then change the URL and update the database accordingly. even Corbett complained about it a few months ago!

Saw it on the other channel already, but good to see this one become active again.

An chance you could get together with some people you respect (maybe reach out to top content creators with good people on their sites or discord servers or whatnot) and "train" an instance of a search engine like searx?

Not only would it be amazing to have a good search engine that didn't constantly push out the corrupt/controlled narrative of the PTB, it would be great advertising for the site too IMO.

The "search engine" on Bitchute needs to be improved. Almost everbody is complaining about that.
And it's not too difficult to program a decent search engine in the first place.
